About Hoshi Sushi
Hoshi Sushi is a Japanese restaurant located at 2960 Artesian Rd #112, Naperville, IL 60564, USA. They can be contacted at (630) 536-8273 or +1 630-536-8273. This establishment specializes in Japanese cuisine, with a focus on sushi and other traditional dishes.
Customer reviews indicate a mixed reception. Some patrons have expressed disappointment with their dining experience. Issues raised include overly salty miso soup, stringy and fishy sushi, and overcooked and dry salmon teriyaki. However, the tempura has been noted as being well-prepared, with a light and crispy texture.
Service has also been a point of contention, with reports of rude and inflexible waiters. Additionally, customers have expressed concern regarding the preset tip amounts on bills, which some feel are inflated. For example, one review mentioned that an 18% tip option was calculated incorrectly, resulting in a higher amount than expected.
While some customers find the sushi to be acceptable, it is not considered exceptional. The general consensus is that the restaurant is overpriced for the quality of food and service provided. Some reviewers suggest that there are superior sushi restaurants in the area that offer better value for the money.
In summary, Hoshi Sushi offers Japanese cuisine in Naperville, but customer reviews highlight concerns about food quality, service, and pricing. Potential diners should be aware of these reported issues.

Customer Reviews
Wanted to like this neighborhood sushi restaurant. So disappointed. Miso soup was super salty. Half of my sushi was stringy and fishy. Salmon teriyaki was over cooked and dry. Though the tempura was done right. Very light. The waiter was rude and inflexible. Watch out on the preset tip amounts that are all jacked up. My bill was 93 with tax. Yet the 18 percent tip option showed 18.45. Complete ripoff. Will not be back
I'm not a sushi connoisseur by any means. However, my wife is. As a person that doesn't eat sushi, the plate that I got was mediocre at best. The noodles were definitely interesting. The sushi is being reported as good but nothing to write home about. Where this place falls off the ledge is the price that we paid at the end of the meal for what we received. Expect to be paying a very big bill for not bad sushi. I'm being told for the price that we paid for dinner, we could have gone to another sushi restaurant that would be far superior.
Best place for Sushi. Shrimp Tempura was amazing. Must try
Their sushi is some of the freshest in the area, and the imported Toro is very flavorful. All of their food is very decadent, but it also comes at a hefty price tag. They offer welcoming services, and a clean cozy atmosphere.
1-23-23 Going in I didn't want to have any expectations especially after reading the reviews. With a level mind I went. I ordered the Gyoza and Seared Tuna as the starters. Then the Tequila roll, the Super Crunch, Spicy Tuna, and Hamachi Nigiri. Gyoza was fully fried all around. I like my Gyoza to be crispy on the bottom and soft on top. it was still good, just not as good as it should be. Seared tuna was fantastic with great umami and a nice spicy chili note. The combination of the seasoned oil and tender thin slices of tuna really was a pleasure. My family loved the Super Crunch and it was our most favorite. The Tequila roll was also really good. The Spicy Tuna was okay. I liked that the spicy mayo sauce for it was really not mayo but their own take vs the heavy mayo sauces usually used in this roll. We ended with the Hamachi Nigiri and it was great. Very fresh and tender that is very satisfying. Their sushi rice complimented all of the rolls and Nigiri. Overall this place will be on my short list of go-to Sushi spots in the Naperville area. Number one being Momoya and this a close second. It's on the pricey side but good sushi will always be, plus in this economy, it was fair. (Didn't get a pic of the seared tuna, family tore into it before I could! Also our bill was $120 with gratuity for 2 adults, 1 teen, and 1 toddler. Just enough not to be full.)
