About Hong Kong Buffet

Hong Kong Buffet is a Chinese restaurant located at 2155 W Main St in Lowell, Michigan. Operating as a Chinese buffet, it offers a variety of Asian dishes in a buffet-style setting for local diners.

Recent customer reviews indicate several concerns regarding the current state of Hong Kong Buffet. One reviewer described a very quiet atmosphere with no music or television, which they found strange. They also noted that there was only one staff member working who, despite being alone, managed to keep drinks refilled while also handling food preparation. However, this reviewer mentioned a dark interior with some lights off, sticky floors in the food serving area, and food that was warm but not hot, with fried rice tasting burnt. They also reported that sushi is no longer served and that several food pans on the buffet were completely empty, expressing disappointment in the decline of the restaurant.

Another recent visitor echoed similar sentiments, noting that the restaurant was sparsely occupied in the evening. They observed that much of the food on the buffet appeared to have been sitting for a long time, with limited quantities and several empty trays. While some of the food tasted okay, other items were overcooked, leading this reviewer to conclude they would not return, suggesting it might be better during a potentially busier lunch service.

Based on this recent feedback, potential customers should be aware of reported issues concerning the restaurant's atmosphere, cleanliness, food temperature and quality, and the availability of buffet items. Hong Kong Buffet can be contacted at (616) 897-6688 or +1 616-897-6688.

It was so quiet in there there was no music, no TV playing, it was so strange. There was only one person working. However, it wasn't too busy she kept ours and the other peoples cups full. While trying to multitaskingand make food in the back, she did a wonderful job. The place was very dark inside some lights were off as shown in one of the pictures. The floor where the food was being served was sticky. The food itself was not very good. It was warm but not hot. The fried rice tasted like it was burnt. They don't serve sushi anymore. And there were 2 empty spots with completely empty pans, nothing was in them. What happened to this place, It used to be so good.

It's been many years since I went to this buffet restaurant in Lowell but I thought I would try it again tonight. I arrived at 6:30 p.m. and there was only one other party seated in the restaurant. That should have been a clue. Most of the food on the buffet looked like it had been in the warming trays for a long time. The quantity was very limited in each tray and several were empty. That makes sense if they don't get a lot of customers so they don't make much food. Some of the food tasted okay, some was way overdone. Based on my experience I would not go back. Maybe they are a better play for lunch if they are busier.

The good part of this place was that it was quiet, nicely decorated, and the food was decent. The big drawback was at the selection was very very small. Their salad bar had lettuce, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, some pasta, couple of dressings, and I that's it. They had watermelon and muskmelon to offer for fruit while I was there. It looked like there might have at some point been bananas with the red sauce but they were out while I was there. They did seem to run out of things and take a while to refill. When you have a small selection that that's quite a bummer. As far as entrees and sides they had three or four different kinds of chicken, French fries, chicken nuggets, one kind of pork, dumplings, egg rolls, they have some sweet shrimp, noodles, White rice, and a cheese and crab bake that was surprisingly sweet instead of savory. As far as desserts they had three kinds of cookies, two different kinds of cake, a couple of jellos, tapioca pudding, chocolate pudding, butterscotch pudding, and banana pudding. Most of places I go have two or three tables more of buffet offerings. Just on the entrees and sides alone, much less more desserts, ice cream machines, and much bigger salad bar offerings. The food wasn't bad there just wasn't much to pick from. The staff was nice and it was clean inside. The atmosphere was pleasant and pretty. When we first got there we were the only people there. And I think maybe two or three more tables got used while we were eating. I probably would not go back there again just because of the lack of selection, but if they were to add more items then I would.

Arrived soon after opening. The food tasted like it was sitting out for hours. Table beside us walked out due to the food tasting stale. Haven't been here for years, but I remember the food being a lot better.

We've lived in Lowell for about 6 years now and I truly do not understand how this place hasn't closed down yet. This one is based off of December 25th. I went in at about 4 ish close to 5 and ordered 8 piece fried chicken wings and after I paid, the lady said " it'll be a few minutes". Less than 5 minutes later she comes with bag, I replied with " that was quick". Anyways, I left and got home and when I opened up the box the presentation of the chicken looked really good but then I eat the first flat wing and the after taste was weird, then I ate another one and saw some pink (smh) so then I picked up the juiciest looking drum and opened it and sure enough it was uncooked!. Brought it back. Only eat there if you're a peasant.
