This customer also mentioned that the food quality seemed to have changed compared to a year prior.

Another customer stated they have dined at Hop Poh multiple times over the years but it is not their preferred choice for Chinese food, often opting for restaurants closer to Reading. This reviewer also expressed that the quality of food has declined, describing it as almost bland and seemingly not prepared with care. They further mentioned that even when specific requests are made, they are not always followed, and the portion sizes have decreased compared to other establishments.

This customer also provided photographic comparisons of Hop Poh's fried rice with rice from another restaurant, highlighting a perceived difference in the amount of ingredients, specifically noting a very small amount of egg in their Hop Poh order.

Chicken or Shrimp fried rice is not normal, they give you plain rice with Chicken or Shrimp. Called, they say you have to ask to get the veggies, onions, and pork. Ordered from there a year ago and the food was normal. Called and was told to "Have a Good Day"!

I've had hop poh a handful of times over the years and I've never really been a fan, I only get it from here if I'm craving it and it's too late to go towards reading whatever other reasons .. I always go closer to Reading for my Chinese food.. This place has declined since the first time I've tried it.. food is almost bland and not cooked with care it seems like, even when you specify what your looking for they don't listen and now they've cut back on the Portion size compared to others where they stuff it so much you can see the food almost squishing thru the clear lid Hopefully they make changes soon.. I'm posting two pictures, first one will be hop poh's food the second and third will be from my go to spot near Reading for your own judgment.. take note of the amount of contents in the rice. on this one I asked for egg and I got maybe a quarter size of it in the entire amount of rice..

If I could leave a zero, I would. The food was bland, the rice was pale, the shrimp were huge and because they had so much batter they were mushy. The people were rude and non enthusiastic. No one said "Hello" or "Goodbye "... no customer service etiquette. Never coming again. Waste of money.

This was the first time I ever got food here that wasn't very good. I got the orange chicken mild and the chicken was stringy and some hard. It seems like it was made the day before and reheated too long. The fried rice seemed dry too. I also asked for extra sweet and Sour packets. I only had 3 to share with 2 people. The girl was very hard to understand too. My husband got the boneless ribs and he said they were good.
