This restaurant has been a consistent favorite for many, including those who have been patrons for over a decade, attesting to its enduring quality and appeal to local users seeking an exceptional dining experience.

For those who appreciate the art of dim sum, Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant has cultivated a strong reputation for its excellent offerings. A long-time patron, who has been visiting since their college days in 2008, affirms that the restaurant consistently "delivers" on quality. The dim sum is particularly praised for its freshness and the evident care that goes into every bite. This dedication to quality ingredients and meticulous preparation ensures a delightful culinary experience for dim sum enthusiasts.

Beyond the delectable cuisine, the environment of Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant is also a significant draw. The restaurant is described as clean and well-maintained, contributing to a comfortable and pleasant dining atmosphere. Furthermore, it boasts beautiful views of the bay, which elevates the dining experience to a truly memorable occasion. Imagine savoring delicate dim sum or flavorful seafood while watching the sunset over the water – a perfect setting for both casual meals and special gatherings.

The service at Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant is generally noted as quick and efficient. During a recent weekday lunch, a reviewer highlighted that everything was served hot and delicious, indicating a commitment to timely and high-quality food delivery even during busy periods. The consistency in maintaining such standards over many years is particularly noteworthy, as it is "rare to find a place that maintains such consistency." This reliability makes Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant a "true gem for dim sum lovers" and a place that comes highly recommended.

The stunning views are a recurring theme in customer feedback. One reviewer who visited with family exclaimed, "wow it was such a beautiful view! I loved seeing the sunset from the seats here." This confirms that the restaurant's location offers a visually appealing backdrop that enhances the overall dining experience, making it an ideal spot for enjoying a meal with loved ones.

Specific dishes at Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant have also garnered high praise. The Peking duck is a standout item, with one reviewer noting they "loved the peking duck, and the buns that came with it." While they mentioned it was "very oily," they also emphasized that it was "very tasty," suggesting a rich and flavorful preparation of this classic dish. The combination of the crispy duck skin and tender meat, served with accompanying buns, is clearly a highlight for many diners.

Another dish that left a lasting impression is the handcut noodles. The reviewer described them as their "favorite," emphasizing the significant flavor infused within the noodles themselves, making it a "memorable" dish. This suggests that the noodles are prepared with expertise and a focus on delivering a rich and satisfying taste experience.

The ambiance of the restaurant is also highly regarded, described as "perfect" for occasions such as an "extended family catch up." The combination of the beautiful views and the overall atmosphere makes it an ideal venue for social gatherings where both the food and the environment contribute to a positive and enjoyable experience.

While the majority of the feedback is overwhelmingly positive, one reviewer did mention a potential drawback, noting that "the service can be a little slower here and it takes some prodding and good Chinese to get the best experience." This suggests that while generally efficient, the service might occasionally be less prompt, and perhaps effective communication in Chinese could enhance the interaction. However, this was presented as a minor point in an otherwise "amazing find" where "the food was all so good."

In conclusion, Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant offers a compelling combination of consistently high-quality dim sum and seafood, prepared with evident care and using fresh ingredients. The restaurant boasts a clean and well-maintained environment with breathtaking views of the bay, creating a memorable dining experience. While service is generally quick and efficient, some reviewers suggest that it might occasionally be slower. Standout dishes include the flavorful Peking duck and the memorable handcut noodles. The ambiance and views make it a perfect location for family gatherings and special occasions. For local users in Emeryville and the surrounding areas seeking an authentic Chinese culinary experience with stunning scenery, Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant comes highly recommended as a true gem in the dim sum and seafood category.

Yummy dim sum and peaceful views of the bay. Not too crowded for Sunday lunch. One thing you might want to double-check is the receipt after the initial order. There were a few items missed on our visit.

Best part: hot n sour soup--my husband called it a soul hug. The Chinese broccoli was still crunchy and tasty. The sesame balls were delicious. We also had the featured dessert -- sweet mung bean soup. The views are outstanding, the service impeccable and the music soothing. Will definitely return.

We have been visited Hong Kong East Ocean Seafood Restaurant at Emeryville, mostly for dim sum, but this review was related to dinner. Environment: Fine water setting. Old carpets definitely needed to be cleaned, and windows should also be cleaned regularly. Service and food: We arrived there on recent Friday approx. 5:30 p.m., as we wanted to try the Friday fish special. Unfortunately, it was not unavailable. One female server even said it sold out--sold out during lunch (for dinner special!?). Then, we ordered another (stream) fresh fish as an alternative, but after 15 minutes, we were already consuming the other two dishes - half chicken and (very small) crab/scallop fry rice, our female server told us that they also run out of fresh fish! Finally, we ordered stir fry broccoli with meat instead. Price: little more expensive compare to other Chinese restaurants Parking: the free parking lot is relatively small (especially when they have party), hard to find parking...may need to park across the street (not sure it is allowed) Overall: Disappointed with service, especially issues related to fresh fish and Friday Special.
