Customer Reviews
My family has been dining here since 1992, while there’s been a few changes over time (decor, residents in the aquariums, the transition away from buffet service); many great things have stayed- the quality of the food, tried and true favorite recipes are still available and several members of staff remain onboard after all these years. Alongside the dining area, there’s a cozy bar seating area and in the warm months, there’s a small amount of outdoor seating available on the deck. In addition to dine-in, they offer take out as well, the food quality is consistent in both services. The menu is available on their website. Daily drink specials are shared on their Facebook page, complete with photos. As part of the menu, there are combination plate specials for lunch and dinner, as well as special menu section featuring a variety of offerings for varying levels of guests- a fun option to try a variety of things. While reservations aren’t needed, if you were to come in a large group (8 or more guests), I would encourage it to allow staff to prearrange seating if tables need to be placed together. I think the prices are fair for the quality and would generally estimate meals at $10-$20 per person (at the time of this writing).
Went here while waiting for our tire change, the lady in charge was friendly and their dog sat beside us which was fine, coz I love dogs. Their food was good and the service was fast. Would recommend!
Went for lunch, place was slow. There was a lady doing everything: host, bartender, server. There was also a large fish in a tank, a solitary Black Pacu. Nothing else in the tank, except the fish. Looks like it’s been there for a long time. It seems like animal abuse to me. Should donate the fish an aquarium. The side room and back room were empty and cleared of tables. Apparently, they were affected by the flood. Service was good. Tropical drinks were ok. The food was average. We ordered a Vegetable Lo Mein which had a nice flavor, but not much in the way of vegetables, just a few sautéed onions and a couple of bean sprouts. It was an embarrassment, actually. It would be a good location for a full-on Polynesian Bar, but it looks like the owners have given up on it.
Food was OK. The crab rangoons lacked any crab, and our pork fried rice had maybe 2 pieces of onion, and 2 pieces of pork total. It was solely rice. Expensive for the amount of food we recieved too! We arrived at 8pm. It said they closed at 8:30 PM, the dining room was closed down, and we were told "we could only order to go since they were closing in like 20 minutes" . They were closing in 30 minutes, and usually businesses serve food until close. But take out it was. Be aware- if you are expecting to be able to sit down. I'm not sure when the dining room closes, but hours should reflect that correctly. We were offered a drink while we waited, which was nice.
Oh how I love the House of Tang 💚 This place has been a favorite since my teenage years. Beth does an absolutely fantastic job keeping the tradition alive. We always dine in, everything is fresh and delicious.
