About Hong Kong Chinese Food
Welcome to Hong Kong Chinese Food, a local Chinese restaurant situated at 1060 B Edwards Rd in Princeton, North Carolina. As a part of the "Chinese Restaurant" category, Hong Kong Chinese Food aims to provide authentic flavors to the local community. Based on recent customer feedback, the restaurant is known for the delicious taste of its food, making it a noteworthy option for those seeking Chinese cuisine in the Princeton area.
One of the primary aspects highlighted by customers is the taste of the food. A reviewer mentioned, "Food was delicious, my first time here," indicating a positive initial impression of the culinary offerings. This suggests that Hong Kong Chinese Food excels in flavor and has the potential to satisfy those looking for tasty Chinese dishes. For local residents in Princeton and surrounding areas, this positive feedback on the food's deliciousness could be a significant draw to try this establishment.
However, alongside the praise for the food's taste, there are some observations regarding the dining experience and the composition of the dishes. One customer expressed disappointment with the serving ware, noting, "We were a little disappointed they didn't have plates and just plastic silverware." This suggests that for dine-in customers, the restaurant may utilize disposable cutlery and possibly containers instead of traditional plates and silverware. This is an important consideration for those who prefer a more conventional dining setup when eating at the restaurant itself.
In light of the serving style, the same reviewer indicated a preference for takeout in the future, stating, "Next time we will get it to go." This suggests that while the food is enjoyable, the dine-in experience might not fully meet some customers' expectations due to the use of plastic silverware and the absence of plates. Therefore, for local users considering Hong Kong Chinese Food, takeout might be a preferred option for enjoying their delicious meals in the comfort of their own homes.
Another significant point raised by a customer relates to the proportions of ingredients in some dishes. The review mentions an imbalance in the ratio of vegetables to meat, specifically highlighting an excess of broccoli. The customer shared, "The food is so delicious but they serve way too much broccoli and too little meat! my husband ordered a roast pork with broccoli and he got like 6 strips of roast pork mixed into 2 pounds of broccoli ðŸ˜ðŸ˜‚ same for my steam chicken!" This feedback indicates that while the flavor of the dishes is appealing, the quantity of certain vegetables, like broccoli, might be significantly higher than the amount of protein, such as roast pork or steamed chicken.
The exaggerated comparison of "2 pounds of broccoli" to "6 strips of roast pork" serves to emphasize the perceived disproportion in the dish. Similarly, the mention of the same issue with the steamed chicken suggests that this might not be an isolated incident but a characteristic of how some dishes are prepared at Hong Kong Chinese Food. The reviewer's humorous yet critical tone, including the crying-laughing emoji, underscores their surprise at the large quantity of broccoli relative to the meat.
The customer's curiosity about the restaurant's broccoli consumption ("I wonder how much broccoli they purchase per week?") further highlights the impression that broccoli is used very generously in their cooking. For local users who enjoy a significant amount of vegetables in their Chinese dishes, this might be a positive aspect. However, for those who prefer a more balanced ratio of meat to vegetables, or a higher proportion of meat, this is an important factor to consider when ordering from Hong Kong Chinese Food.
In summary, Hong Kong Chinese Food in Princeton, NC, is recognized for the delicious taste of its food. However, based on customer reviews, there are a couple of key points to note. Firstly, the dine-in experience might involve the use of plastic silverware and a lack of traditional plates, which has led some customers to prefer takeout. Secondly, some dishes appear to have a significantly higher proportion of broccoli compared to the meat content, such as roast pork and steamed chicken. While the food is flavorful, the balance of ingredients might not meet everyone's expectations.
For local users in Princeton considering Hong Kong Chinese Food, it seems like a place where you can find tasty Chinese cuisine. If you prioritize the flavor of the food and are less concerned about the serving ware, dining in might be an option. However, if you prefer traditional plates and silverware or are particular about the ratio of meat to vegetables in your dishes, opting for takeout might be a more suitable choice, allowing you to enjoy the delicious food in your preferred setting and potentially adjust the vegetable-to-meat ratio if desired. While no specific promotional information was available in the provided reviews, the consistent mention of delicious food suggests that the culinary aspect is a strong point for Hong Kong Chinese Food. It would be beneficial for potential customers to keep in mind the serving style and the reported proportions of ingredients when making their dining decisions.

Food is always right and ready when I get there to pick it up. It's always hot which is great bc when I get home in clayton it's still hot .
Order the pepper steak got five piece of little steak and all bell peppers took the onions off and they pile their peppers in there if you've actually looked past that window that kitchen is disgusting I will not eat there no more
Very quaint little hole-in-the-wall eatery off the highway, serving classic Chinese-American dishes. The food was VERY good; well seasoned, flavorful, and HOT. Note that any scallop or crab dishes are imitation and not the real animal. So if you're not a big fan of fish cakes you'll likely be disappointed if you're not aware of this beforehand. Would definitely stop here again if passing through the area again.
