About Hop Sing Chinese Restaurant

Hop Sing Chinese Restaurant, located at 214 Essex St, Hackensack, NJ 07601, USA, is a local Chinese Restaurant serving the Hackensack community. They can be contacted at (201) 343-6080 or their mobile number, +1 201-343-6080. While specific details about the restaurant's ambiance or interior design are not available through the provided information, it's important for potential local users to consider the recent customer experiences when deciding whether to patronize this establishment.

The primary service offered by Hop Sing Chinese Restaurant appears to be takeout, as indicated by the nature of the customer reviews which discuss ordered meals brought home. There is no mention of dine-in service in the provided feedback. It is crucial for local users seeking delivery options to note that the reviews do not mention this service, suggesting that pickup is the likely method for obtaining food from this restaurant.

Based on the limited but detailed customer feedback available, the features of Hop Sing Chinese Restaurant present a mixed picture. One significant point of concern raised by a customer involves an order of "Mango chicken" which turned out to be unsatisfactory. The reviewer described the dish as having rubbery chicken, an excessive amount of raw vegetables, and a sauce that did not taste like mango, instead resembling a "gelatinous slime." This experience led the customer to believe that the restaurant might have lacked the necessary ingredients for the ordered dish and improvised with subpar results. The subsequent offer to replace the meal with "Tso chicken," based on the reasoning that "no one complains about that," further suggests potential inconsistencies in the quality and preparation of different menu items. Notably, the replacement Tso chicken was also reported to be unsatisfactory, leading the customer to opt for an alternative from another establishment.

Another customer shared a similarly negative experience with the "chicken rice soup," describing it as "disgusting" with "tiny little cubes of old meat, smelling rancid," which unfortunately had to be thrown away. However, this same reviewer had a contrasting experience with the "Curry chicken," which was reported as being "good." This stark difference in the quality of different dishes highlights a potential lack of consistency in their food preparation.

The limited number of reviews available prevents a comprehensive understanding of all aspects of Hop Sing Chinese Restaurant. However, the existing feedback raises concerns regarding the reliability of certain menu items and the restaurant's handling of customer complaints about food quality. The lack of a satisfactory resolution for the misrepresented "Mango chicken" and the poor quality of the chicken rice soup are significant issues that potential customers should be aware of.

Promotional information is not included in the provided reviews. Typically, Chinese restaurants may offer lunch specials, combination plates, or discounts for larger orders. To ascertain if Hop Sing Chinese Restaurant currently has any promotions, local users would need to contact them directly via phone. Given the recent negative feedback regarding food quality and customer service, it would be prudent for potential customers to inquire about the specific dishes they are interested in and perhaps seek more recent reviews from other sources if available.

In conclusion, the limited customer feedback for Hop Sing Chinese Restaurant in Hackensack, NJ, presents a cautionary perspective. While it is a local Chinese Restaurant offering takeout service, recent experiences highlight significant issues with the quality of certain dishes, including the "Mango chicken" and "chicken rice soup." The inconsistency in food quality is further emphasized by a positive review of the "Curry chicken" from the same customer who found the soup inedible. The restaurant's handling of a complaint regarding a misrepresented dish also raises concerns about their customer service approach. Local users considering Hop Sing Chinese Restaurant should weigh these recent experiences and perhaps inquire further about the quality and preparation of specific menu items before placing an order. Due to the negative experiences reported, it would be advisable for potential customers to exercise caution and possibly explore other local Chinese restaurant options to ensure a satisfactory dining experience.

I am writing this review because I wish someone would have before I went here. Called in to order Mango chicken. When I bring the food back home and open the food container I find what is shown in the pictures below. Not Mango chicken. The chicken was rubbery and more raw vegetables than anything. The sauce did not taste like mango. Frankly, it didn’t taste like anything. Just a gelatinous slime poured over the “chicken”. When I call they say that that is how they make their mango chicken and deny our request for a refund. They offer to replace our meal with Tso chicken, as “No one complains about that.” Honestly it seems like they did not have the ingredients for the mango chicken and so they just made something up. The tso chicken was not any better either. Ended up having Popeyes down the street instead. This place is a scam. To the owner: next time do not offer a meal you do not know how to make or have the ingredients to make. Forewarn customers that you specialize in only specific dishes on your menu. And when a customer asks for a refund for a clearly disgraceful meal, just do the right thing and issue the refund.

I really wanted to write a 5 star review but the chicken rice soup was disgusting. Tiny little cubes of old meat, smelling rancid. I had to throw it away. The Curry chicken was good. Next time I rather go again to the place in Lodi. Sorry

Great takeout! The food is always fresh and delicious. The sweet and sour chicken is crispy and flavorful, and the fried rice is tasty and light. The portions are generous, and everything is packed well. Service is fast and friendly. Definitely my go-to for Chinese food. Highly recommend

Found our go to restaurant for Chinese. Fast delivery (often sooner than the expected wait), delicious chicken, delicious rice, love the steamed potstickers, and the cheese wontons. The prices are amazing and they have great promos to add soda or eggrolls. Honestly, will never order Chinese from anywhere else in town! We have tried 3-4 places in town and have not been satisfied. So happy to finally find this place!
