About Hong Kong BBQ Dim Sum & Kitchen
Welcome to Hong Kong BBQ Dim Sum & Kitchen, a Chinese Restaurant located at 10550 Camino Ruiz, San Diego, CA 92126, USA. While its name suggests a focus on both BBQ and Dim Sum, customer reviews provide some nuanced perspectives on its offerings.
One reviewer found the overall food to be just "okay" and rather unimpressive, with the exception of the salt and pepper chicken wings ordered as a party tray, which they absolutely loved and highly recommend in that format. They felt that the regular dishes and dim sum were underwhelming, despite the prices not being overly unreasonable. On a positive note, this customer praised the excellent service and comfortable environment but did mention observing the use of a microwave, which resulted in their food being a bit cold despite this.
Another reviewer described the restaurant as a "delicious hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant" and noted that while it's described as a dim sum restaurant, the dim sum selection is somewhat limited. They still found the Chinese food to be tasty, specifically mentioning the well-made House Special Chow Mein (crispy), even though it unexpectedly contained fish. They also enjoyed the Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings), gyoza, and baked pork buns. This reviewer pointed out that the restaurant is located within an Asian grocery store but offers a nice establishment with good Chinese food.

If you're looking for BBQ and are aware that the dim sum selection might be limited, this tucked-away Chinese restaurant could be worth a visit, especially for their highly recommended salt and pepper chicken wings party tray.

It's okay. I was rather unimpressed by the food even though I absolutely loved the party trays from this restaurant. Essentially, if you want food, make sure you are ordering the salt and pepper chicken wings from this restaurant as a party tray. The dishes and dim sum are super underwhelming even though the prices aren't overtly unreasonable. The service was excellent and the area was comfortable though. I did notice they used the microwave and I will say that the food somehow was still a bit cold. I don't really care if the microwave was used but I wish the food was hotter.
Delicious hole-in-the-wall Chinese restaurant. First thing, this establishment is described as a dim sum restaurant. While they do have some dim sum, the selection is a bit limited. Just wanted to note that if you were planning on entertaining a full dim sum experience. Having said that, the Chinese food here is tasty. We had the House Special Chow Mein (crispy) and it was well-made (although, the dish included fish, which we weren't expecting, but the dish was still tasty). The Xiao Long Bao (soup dumplings), gyoza, and baked pork buns were enjoyable as well. The restaurant is tucked away in an Asian grocery store, but it is a nice establishment with good Chinese food.
Really nice restaurant in the shoping area near Target. Tons of dishes to choose form and plenty of parking. Get some nice food here for lunch or dinner and then do your grcoery shopping in the vietnamese grocery store that it's conencted to.
Reasonably priced dim sum. I liked the sticky rice leaves and baked creamy egg buns. The orange chicken was good but a little bit too overpowering for my palate. The other buns and dumplings were okay. I would definitely recommend going here but stick with what you know you like.
Everything was good and up to par as per usual. However, the " pork chop with onion" can be heavy on the maple/caramelized sugar after tone if you are not expecting it. I would recommend the "pork chop with salt and pepper instead. The deep fried whole fish in sweet and sour sauce is the best in SoCal .
