At House Of Hunan, we pride ourselves on being a family-run establishment that focuses on serving time-honored recipes passed down through generations. While our ambiance may be described as cozy and not overly fancy, we are committed to providing a nice and clean setting where you can comfortably enjoy a satisfying meal. Our dedication to quality ingredients and authentic cooking techniques ensures that each dish is prepared with care and delivers the bold yet balanced flavors that Hunan cuisine is known for.
Our menu features a variety of classic Chinese dishes, with several items receiving high praise from our valued customers. For starters, we highly recommend trying our popular Chicken Dumplings served with a zesty Szechuan sauce, offering a delightful kick to begin your culinary journey. Another customer favorite is our savory Onion Pancakes, known for their flaky texture and rich flavor. These appetizers are perfect for sharing or enjoying on your own as a delicious introduction to your meal.
Moving on to the main courses, House Of Hunan offers a diverse selection of soups, fried rice, and noodle dishes to cater to various palates. Our fried rice and noodle preparations are crafted with fresh ingredients and attention to detail, ensuring a satisfying and flavorful experience. A standout dish that has garnered positive feedback is our Basil Chicken, praised for its excellent taste and aromatic qualities. Whether you are in the mood for a comforting bowl of noodles, a hearty plate of fried rice, or a flavorful chicken dish, our menu has something to please every craving.
While the majority of our offerings receive high marks, one customer noted that the Thai milk tea was disappointing. We appreciate this feedback and continuously strive to improve all aspects of our menu. However, this single comment should not overshadow the overwhelmingly positive reviews regarding our food quality and flavor profiles.
In terms of service, House Of Hunan is known for its efficiency and helpfulness. Our staff is dedicated to ensuring that your dining experience, whether in-house or through takeout/delivery, is as smooth and pleasant as possible. While one review mentioned a potential lack of basic courtesy due to the owner not being a native English speaker, the overall consensus highlights the efficiency and helpfulness of the service provided. We are committed to ensuring that all our customers feel well-taken care of.
Interestingly, the restaurant often appears empty, which our customers have noted is likely due to the high volume of online orders we receive. This indicates the popularity of our takeout and delivery services among the local community. If you prefer to dine in, you can usually expect a quieter atmosphere, allowing for a more relaxed meal.
For those planning to visit our physical location at 2 Townsend St, San Francisco, CA 94107, USA, we are pleased to inform you that there is usually plenty of street parking available nearby. A helpful tip from a local patron is to park on the side of the South Beach Marina Apartments leasing office, as the street parking in that area is often free. This convenient parking situation makes it easier for you to come and enjoy our delicious Hunan cuisine.
In conclusion, House Of Hunan Restaurant offers a genuine taste of traditional Chinese cuisine with a focus on the flavorful dishes of the Hunan province. Our go to at the neighborhood. The portions are generous, the flavors are bold yet balanced, and every dish feels like it’s made with love. The cozy atmosphere, paired with attentive service, makes it perfect for a casual dinner or takeout.
House of Hunan is a family run restaurant serving traditional Chinese dishes. This is not a fancy place but it offers good food in a nice and clean setting. Chicken dumplings with Szechuan sauce and Onion Pancakes are savory starters. We also tried soup, different fried rice and noodles along with Basil Chicken and they were excellent. Thai milk tea was disappointing though. The service is super efficient and helpful although it will lack basic courtesy since the owner is not a native English speaker. The restaurant always seems empty since it looks like most of the people order online. There is plenty of street parking available nearby. Park on the side of South Beach Marina Apartments leasing office side since the street parking is free over there. Overall this is a decent place to dine when you just need to fill up your tummy and don't care about great dinning experience.
Tasty and hits the spot on a cool night. Fairly quick and friendly service. There were a lot of to go orders picked up while we waited. The dishes came out sizzling hot and large portions. 3 entrees were more than plenty for 3 hungry individuals to share. We finished every bite! Happy to have an above average Chinese restaurant nearby and looking forward to going back.
food is expensive but taste okay, owner is a bit rude. Didn’t feel welcomed at all.
The schezwan chicken was not like any I’ve had before. Maybe it’s more authentic than other places I’ve ordered from? But it was pretty disappointing tbh.
