Operating under the category of a Chinese Restaurant, Hong Kong Buffet provides a self-service dining experience where customers can sample a diverse array of appetizers, main courses, and desserts. Buffet restaurants typically offer a casual and family-friendly environment, allowing diners to choose and enjoy a variety of foods at their own pace. While specific details about the ambiance of Hong Kong Buffet are not extensively provided, the mention of cleanliness and the state of the restaurant's interior in customer reviews offers some insight.

The concept of a Chinese buffet often includes a wide selection of popular dishes such as fried rice, noodles, various chicken, beef, and seafood preparations, as well as spring rolls, egg rolls, and soups. Desserts typically range from fresh fruits to pastries and ice cream. However, the limited customer feedback available provides specific insights into the quality and presentation of these offerings at Hong Kong Buffet.

According to one customer who visited Hong Kong Buffet, the dining experience was significantly negative. They reported that "the food was cold" and that "nothing tasted as it should." This reviewer also expressed concerns about the cleanliness of the restaurant, particularly mentioning the state of the restroom and questioning the overall hygiene practices, stating, "This place is nasty and horrible! If they can't fix the bathroom stale, how are they serving you quality food?" This feedback raises serious concerns about the food temperature and the general cleanliness of the establishment.

Another customer shared a more moderate but still critical review after a lunch visit. They mentioned that the "food quality was just okay" and not compelling enough for a return visit from a distance. This reviewer noted inconsistencies in the food, with some items being better than others. A specific issue highlighted was that many of the sauced dishes were "soupy/runny" rather than having a thick consistency, exemplified by the "sesame chicken" that "almost slid right off my husband’s plate." Additionally, they found some items to be "bland or cold," which was unexpected given their arrival shortly after the opening time. This suggests potential issues with food preparation, temperature control, and the consistency of sauces.

Furthermore, this second reviewer also commented on the cleanliness and maintenance of the restaurant itself, stating, "There’s room for improvement between the food and cleanliness of the restaurant itself. The carpets were in bad shape. I still don’t know why places have carpet in restaurants." This observation points to potential issues with the upkeep and overall aesthetic of the dining environment.

On a more positive note, the second reviewer mentioned that "service was good and priced fairly." This suggests that while there might be shortcomings in food quality and cleanliness, the interaction with the staff was satisfactory, and the pricing was perceived as reasonable.

Given these customer reviews, it appears that while Hong Kong Buffet operates as a Chinese buffet restaurant in Leonardtown, MD, there are significant concerns regarding the quality and temperature of the food, as well as the cleanliness and maintenance of the premises. Potential local users should be aware of these reported issues when considering dining at this establishment.

Regarding services and features typically associated with buffet restaurants, Hong Kong Buffet likely offers a wide selection of dishes, allowing customers to try various items. The all-you-can-eat format is a key feature, providing value for those who enjoy variety and larger portions. However, the reported issues with food quality and temperature may detract from these potential benefits.

Promotional information is not available in the provided text. Buffet restaurants sometimes offer special deals for certain days or times, but without further information, it is impossible to comment on any current promotions at Hong Kong Buffet.

For local users in Leonardtown, MD, who are considering a visit to Hong Kong Buffet, it would be prudent to take the recent customer reviews into account. The reports of cold food, inconsistent quality, and concerns about cleanliness are significant factors to consider. While the service was reportedly good and the price fair, these aspects might be overshadowed by the issues raised regarding the food and environment.

We went here today, and the food was cold. Nothing tasted as it should. We went into the restroom, and this was their quick fix. Sad, this is one of SMC only buffets, and the lyrics can do better. This place is nasty and horrible! If they can't fix the bathroom stale, how are they serving you quality food?

Family and I went for lunch. This was our first, and likely last visit. The food quality was just okay. It’s not something I’d drive 14 miles for again. Some items were better than others. A lot of the items with sauces weren’t very thick more so soupy/runny. The sesame chicken for example almost slid right off my husband’s plate. I’m used to a sticky based sauce. Other things were bland or cold. We arrived 35 minutes into opening. I didn’t expect anything to be cold so soon after opening. There’s room for improvement between the food and cleanliness of the restaurant itself. The carpets were in bad shape. I still don’t know why places have carpet in restaurants. Aside from that, service was good and priced fairly.

Food is pretty decent but I feel like it used to be better it had been a few years since I had been here and I didn't recognize any of the staff so I assume it's now owned by different people.

Completely disappointed. Let's start with the egg rolls.... omg so much Chinese 5 spice, it took my breath away. Our fried dumplings were disgusting!!! The meat inside was tasted rancid and they were so burnt and smelled of old burnt oil. Then our soup, beef Yat Gaw Mein... the meat was so gross, i couldn't even chew it, the broth was greasy and had no flavor, plus the hard boiled eggs were missing. My husband's beef and broccoli was not edible. The meat again was so tough and chewy. Then my submug wonton smelled like rotten seafood. I couldn't even take the smell, I closed the lid and threw it in the trash. We spent almost $50 on food and the only thing we ate was the rice. Never again!!!
