Based on recent customer reviews, Hong Kong Restaurant offers a notable variety of food within its buffet, which is appreciated by patrons. One reviewer, who found the restaurant while searching for nearby Chinese options, mentioned that while the dining area was small and somewhat dimly lit, there was ample space for the buffet itself. They were particularly impressed by the extensive variety of dishes available, noting it was more than what is offered at most other Chinese buffets they had experienced. A highlight for this reviewer was the presence of coconut chicken, a dish they typically only find available before lunch at other establishments, and its substitution for shrimp made their dining experience particularly enjoyable. They did mention that the hostesses were not very attentive, possibly due to only two staff members being present. Despite this minor point, the reviewer indicated a willingness to return if they were in the Berea area again.
Another customer had an overwhelmingly positive experience, describing the food as "so so good" and complimenting the niceness of everyone at the restaurant. They explicitly stated that the food at Hong Kong Restaurant was amazing, noting that they had eaten a lot and had tasted many different types of Chinese food. This reviewer, along with their family, loved the food and found the buffet to be very affordable. A significant point was the availability of vegetarian options that made their mother, who is vegetarian, happy, such as fruits and noodles, among other choices. This suggests that Hong Kong Restaurant caters to a range of dietary needs, including vegetarian preferences.
Considering these reviews, Hong Kong Restaurant in Berea appears to be a local gem offering a Chinese buffet with a surprisingly wide variety of dishes, including items that might not be commonly found on other buffets, such as the much-appreciated coconut chicken. The buffet is also noted to be affordable, making it an attractive option for families and individuals looking for value. The restaurant seems to be accommodating to vegetarians, offering enough choices to satisfy those with plant-based diets. While one reviewer mentioned a small and dimly lit dining area and less attentive hostesses (possibly due to staffing), the overall positive feedback on the food quality, variety, and affordability suggests a worthwhile dining experience, especially for buffet enthusiasts.
The environment of Hong Kong Restaurant is described as having a small dining area that is somewhat dimly lit. However, there is plenty of space allocated for the buffet itself, indicating that the focus is likely on the food selection and accessibility. The cleanliness and decor are not specifically mentioned in the reviews, but the positive comments about the overall experience suggest a functional and acceptable dining space. The fact that a returning visitor was impressed by the variety indicates that the layout supports a comprehensive display of food options.
The primary service offered at Hong Kong Restaurant is a Chinese buffet, allowing customers to serve themselves from a wide array of dishes. The positive review mentioning the hostesses suggests that there is staff available to greet and seat customers, although attentiveness might be an area for potential improvement, possibly related to staffing levels. The friendly demeanor of the staff was highlighted by one reviewer, indicating a welcoming atmosphere despite the comment about attentiveness. It is reasonable to assume that standard restaurant services such as drink orders and payment processing are also provided.
Key features of Hong Kong Restaurant include its extensive variety of buffet dishes, which surpasses that of many other Chinese buffets according to one reviewer. The presence of less common items like coconut chicken on the buffet is a notable feature. The affordability of the buffet is also a significant draw, making it a budget-friendly option for many. The availability of vegetarian options, including fruits and noodles, caters to a broader range of dietary needs. While the dining area is described as small and dimly lit, the focus on the food and service seems to be the priority for most customers.
There is no specific promotional information mentioned in the provided reviews. Chinese buffet restaurants sometimes offer lunch specials, discounts for seniors or children, or special deals on certain days or times. Local users interested in any such promotions at Hong Kong Restaurant would need to contact the restaurant directly via phone or check if they have any local advertisements or online presence where such information might be shared.
In conclusion, Hong Kong Restaurant in Berea, KY, offers a Chinese buffet with a surprisingly wide and varied selection of dishes at an affordable price. It stands out for including less common items like coconut chicken and providing options suitable for vegetarians. Customer Reviews
In the area and Googled near by Chinese restaurants and we landed here. It has a small dinning area and kinda dimly lit, but there was plenty of space for their buffet. They have a very nice variety of food, more than most. I love Coconut chicken and usually only get it before lunch at most places, but they had it instead of shrimp and it made me a happy man. The hostesses were not very attentive, but there were only two of them. We’ll definitely come back if in the area.
The food is so so good. And everyone is so nice. And in this hong Kong restaurant the food is amazing. I ate a lot and I have tasted many different types of Chinese food. Me and my family loved their food and this buffet is very affordable. My mom is a vegetarian and she had food that can make her happy like the fruits and the noodles and more.
Great food and plenty of choices. Great service. Love it highly recommend. Price was good for all you can eat.
On our way back from Tennessee, the kids were craving Chinese food, and after a quick Google search, we found the only spot along the highway that didn't require much of a detour. We were traveling with about 20 people, five families in total, so we decided to give it a try. Now, let's just say the ambiance wasn’t exactly setting the mood—it had a weird smell that didn’t quite scream "welcome." They offered both buffet and à la carte options, with the buffet priced at $10 and lunch specials starting at $7.99, plus an extra dollar for soup on the à la carte menu. The food spread? It was decent, offering a good variety of salads, starters, main courses, and desserts. But the taste? Well, if you're a fan of Blandville, you'll feel right at home. The staff? Let's just say they were a little on the rude side—maybe passive-aggressive, maybe just aggressively passive—but since we were all starving, we didn't let it bother us too much. A couple of things they could improve on: better lighting, a fresher smell, and perhaps staff who are a tad more pleasant.☺️☺️
Stopped in for supper per a suggestion by a local and what a disappointment. The food was cold, not even close to fresh and most of it had no flavor. I saw our waitress scrape another tables food off there plate into a bucket and then gave someone else refills and DID NOT wash her hands. Disgusting and will never come back. $13.99 for buffet.
