Based on the limited customer reviews available online, Hong Kong Kitchen appears to offer a mixed experience for its patrons. One reviewer had an overwhelmingly positive impression, describing the "chicken" as "immaculate" and proclaiming it to have the "best fried rice I’ve had in years." This enthusiastic feedback suggests that certain dishes at Hong Kong Kitchen are of exceptional quality and could be standout items on their menu. The reviewer also expressed their intention to return, indicating a high level of satisfaction with their meal.

Furthermore, this positive review highlighted the excellent customer service at Hong Kong Kitchen. The "lady at the front desk" was specifically commended for being "very respectful, very quick, very helpful," and for consistently assisting customers with recommendations. This suggests that the staff at Hong Kong Kitchen prioritize customer satisfaction and are knowledgeable about their menu offerings, enhancing the overall dining or takeout experience.

In contrast, another reviewer expressed significant disappointment with their experience at Hong Kong Kitchen. This customer, who usually frequents another local Chinese restaurant called Little China's kitchen, decided to try Hong Kong Kitchen when their regular spot was closed. They ordered a lunch special, drawing a direct comparison to the lunch special offered at Little China's kitchen. According to this reviewer, the lunch special at Hong Kong Kitchen was notably inferior, with smaller portions and the absence of an egg roll, which was included in their usual order elsewhere. Moreover, they found that the food at Hong Kong Kitchen simply "didn't taste the same" as their preferred restaurant, leading to a feeling of "big disappointment." This contrasting review indicates that the quality and value of certain menu items, particularly when compared to other local options, might not meet all customers' expectations.

Information regarding the environment of Hong Kong Kitchen is not explicitly detailed in the provided reviews. One review focuses primarily on the quality of the food and the customer service, while the other centers on a comparison of the lunch special to another restaurant. Therefore, there is no direct feedback on the ambiance, cleanliness, or decor of the dining area. Customers interested in dining in would need to infer based on general expectations for a local Chinese restaurant or contact Hong Kong Kitchen directly for more information about their dine-in facilities.

In terms of services, Hong Kong Kitchen appears to offer both takeout and potentially dine-in options. One reviewer ordered a lunch special, which could imply either takeout or dining in. The positive mention of the "lady at the front desk" suggests a setup where customers interact with staff for ordering and payment, common for both takeout and dine-in establishments. The quick service noted by the satisfied customer also points to efficient order processing, whether for eating at the restaurant or taking food to go. Delivery service is not explicitly mentioned in the reviews, so customers requiring delivery would need to confirm if this option is available.

The features of Hong Kong Kitchen, based on the limited feedback, include standout dishes like their chicken and fried rice, which were highly praised by one customer. This suggests that these items might be specialties of the house. The availability of lunch specials is also a feature, although the experience with it varied significantly between the two reviewers. The excellent customer service, particularly the helpfulness and respectfulness of the front desk staff, is another notable feature that could contribute to a positive overall experience for customers, regardless of whether they are dining in or taking out.

Promotional information is not included in the provided customer reviews. Chinese restaurants often offer lunch specials, combination meals, or other promotions to attract customers. The mention of a "lunch special" in one of the reviews indicates that Hong Kong Kitchen does offer such a deal, although the specific details and perceived value of it were not consistent in the feedback. To learn about any current promotions, the full menu, or the availability of dine-in or delivery services, it is recommended to contact Hong Kong Kitchen directly at (504) 729-6968 or +1 504-729-6968. They may also have menus or promotional materials available at their location.

In conclusion, Hong Kong Kitchen in New Orleans, LA, is a Chinese restaurant that has received both high praise for specific dishes like its chicken and fried rice, as well as its excellent customer service, and criticism for its lunch special when compared to a competitor. The environment is not described in detail, but it likely offers both takeout and potentially dine-in services. For local users considering Hong Kong Kitchen, the positive review highlights the potential for exceptional food and service, while the negative review serves as a reminder that experiences can vary, especially with value-oriented options like lunch specials. To get a comprehensive understanding of their offerings and any current promotions, contacting the restaurant directly is advised.

I mostly eat at Little China's kitchen on David drive, but it was closed on Tuesday so I tried Hong Kong kitchen. Big disappointment, number one I ordered the lunch special just like I do at little China kitchen, but it was nothing like it the portions were less, no egg roll and the food just didn't taste the same. I was very disappointed.

It was delicious! They asked if it was our first time ordering from here when we called in. We said yes, and they included a free order of crab Rangoon. We got the two entree meal, and it lasted for a couple of days. It’s a lot of food for the value. The fried rice was so fresh and tasty, and egg rolls were crisp and big. It’s a hole in the wall that you wouldn’t notice if you didn’t know it was there, but it is well worth it! We’ve been back again recently.

Good portion sizes and reasonably priced. The fried rice looks and tastes like someone actually cares when making it. The dinner combo is the better deal vs the lunch portions. The chicken dish in my to go order held up better than the beef dish did. I didn't find the spicy dishes to have much zip in them - will order extra spicy next time. Patient and helpful staff run the ordering counter.
