Been craving Jamaican food for a minute! Gave this place a shot for the first time because I would drive by it often, and this food will definitely NOT disappoint. We’ve ordered the Oxtail Rasta Pasta and the Jerk Shrimp entrees and they hit the spot…. Portions were perfect, oxtails were juicy and meaty. The Jerk Shrimp has a nice spice level, literally the epitome of what Jamaican food should be. They even got milkshakes on the menu, highly recommend the Rowdy Roostah Milkshake. It’s made with stout, slightly alcoholic and the thickness consistency was on point. Taste wise… it touched every corner of my soul! Nice rich caramel/vanilla tones. Everything was very fresh including their delicious beef patties. The atmosphere was calm and clean, and the staff was very nice and accommodating. If you’re craving this food like I was, TRY THIS SPOT 🙌🏽

Went to Hot Roostah chicken Thursday with my daughter. The service is very quick and kind. I'm pretty sure it's family owned. The dad and mom made me and my daughter's food, and the daughter checked us out at the counter they were all humble people. The atmosphere was nice and welcoming. The food was amazing. I got 3 beef patties, 1 spicy, and 2 regular. The spicy one was good. I could've used a little more spice, but that's my preference. Everybody else has their own opinion. Overall texture, wise, and the way the beef patties were made, you can definitely tell it was homemade. It was definitely delicious. The oxtail with the steamed cabbage and the rice beans was phenomenal. Oxtail was definitely tender falling right off the bone, and they definitely gave me a decent amount of gravy from the oxtail. Overall, I'll definitely come back. I can't wait to try the stew chicken and jerk chicken. Keep the good work up, guys, and blessed to have the experience we had godbless and thank😁🙏🏽💯

First time visiting tonight, and had the jerk chicken meal with the rice and peas, as well as the coleslaw. All of it was so good! Great service, over the phone and in-person, great price, and even better portions. Must try in East Haven, and hoping they stick around for a long time! I’ll definitely be back

I usually don’t complain about Caribbean food being that I love it so much. It’s so hard to find a decent Jamaican spot with good portions. First I must say that the service is always pleasant and I love how well kept they keep the place however the oxtail is over priced for the portions that are being given smh. They charge 19 and change for the medium and 21 change for the large which are in the same size container and they give the same size portions for the medium and small plate which is usually some small pieces with a couple of medium size pieces in the mix. They definitely need to fix that! The portions need to be equivalent to what’s being charged. I don’t care about price as much as I care about getting my moneys worth.

Visited for the first time yesterday, and I am so happy to say that East Haven has a good WEST INDIAN restaurant near me now! The food was very good, well seasoned, and a generous portion. The prices are reasonable and I will be back! I need curry goat to seal the deal!
