About Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant

Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant is a local establishment situated at 3387 Hwy 9 E in Little River, South Carolina (SC 29566). As a Chinese restaurant, Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant aims to provide the Little River community and surrounding areas with a variety of Chinese culinary options. Customers can contact the restaurant at (843) 390-2828 or via their mobile number at +1 843-390-2828 to place orders or inquire about their services. While specific details about the restaurant's ambiance and dine-in experience are not extensively detailed online, Chinese restaurants typically offer a casual setting for enjoying meals, with takeout services often being a significant part of their operation.

Based on the limited customer reviews available, experiences at Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant appear to be mixed, with positive feedback on some dishes but concerns raised regarding others and the quality of service, particularly order accuracy. One customer highlighted the "outstanding" Pork Chow Mei Fun, describing it as both visually appealing and delicious, and recommended it. They also found the Hunan Beef to be "good," noting that it was served with white rice. However, this same reviewer was critical of the Crab Rangoon, describing them as triangles that were "puffed open" with very little filling, overcooked, and tough, even though the taste was acceptable.

Another customer reported a significant issue with their order, despite finding the food to be "fantastic." They specifically ordered steak AND shrimp hibachi but received only shrimp. Additionally, they were charged an extra $0.50 for yum yum sauce, and their meal contained zucchini and carrots, even though the ticket indicated "no Zucchini & Carrots." This discrepancy forced the customer to pick through their food due to this error. Furthermore, they expressed disappointment with the quantity of shrimp received, estimating only four or five pieces, while the dish contained a disproportionate amount of zucchini and other vegetables compared to the meat. This review strongly criticizes the order accuracy and the ratio of ingredients in the hibachi dish.

Considering these two reviews, Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant seems to have the potential to serve well-received dishes like the Pork Chow Mei Fun. However, there are apparent inconsistencies in the preparation and quality of other items, such as the Crab Rangoon, and significant issues with order accuracy and ingredient ratios, as highlighted in the review of the hibachi. The discrepancy between the order and the food received, along with the extra charge for sauce, suggests potential problems with attention to detail during order taking and preparation.

As a Chinese restaurant in Little River, Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant likely offers a standard menu featuring a variety of popular Chinese-American dishes, potentially including noodle dishes like Chow Mei Fun, beef dishes like Hunan Beef, various seafood and poultry preparations, fried rice, and appetizers such as Crab Rangoon. The mention of hibachi suggests they might also offer Japanese-inspired dishes, although this was the source of a significant complaint regarding order accuracy and ingredient balance.

To get a comprehensive understanding of Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant, including their full menu, current pricing, and the availability of dine-in or takeout services, it is recommended to contact them directly at the provided phone numbers. Customers with specific dietary restrictions or preferences should clearly communicate these when placing their orders and perhaps verify the contents before leaving the premises, given the reported issues with order accuracy.

In conclusion, Hong Kong Chinese Restaurant in Little River, SC, offers Chinese cuisine with takeout and potentially dine-in services. While some dishes, like the Pork Chow Mei Fun, have been praised, there are concerns about the quality of other items, such as the Crab Rangoon, and significant issues reported regarding order accuracy and the balance of ingredients in dishes like the hibachi. Potential customers should be aware of these mixed reviews and may wish to exercise caution when placing their orders, perhaps confirming the details to avoid discrepancies.

Pork chow mei fun: outstanding. Looked beautiful and tasted yummy!*Recommend* Hunan beef: good. Came with white rice. Crab rangoon: could be better. Triangles that were puffed open and were very lightly filled, my order was over cooked and tough. Hurt my mouth. Taste was fine.

Not going to lie , food was fantastic! but the service was bad! From the start I asked for steak AND shrimp hibachi ! I got shrimp only! I got charged an extra 50cent for yum yum sauce and my food wasn’t correct. Yes! I could’ve checked it. But the ticket says no Zucchini & Carrots & here I am picking through every bite! Imagine if I was allergic to it. Then i only got a handful of shrimps! 4 maybe 5 . It was MORE zucchini and vegetables than MEAT! Horrible!!!!!

Been visiting Jay and his family’s restaurant since late 2005. They have consistently had great quality Americanized Chinese at value price point. Friendly customer service and overall consistent.

White meat sesame chicken had the thinest slice of meat bearly recognizable. The noodle in soup have shrunk in size. Terrible, in my opinion. Rip off, paying extra for meat your not getting.
