About Hon's Wok III

Hon's Wok III is a Chinese restaurant located at 6900 Olive Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63130, USA. They can be contacted at (314) 721-4660 or their mobile number +1 314-721-4660. Based on recent customer reviews available online, it is important for potential local users to be aware of some significant concerns raised regarding the restaurant's service, food quality, and business practices.

One reviewer described Hon's Wok III as "the worst chop suey joint in the entire STL area!" This is a strong and negative assessment of the food quality. The reviewer further elaborated on their past experiences, mentioning that even after the pandemic-related restrictions had eased, the restaurant continued to make customers stand outside, despite having a "reasonably nice dine-in" area previously. When the customer complained about this practice, they reported that the cashier expressed indifference to their return. This indicates a potentially dismissive attitude towards customer feedback and satisfaction.

The same reviewer revisited the restaurant after they began allowing customers inside again, but their experience did not improve. They expressed the opinion that the restaurant does not seem to value its customers, citing the poor quality of the food being served. Specifically, they mentioned that ingredients beyond rice were "scarce" and that the meat provided "barely qualifies as scraps!" This paints a picture of substandard ingredients and a lack of generosity in the portions of key components of the dishes. Consequently, the reviewer and their wife vowed never to return and advised others with "self respect" to avoid being charged "premium for garbage." This strongly suggests a significant issue with the food quality at Hon's Wok III according to this customer's experience.

Another review echoed concerns about the customer service and highlighted unusual business practices. This reviewer stated that a "lady had an attitude," indicating a negative interaction with a staff member. Furthermore, they reported being forced to pay a $10 fee to use their card. This is an unusual and potentially off-putting policy for customers who prefer to pay with credit or debit cards for smaller transactions. The reviewer also described a strange environment upon entering the premises, noting that "all the lights were off" and that a "barricade" had been built at the front door. This description suggests an unwelcoming or even concerning atmosphere, contributing to a "really bad customer experience." The combination of rude service, a mandatory card fee, and a peculiar physical setup raises significant red flags about the overall operation of Hon's Wok III.

Based on these two recent customer reviews, there is a consistent theme of negative experiences at Hon's Wok III. The issues raised include poor food quality with scarce ingredients and subpar meat, rude and unhelpful customer service, and unusual business practices such as forcing a $10 card payment minimum and maintaining a strange physical environment within the restaurant. These are serious concerns that potential customers should consider.

Given the overwhelmingly negative nature of the recent feedback, it is challenging to objectively describe positive aspects of the environment, services, or features of Hon's Wok III based solely on this information. The reviews do not mention any positive attributes or specific dishes that might be considered highlights. The focus is entirely on the negative experiences encountered by these customers.

Therefore, local users considering dining at or ordering from Hon's Wok III should be aware of the significant criticisms regarding food quality and customer service. The reported mandatory card fee and the unusual physical setup also warrant consideration. Without any positive feedback to balance these negative accounts, it is difficult to recommend this establishment based on the information available.

It is also important to note that the provided information does not include any promotional details for Hon's Wok III. Given the negative reviews, it is perhaps understandable that no current promotions were mentioned by these customers. Potential customers would need to contact the restaurant directly to inquire about any specials or offers, although the reported customer service issues might make this interaction less appealing.

In conclusion, the recent customer reviews for Hon's Wok III present a concerning picture of this Chinese restaurant in St. Louis. The issues raised include very poor food quality with scarce and low-grade ingredients, rude and unhelpful customer service, and unusual business practices such as a forced $10 minimum for card payments and a strange physical environment. Potential local users should carefully consider these negative experiences before deciding to patronize Hon's Wok III. The available information does not highlight any positive aspects of the restaurant's environment, services, or features, and no promotional information is provided. Therefore, based on this recent feedback, it would be prudent for those seeking Chinese cuisine in the St. Louis area to explore other options with more positive and consistent customer reviews.

This is the worst chop suey joint in the entire STL area! Long after the pandemic was over they made their customers stand outside what was once a reasonably nice dine-in. When I complained the cashier told me she didn't care if I came back! Fast forward and they've started to allow people inside the door, so I decided to give them another chance. I don't think they like their customers given the quality of the stuff they push out. Ingredients beyond rice are scarce and the meat barely qualifies as scraps! My wife and I will NEVER GO THERE AGAIN. IF YOU HAVE SELF RESPECT DON'T ALLOW THESE PEOPLE TO CHARGE YOU PREMIUM FOR GARBAGE

Lady had an attitude, and they force you to pay $10 to use your card. I went in and all the lights were off and they built a barricade at the front door. It was weird and a really bad customer experience.

I ordered a whole order of Special fried rice and crab Rangoon. The rice was disgusting !!!!!! The shrimp had this weird texture to it and wasn’t deveined, the ham had this weird unknown taste to it... not like meat at all! The Rangoon tastes like sour cream and ranch dip. I usually go for a sweeter Rangoon, I was disappointed all around. Then to top it off, they don’t give a free drink with a purchase over $20, and they charge 5¢ for every sauce packet. Never going back after this encounter.

My Mom used gets food here all the time. Food is decent.... Review would've been better, but they hung up on us while we were ordering today, so I won't be patronizing this establishment anymore, and hopefully you don't either. If you do, good luck! They aren't very patient, which is crazy to me, but so be it.
