About Hong Kong Buffet

Hong Kong Buffet is a Chinese restaurant located at 1206 W 76 Country Blvd in Branson, Missouri. As a Chinese restaurant in the Branson area, Hong Kong Buffet primarily operates as a buffet, offering a variety of Chinese dishes for dine-in customers. For residents and tourists in Branson seeking a Chinese buffet, Hong Kong Buffet provides a local option.

Based on the available online customer reviews, the experiences at Hong Kong Buffet are overwhelmingly negative, with both reviewers expressing significant concerns about the quality and freshness of the food, as well as issues with cleanliness. One reviewer, despite a love for Chinese food and being aware of less-than-high reviews, decided to try the buffet and described it as a "big mistake!" Their primary complaint was that the food was "very old," with vegetables being overcooked due to prolonged time on the steam pans. They concluded that everything had been sitting out for a long time.

The second reviewer echoed these sentiments, stating that while the place had some variety of foods, "everything is old." They further elaborated that an excessive amount of sauce was used, which they felt completely masked the food's natural flavors and texture. A specific example was the fried rice, which had so much "crunch" to it that the reviewer chose not to eat it. They also described the food as generally "water down" and lacking good taste. In addition to the food quality issues, this reviewer raised serious concerns about the cleanliness of the silverware, noting that new pieces had "so much dust and stuff on it" that it made them hesitant to find a clean utensil.

Given the strong negative feedback from both reviewers, the environment of Hong Kong Buffet is not described in a positive light, although specific details about the decor or ambiance are not provided. The concerns about the cleanliness of the silverware suggest a potential lack of attention to hygiene within the dining area. The descriptions of old and overcooked food might also imply a lack of proper maintenance and turnover of the buffet offerings.

The primary service offered by Hong Kong Buffet is a dine-in Chinese buffet, where customers serve themselves from a selection of dishes. The negative reviews do not comment on the attentiveness or friendliness of the staff, focusing instead on the quality of the food and the cleanliness of the utensils. Therefore, it is difficult to assess the level of customer service provided beyond the availability of the buffet itself.

Features of Hong Kong Buffet include its buffet format, offering a variety of Chinese dishes. However, based on the customer feedback, the quality and freshness of these dishes are significant concerns. The excessive use of sauces and the potential for food to be old and overcooked appear to be negative features. The availability of silverware is a basic feature, but the reported dust and debris on them indicate a lack of proper cleaning, which is a serious issue.

No promotional information, such as special pricing, discounts, or featured dishes, is mentioned in the provided reviews. Given the strongly negative feedback regarding the fundamental aspects of food quality and cleanliness, it is unlikely that any promotions would outweigh these concerns for potential customers.

In conclusion, Hong Kong Buffet in Branson, MO, appears to be a Chinese buffet that has received very negative feedback from recent customers. Both reviewers cited significant issues with the age and quality of the food, including overcooked vegetables and excessively sauced dishes. One reviewer also highlighted concerns about the cleanliness of the silverware. Based on this limited but consistent negative feedback, potential customers may want to exercise caution when considering dining at Hong Kong Buffet. I love Chinese food, so even that the reviews were not too high. We desided to try it out. Big mistake! Food was very old. Vegetables were already over cooked because the time they were on the steam pans. Everything was seating there for long time.

The place has some variety of foods but everything is old. There's so much sauce that it totally cook the food. The fried rice had so much crunch to it that I just left it. Everything water down and don't taste good. New silverware had so much dust and stuff on it that it scared me trying to get a clean one.

Hong Kong used to be me go to restaurant and not going there for over 5 years, they have the same stuff which I love but the peach cobbler tasted like cardboard, coffee cake was a bit sour, and the pork egg rolls tasted like rubber. Unfortunately I won't be back due to these items. Peach cobbler is a comfort food for me but a bit dry also and stuck to the bottom of the pan. I'm so sorry for this type of review and wish I could of had a better on but I about threw up. I'm sorry again.

Excellent food! Adequate choices for a vegetarian, but it would have been nice to have a vegetarian noodle option. The ice cream was not great... There's a no frills atmosphere, and a child at a table near us listened to videos at full volume, disturbing our peace. The staff should have asked them to turn it down or off.
