The unique feature of Hong Coffee & Bakery lies in its delightful fusion of Chinese culinary elements with the offerings of a traditional bakery and coffee shop. We also offer a selection of quality coffee and tea beverages, making us an ideal spot for breakfast, brunch, afternoon tea, or a light meal.
On the "bakery" side of our offerings, you can expect to find a tempting array of freshly baked goods. This might include soft and fluffy Asian-style breads, sweet and savory buns filled with various ingredients, delicate pastries, and a selection of cakes and tarts. Many of these items incorporate unique Asian flavors and ingredients, offering a delightful departure from standard Western bakery fare. Think of fluffy milk bread, sweet coconut buns, savory pork floss buns, and perhaps even traditional Chinese pastries with fillings like lotus seed paste or red bean.
Our "coffee & tea" selection is carefully curated to complement our baked goods and provide a satisfying beverage for any time of day. You can likely find a range of coffee options, from classic espresso-based drinks to perhaps some Asian-inspired coffee concoctions. Similarly, our tea menu might include traditional Chinese teas as well as other popular varieties. These beverages are the perfect accompaniment to our baked treats or can be enjoyed on their own in our comfortable setting.
While we may be categorized as a "Chinese Restaurant," our menu might also feature some light meal options or dishes that blend Chinese flavors with café-style offerings. This could include items like noodle soups, congee (rice porridge), or perhaps even some lighter savory dishes that incorporate Chinese ingredients or cooking techniques. The specific menu will vary, but the underlying theme is a harmonious blend of Chinese culinary influences with the comforting and familiar aspects of a bakery and coffee shop.

This place is unassuming, but then they sucker punch you with HANDS DOWN the BEST WONTON NOODLES EVER. I have yet to eat more perfect wonton noodles with dumplings. The broth is simple and clean and delicious and the dumplings are amazinngggg as well. I have gotten multiple dishes here and have had the most awesome taste bud adventures. If you're not a noodle person (le gasp), you can't go wrong with the curry and the hainan chicken. I don't know how they do it. The food is rich in flavor but I don't feel greasy or anything after eating it. I guess it's just super fresh ingredients, homemade, and skillfully cooked food. Try it to believe it!!
Hole in the wall, hidden gem, mom & pop vibes! they take card! I can't get over these egg noodles in this wonton mein! seems like most places serve it up clumped together and you need to split your chopsticks to break them apart - BUT NOT HERE. they are silky and bouncy! and the soup is nicely flavored, enhancing everything in the dish. you also get four big wontons filled with plump shrimp and pork. I also love their hainan chicken, well seasoned, and the filet mignon has a nice kick. Nice selection of traditional asian dessert options in individual serving sides (tofu pudding with ginger syrup, "che thai", ube tofu, etc.) and they also sell their wontons/dumplings frozen + noodles in packages. parking is available on the street! limited seating, but a lot of folks are doing takeaway!
Yum! Clean, simple Hong Kong comfort dishes for take out. Their $11.95 dumpling egg noodle soup was amazing! They have both yellow wrapped (Hong Kong style) wonton, and white wrapped (Shanghai style) dumpling. I got confused thinking dumplings was regular dumplings, but I think they mean white wrapped wontons. They also sell frozen wontons (50pc) $27 for wontons, $30 for white skin wontons/they call dumplings. Takes credit card. $11.95 Dumpling Soup includes 8 dumplings. If you want noodles, then it'll include 4 dumplings with a choice of noodles (flat, vermicelli, or egg). The dumplings are white wontons. $4-$6 Herbal, dessert drinks to fresh tofu. My $4.95 Green bean and seaweed dessert was refreshing, and anti-inflammatory. Looking forward to trying more items like their regular wontons, beef dishes, $12.95 hainan chicken on rice, and $9.95+ congee. Apparently their receipt says Congee & Noodle House (previously what their business was called?). Located next to a water refill place if wanted to also refill there.
Wow. This place is so nostalgic!!! First of all the hainan chicken is perfectly cooked. Even without using the dipping sauce, it is incredibly tasty. A good portion too. LOVE. And we took home two gallon sized bags of frozen dumplings and wontons. They were easy to pop in a boiling pot and taste so good. The fillings were generous. We will absolutely be back to this mom and pop shop. One of the owners ran the front of house and she was so sweet. Such a gem in Monterey Park.
Their chicken rice is top notch. Not much service since it’s a Mom and pop shop. Would come back again!
