About Hong Kong Express

Hong Kong Express, situated at 1407 E Gage Ave A in Los Angeles, CA, 90001, USA, serves as a local option for those seeking Chinese cuisine. As a Chinese Restaurant, it aims to provide a range of dishes for its customers.

Based on recent customer feedback, experiences at Hong Kong Express appear to be varied. One long-time customer noted a decline in food quality over time, potentially due to changes in staffing, mentioning a perceived lack of freshness and fluctuating prices for the same orders. However, this customer indicated a recent revisit was "not too bad," with a recent order of chow mein, two sides of teriyaki, and a small order of green beans totaling $17.06.

Another frequent customer expressed initial satisfaction with portion sizes, which were described as generous enough for two people. However, this customer reported a trend of decreasing portion sizes coinciding with price increases, eventually finding a single plate barely sufficient for one person. There was also a specific mention of a dish, Beef with bell peppers, containing more bell peppers than beef. Notably, this reviewer also recounted a concerning incident involving a worm in their wonton soup, and while they continued to patronize the restaurant for a period, they ultimately conveyed disappointment.

It's important for local users to consider these recent experiences when deciding whether to dine at Hong Kong Express. While some customers have noted issues with food quality and portion sizes, individual experiences can vary. We encourage potential customers to weigh these reviews alongside their own preferences and expectations when considering Hong Kong Express for their next Chinese meal.

I was a frequent customer from the moment they first opened. However, over time the quality of food started to go down. Not sure if it was due to new staffing but you could definitely taste the difference. It wasn't as fresh as before and the prices kept changing even though I would order the same thing. I stop going after a while because it just wasn't the same. Just recently decided to give it a try again and it wasn't to bad. My total was $17.06 for chow mein and two sides of teriyaki and a small order of green beans.

Frequent customer, portions were good at the beginning but as prices started to go up the portions started to become less and less all the time 1 plate would be enough for atleast 2 person but now it's berly even enough for your self. Beef with bell peppers seem to have more bell peppers than beef. In one occasion that I got a wonton soup a worm came out on my soup and I still come and consume but it has become very disappointing at this point!

Food is great, portion are good. Food is not that greasy or burnt like other places. Color of the food is nice and bright. Employees are like whatever but not rude. Only problem is no highchair or restroom

Generous portions you can't eat it's so disgusting😥Nothing was fresh. Looks are decieving. Looks good and taste completely nasty and old. Save yourself time and dissapointments. Not even real fried rice. Noodles were old and nasty. Fried chicken not even real chicken😭 This is wild. Never again. 3 protein, one veggie egg roll 1 can coke $18 something basically $19 for nasty ass food I can't even eat🥲 Just had the soda and veggie egg roll that was a lil soggy. Huge dissapoint. Low quality. Ladies could care less, she says everyone likes it. I asked her to try it and she wouldn't. No refund just a loss of words, food and money💔 People don't care what they give people to consume anymore.
