Recent customer reviews regarding Hong Kong #1 indicate significant issues with both the food quality and the customer service. One review describes a "very disappointing experience" from the outset, noting that the person at the counter was unfriendly. The dishes ordered were bourbon chicken and fried chicken wings. The wings were considered a "letdown" due to the small portion size of only four pieces. The bourbon chicken was described as even worse, being saturated in a thick, syrupy gravy that tasted more like maple syrup than the expected flavor, and its appearance was likened to chicken soup.

Adding to the negative experience, this customer recounted difficulties in obtaining basic dining supplies. Despite it being clear that multiple people would be sharing the food, the staff member allegedly provided pork chopsticks and paper plates one at a time upon request. The reviewer described the staff member's attitude as rude and unprofessional, making them feel like a burden. Ultimately, this customer concluded that their experience was not worthwhile and stated their intention not to return.

Another recent review detailed an extremely negative interaction over the phone. This potential customer called the location with a couple of questions regarding substitutions due to an allergy, intending to place an order afterward. However, the person who answered the phone reportedly told the caller that they were talking too much and demanded their order immediately. When the caller stated they would take their business elsewhere, the staff member's rude and unprofessional demeanor was further emphasized. This reviewer strongly advised others not to spend their money at Hong Kong #1 due to the "very freaking rude people" encountered.

Based on these two recent reviews, potential customers should be aware of significant concerns regarding both the food quality and the customer service at Hong Kong #1. The food was described as poorly prepared, with issues in portion size, flavor (bourbon chicken tasting like maple syrup), and presentation (watery chow mein, chicken in excessive gravy). Additionally, the customer service was characterized as unfriendly, rude, and unaccommodating, both in person and over the phone.

As a Chinese restaurant, Hong Kong #1 offers dishes such as bourbon chicken and fried chicken wings, and likely other standard Chinese fare. However, the feedback suggests that the quality of these dishes may be subpar. The small portion size of the wings and the unusual preparation of the bourbon chicken are specific points of concern. While the menu may include a variety of options, the reported issues with these two items indicate a potential lack of quality control or attention to traditional recipes.

Information regarding the environment and ambiance of Hong Kong #1 is not provided in the given reviews. The focus of the feedback is entirely on the food and the service interactions.

The services offered by Hong Kong #1 appear to include both takeout and potentially dine-in options, as customers have ordered and consumed food. However, the quality of the service has been strongly criticized in both reviews. The in-person service was described as unfriendly and unhelpful, particularly in providing necessary dining supplies. The phone service was reported as rude and dismissive, even before an order was placed. These accounts suggest a significant issue with customer service at this establishment.

Features of Hong Kong #1 are not positively highlighted in the recent reviews. The feedback focuses on negative aspects such as poor food quality, small portion sizes, and rude customer service. There are no mentions of any unique or positive features that might attract customers. The negative experiences reported strongly outweigh any potential positive attributes that are not mentioned.

Currently, there is no promotional information available for Hong Kong #1 in the provided text. Given the serious negative feedback regarding both the food and the service, any promotions would likely be overshadowed by these concerns for potential customers. Local users are strongly advised to consider the recent reviews before deciding to patronize this establishment. Seeking alternative Chinese dining options in the Monroe area may be a prudent choice based on the information available in these reviews.

In conclusion, recent customer reviews for Hong Kong #1 in Monroe, NC, paint a concerning picture of both the food quality and the customer service. Reports of poorly prepared food with unusual flavors and small portions, coupled with accounts of unfriendly and rude staff interactions, suggest a significantly negative dining experience. Potential customers should carefully consider this feedback before choosing to dine at or order from Hong Kong #1. Exploring other Chinese restaurant options in the local area is recommended based on the issues highlighted in these reviews.

Very disappointing experience. The lady at the counter was unfriendly right from the start. We ordered the bourbon chicken and fried chicken wings. The wings were a letdown—only four pieces in the order. The bourbon chicken was even worse; it was drowning in a thick, syrupy gravy that tasted more like maple syrup than anything else. It looked more like chicken soup. To make matters worse, when I asked for pork chopsticks and paper plates, she only gave me one at a time, even though it was clear there were multiple people sharing the food. Her attitude was rude and unprofessional, treating us like we were a burden. Definitely not worth it. We won’t be coming back.

Just called this location, had a couple of questions before I order just to make sure I could substitute something because I’m allergic to it. Woman on the phone said you talk too much. What do you want order now? I told her that’s fine. I will be taking Services somewhere else. Very freaking rude people, do not spend your money here

I got food to go. Therefore the service and atmosphere didn’t matter to me. However, I think it’s the worst Chinese food I have ever had. Not to mention how much it cost. It was extremely over priced especially for the lack of quality. I will not be going back.

Beef with broccoli and PFR was good and savory. The sweet tea was good, not to sweet, how I prefer it. Staff was nice.
