About House of Wu
Welcome to House of Wu, a Chinese restaurant located at 1250 State Hwy 13 in Burnsville, Minnesota. As a part of the Chinese restaurant category in the Burnsville area, House of Wu focuses on providing takeout services for the local community. Based on customer reviews, House of Wu has been a long-standing establishment with a reputation for delivering flavorful Chinese cuisine.
Given that the provided information specifically mentions "take out only," it can be inferred that House of Wu primarily operates as a takeout restaurant. This means that the environment is likely geared towards efficient order preparation and pickup rather than an extensive dine-in area. Customers can expect a functional space where they can place their orders and collect their food to enjoy at home or another location. The focus is on convenience and providing quality Chinese dishes for off-site consumption.
The primary service offered by House of Wu is takeout. Customers can place their orders by phone at (952) 890-5920 or +1 952-890-5920 and then pick up their food at the 1250 State Hwy 13 address. The reviews do not mention any delivery services, so it is likely that takeout is the sole option available. Local residents seeking to enjoy House of Wu's offerings will need to arrange for pickup.
Customer reviews provide insights into some of the popular dishes at House of Wu. One long-time customer, who has been patronizing the restaurant for nearly twenty years, highly recommends several items, including the "crispy chicken wings," "BBQ pork," and "vegetable rice." This positive feedback suggests that these dishes are consistent in quality and flavor, contributing to the restaurant's reliability over an extended period. The fact that a customer has been a loyal patron for two decades speaks to a potentially strong local following and a history of satisfying their culinary preferences.
In contrast, another customer shared a significantly negative experience specifically concerning the purchase of roast duck. This customer ordered five ducks, three cut and two whole. Upon arriving home, they discovered that two of the three cut ducks were missing the breast meat, which they identified as "where the most meat is." The customer reported weighing the box of cut meat and comparing it to the weight of a whole duck, noting a 12-ounce difference. This experience left the customer feeling "cheated" and resulted in a vow not to return to the restaurant. The reviewer strongly advises other customers to inspect cut roast ducks thoroughly before leaving the premises or to opt for whole ducks to avoid potential discrepancies.
The starkly contrasting reviews present a somewhat complex picture of House of Wu. On one hand, there is a long-standing customer who praises the consistent quality and flavor of specific items like crispy chicken wings, BBQ pork, and vegetable rice. This suggests that these dishes may be reliable and well-prepared. On the other hand, a recent experience with the roast duck was significantly negative, involving a perceived shortage of meat in the cut portions, leading to a strong sense of dissatisfaction and a loss of a customer.
The feature of "reliable flavor" mentioned by the long-time customer is a significant positive attribute for any restaurant, especially one that has been serving the community for an extended period. Consistency in taste is crucial for building and maintaining customer loyalty. The specific recommendations of crispy chicken wings and BBQ pork indicate that these might be signature dishes or particularly well-executed items on the menu.
However, the serious issue raised regarding the roast duck cannot be ignored. The significant discrepancy in the amount of meat in the cut portions, if accurate, is a major concern regarding transparency and quality control. Potential customers who are considering ordering roast duck, especially cut portions, should be aware of this reported issue and might want to take extra precautions to ensure the order is complete and as expected.
The provided information does not include any details about current promotions or special offers at House of Wu. In conclusion, House of Wu in Burnsville is a Chinese restaurant primarily offering takeout service. It has a history of providing flavorful food, with crispy chicken wings, BBQ pork, and vegetable rice being highlighted as consistently good by a long-term customer. However, a recent negative experience concerning the roast duck, involving a significant amount of missing meat in cut portions, raises concerns about quality control and transparency for this particular dish. Local users considering House of Wu for takeout may find the recommended dishes to be reliable, but those interested in roast duck, especially cut portions, should be aware of the reported issue. For any information on current promotions or specials, direct contact with the restaurant is recommended.

Customer Reviews
today, my friends and I went to buy roast duck, 5 ducks: 3 were cut, 2 were whole. When we got home, of the 3 cut, 2 had the breast meat (where the most meat is) taken away. I found out when my son searched for a long time but couldn't find it. We weighed the box of cut meat and the whole duck, the difference was 12oz. it's ridiculous, disappointing, if the restaurant took it away. I say this to remind you: if you buy a cut roast duck, make sure all the meat is there, nothing was taken away. BETTEST IS NO CUT. for me, I won't go back. I hate the feeling of being cheated.
Some of the best Chinese in Burnsville! Always reliable with great flavor. My boyfriend has been going here for almost twenty years. Highly recommend the crispy chicken wings, BBQ pork and vegetable rice! Take out only
They are crazy busy. The 2 women who served me tried their best. Their succulent Peking duck and roasted pork are simply divine. Highly recommended! Worth the drive.
The roast pork was just delicious. They cut it up in front of you if you just order take out. The pork I got was unbelievably moist and the crackling was crispy. I recommend eating this straight away.
Been coming here for 15+ years. Only place I go for roasted duck, BBQ pork and roasted pork. I recommend calling a day in advance on the weekend if you want roasted duck. They run out very quick. Best in MN.
