House of Gourmet is a great spot for delicious Chinese food. The taste and quality of the food were excellent, and everything was cooked to perfection. I highly recommend trying the BBQ ribs, which were tender and flavorful, the soup, which was rich and comforting, and the beef with vegetables, which was fresh and well-seasoned. The atmosphere was warm and inviting, making it a nice place to dine in. The waitresses were friendly and welcoming, adding to the overall positive experience. However, the washroom wasn’t in the best condition, which was a downside. Overall, if you’re looking for great food and good service, House of Gourmet is definitely worth a visit!

I’m from Asia so I have relatively high expectations when it comes to Chinese food haha hence the rating. Would probably find a better spot. But don’t get me wrong, the food is decent and does the job if you’re craving Chinese food. Decent serving sizes — great taste and flavor. Just had better that’s all. Service is nothing great, typical Chinese restaurant service. Atmosphere is what is expected of a Chinese restaurant. Nothing great. Just decent. Would go back if/ when convenient or with friends :)

The foods are great! I really enjoy the tofu and the beans. The size of the plates are quite big and the bbq rice plates are also delicious with various dipping sauces. The bbq duck is a bit too oily and fat but everything else are very satisfying The tofu came in late and the service isn’t that good. But overall the experience is great and I will probably revisit in the future

House of Gourmet has been around in Chinatown for a long time and has a long menu to boot. They have classic Cantonese food and BBQ meats within a large restaurant that takes you back to 90s vibes. We had 3 classic dishes. The shrimp wonton and BBQ duck egg noodles had their large bouncy plump wontons and tender duck in classic broth but the egg noodles were still somewhat dry. In the BBQ pork and soya chicken dish, the meats weren’t as juicy as we typically expect. The rice rolls with fried dough was tasty but served lukewarm after we nearly finished the other 2 bowls. Still we received pleasant service which left us pleasantly surprised. When a server accidentally took away our wonton bowl with soup left, she was more than willing to give us a hot bowl of wonton soup to replace it.

We've eaten here before & lucked out recently while looking for a place still for late eats. I had the beef brisket with egg noodles. Their servi g was generous, lots of tender beef & noodles. Great good, that's open late.
