About Hop Li Seafood Restaurant

Hop Li Seafood Restaurant, located at 526 Alpine St, Los Angeles, CA 90012, USA, is a well-regarded Chinese restaurant in the heart of Chinatown. With contact numbers (213) 680-3939 and +1 213-680-3939, it serves the local community with a variety of Chinese cuisine, specializing in seafood.

Based on customer reviews, Hop Li Seafood Restaurant is a long-time favorite for good Chinese food. While some patrons note that the establishment's appearance reflects its age, the consistent quality of the food is a significant draw. A highly recommended dish is the braised string beans.

The restaurant offers both dine-in and take-away services, catering to individuals and large groups. During lunchtime, it appears to be a popular spot for both solo diners and those picking up to-go orders. The presence of fresh lobsters in glass tanks suggests a focus on fresh seafood options.

While the service is generally described as quick, some reviewers have mentioned potential language barriers with the staff and instances of them not being consistently attentive. Lunch specials are available, but they may come with smaller portion sizes, and substitutions for sides like fried rice may not be permitted.

Overall, Hop Li Seafood Restaurant offers an authentic Chinese dining experience with a focus on seafood. Despite some comments on the restaurant's dated appearance and potential service inconsistencies, the consistently delicious food makes it a recommended choice for those seeking traditional Chinese flavors in Los Angeles Chinatown.

A long time staple for good Chinese food in Chinatown. Staff is mostly attentive. The place shows its longevity as its a bit "long in the tooth." However, don't let appearence fool you. The food is always good and do try the briased string beans.

Recommended by a friend. Came here alone at lunch time. I was not the only single diner. Lots of seating. People picking up Togo orders and and large parties coming in. Very clean. Quick service but they did not speak English and not very attentive. Food was delicious. Smaller portions for the lunch specials, ordered a side of fried rice, there are no substitutes allowed. Fresh lobsters in the glass tanks. Will recommend and would likely return.

Been coming here for 30 years! Always great tasty foods and service. Many local downtown employees a d law enforcement come here to eat. That honey pepper fish...bomb! I use to order the Mongolian beef, that was good too. The presentation of food just seems more clean, vibrant and fresh. Parking is a bit tricky...there are only few slots in front of the restaurant, but across the street they have more. There is also street.

This is probably my #1 Chinese food restraining in downtown Los Angeles. I’ve been going here for years and it has consistently delivered delicious authentic Chinese food. We ordered the chicken corn soup, orange peel chicken, walnut shrimp and the house special chow mein crispy noodle. The chicken corn soup is one of the best in the business! My favorite soup and the orange chicken is also one my favorite versions of this dish. The walnut shrimp is also excellent and the chowmein house special noodles was a great entree and I highly recommend it. Parking is limited to street and across the street. Overall it’s a great Chinese food spot.

My family has been dining here since I was a kid. The food has always been consistent and flavorful. Definitely my first choice in Chinatown. If I lived closer, I’d probably be here every week. Even during the pandemic, I’d order for pickup when I could.
