About Hong Anh Palace

Welcome to Hong Anh Palace, a Chinese restaurant located at 10046 N Port Washington Rd, Mequon, WI 53092, USA. For many years, Hong Anh Palace has been serving the local community with authentic Chinese cuisine, earning a reputation for its friendly service and delicious food. You can reach them at (262) 241-7768 or +1 262-241-7768.

Customers consistently praise the kindness and patience of the owners, creating a welcoming and comfortable dining atmosphere. Their takeout service is particularly popular, with many recommending that you place your orders well in advance due to high demand – a testament to the quality of their offerings.

The menu at Hong Anh Palace caters to a variety of tastes and dietary preferences. A standout dish, especially loved by those familiar with New York City's Chinese cuisine, is the Hot and Sour soup. For vegan diners, the restaurant offers thoughtful tofu substitutions, ensuring there are appealing options for everyone.

While online information may have previously indicated a lunch buffet, recent feedback suggests that this service may no longer be available. It's advisable to confirm the current dine-in and takeout hours directly with the restaurant, as signage on the door has indicated takeout-only service at certain times.

Based on recent customer experiences, the Hot and Sour soup is described as okay, featuring plenty of tofu and bamboo shoots, though some felt it could benefit from a more balanced flavor, particularly a stronger vinegar note. The mixed appetizer plate, however, receives high praise. It includes a large, flavorful egg roll filled with various ingredients including small shrimp, perfectly fried and tasty wontons, an average beef skewer, a uniquely shaped shrimp that resembles an onion ring, and a chicken breast with a significant amount of breading. This platter is served with duck sauce and spicy mustard sauce.

The wait staff is generally attentive, ensuring water glasses are refilled. While napkins may not automatically be placed at each table, they are readily provided upon request.

In summary, Hong Anh Palace offers a wide range of Chinese dishes with notable strengths in their takeout service and certain menu items like the mixed appetizer platter and Hot and Sour soup. The friendly service and accommodating approach to dietary needs, such as vegan options, make it a noteworthy choice for Chinese cuisine in the Mequon area. Please be aware that the availability of a lunch buffet and specific dine-in hours may vary, so it's recommended to contact the restaurant directly for the most up-to-date information.

We have been going to Hong Anh for many years. The people who own it are such kind people, endlessly patient with everyone. Their take out is so popular that you have to plan hours ahead when ordering. Not a problem for us!! It's worth the wait!! My husband grew up in NYC, and he absolutely loves the Hot and Sour soup. Our one daughter, who is now vegan, very much likes their tofu substitution. There is truly something for everyone here.

I wanted a nice Chinese buffet lunch. I looked up this restaurant that I used to visit frequently. Google map information stated there would be a lunch buffet. There is NO LUNCH BUFFET. This information should be updated. I was disappointed but decided to eat anyway. I think they’re only open from 11 to 2 for dine in. A sign on the door said take out only (at certain times). I ordered a bowl of hot and sour soup ($3.50) and the mixed appetizer plate ($10). The soup was okay but not great. It was a small cup of soup and I thought it wasn’t much considering the 3.50 price. It had plenty of tofu and bamboo shoots but not much meat, though there was some. The flavor was not balanced either; it was needed more of the vinegar flavor. The appetizer platter was excellent. The egg roll was huge and stuffed full of various ingredients including tiny shrimp. It was hot and crunchy outside. The wontons were fried perfectly and were also very tasty. The beef skewer was average. It didn’t have much flavor and was not tender. The shrimp was shaped into a circle and at first I thought it was an onion ring. The chicken was a nice piece of chicken breast but it had too much breading on it for my taste. Five stars for this dish. The appetizer platter was served with small pitchers of duck sauce and spicy mustard sauce. I drank water and the wait staff did a pretty good job keeping my glass full. I could have had a few more refills but I understand they’ve got a lot to do. For some reason I didn’t have any napkins at my table, just the silverware. I had to request napkins.

Best Chinese food, hands down. The owner always has a smile on his face and puts a smile on mine. Amazing egg rolls, crab Rangoon, fried rice, egg drop soup. My kids love watching the koi in the tank. You won’t regret ordering here!

We’ve been getting take out & dining in at Hong Ahn since they were in their original location at Mequon Pavilions. This is the best Chinese food I’ve ever had, and the quality has been consistent for over a decade. The owner is the sweetest too.

We've been fans since the 'old' location. Can't comment on the atmosphere as we're strictly carryout. Food is fresh and the menu offers a variety of choices. Seems to be a family operation and that matters.
