House of Dynasty

I’ve been coming to HoD for over 20 years — they still got it!! The rainbow thin rice noodles are delicious and so is the Szechuan green beans!

We checked on House of Dynasty online and it had good reviews. The prices were somewhat high but I thought that meant the food was good. Otherwise, they wouldn’t charge so much. We ordered carry out for pickup. When we got to the restaurant my husband went down to pick up the order. He got back to the car and was very excited. He said the smell of the food in the restaurant was good, it seemed busy inside even though it was around 3pm on a Sunday, and the staff was friendly. He was so happy he even brought a carry out menu for next time. Well, there will not be a next time from House of Dynasty. The chicken corn soup, which was enough for 1 person, looked a weird yellow color and the taste was off. I couldn’t taste chicken or corn. The rest of the food was okay, if I had gotten it from a buffet. It tasted and seemed not freshly made. The meal was definitely not worth the $90 it cost. They charge for the hot chili oil and if you want fried rice instead of white rice it is an additional $4.80. My stomach was not happy with the meal and I immediately threw out the carry out menu.

I have been coming here for years!!! Hands down best Chinese in the area. I drive 45 minutes to dine here. Great prices, great drinks, great food, and GREAT staff!

Ambiance and atmosphere is amazing, very well organized, clean, beautifully decorated. A fancier thab usual restaurant for Asian dining for sure, had a nice vibe. Staff was kind, took the orders and explained the menu. The restroom smelled a bit funky. Food was not what I would call authentic Chinese, more Americanized. The lunch special was not upto the mark at all. The Eggroll was inedible, so greasy and just falling apart. The food wasn't seasoned like usual Chinese restaurants. I wasn't impressed at all with the food.

I found this place when I first moved to the area two decades ago and this quickly became a staple to satisfy my curry chicken cravings a few times a week because the dish was made with sliced chicken breast. However, the last time we ordered from the restaurant I was surprised to find that they replaced the sliced chicken breast with strips of what I assume were dark meat chicken and that is why I gave the low rating. I wish they would return to the way the curry chicken dish was made originally. I doubt that is going to happen based on the many reviews and knowing it was because the management changed. It's unfortunate because I loved this restaurant and the food was exceptional. Hopefully the management will read the many reviews and at least provide the option to request sliced chicken breast even if it means an up-charge for the option. **UPDATE: Today, we decided to give House of Dynasty another try based on recent reviews saying that management had listened to prior reviews. We were very happy that we did... Thank you House of Dynasty for listening, we were very happy with our lunch and will continue returning as long as the food remains up to the current standards. I ordered the curry chicken for lunch today and found it to be excellent and very close to the original dish that had kept me returning for 20 years. I'm pleased to see it return to the original quality and you have earned us back as customers.
