About Hollywood Casino & Hotel Joliet

Hollywood Casino & Hotel Joliet, located at 777 Hollywood Blvd, Joliet, IL 60436, USA, is presented under the platform category of Chinese Restaurants. However, it is important to clarify that this establishment is primarily a casino and hotel offering gaming and accommodation services, not a Chinese restaurant.

Based on recent customer reviews, experiences at Hollywood Casino & Hotel Joliet appear to be mixed. Regarding the hotel, one guest who paid a $130 rate plus an $11 resort fee reported that the value was not commensurate with the experience. The check-in process was described as rushed and unwelcoming. The hotel rooms were noted to be old and dated, with issues such as water stains on the ceiling and a smell of stale cigarette smoke. Additionally, the air conditioning was reported to be loud and rattling.

The hotel places a $50 hold on credit cards for incidentals, which the reviewer found unusual as there were no apparent services or products available to charge to the room. Furthermore, the hotel is not directly connected to the casino, requiring a walk between the two facilities. While the walk itself was not considered long, this differs from the connected structure of many casino hotels.

Inside the casino, one visitor described the environment as excessively hot and humid, making it uncomfortable even while seated. This was attributed to the heat generated by the numerous slot machines and lights, possibly indicating issues with the air conditioning system in the casino area.

Another review detailed a negative experience at the RV park associated with the facility. The water was known to be off, which was not the main issue. The guest reported having to move another guest's belongings from their assigned site, only to find that the 50-amp power outlet did not work. The RV site was also described as unclean, with food scraps and deer feces present. A complaint to customer service reportedly resulted in an unhelpful response. This guest stated they would not return.

In summary, while Hollywood Casino & Hotel Joliet is listed under the category of Chinese Restaurants, it functions as a casino and hotel. Recent reviews raise concerns about the quality and value of the hotel and RV park facilities. Local users seeking a Chinese restaurant should be aware that this establishment does not primarily offer Chinese cuisine. For those interested in the casino and hotel aspects, it is advisable to consider the recent feedback regarding the accommodation and facilities. For the rate I paid at the hotel it really wasn’t worth it. I had never been to this establishment before, so I thought I would give it a try. Upon arrival, the person that checked me in made me feel like I was inconveniencing them because I interrupted their social media. This person also rushed me through the check in process. I don’t know their name, but i couldn’t make out if this person was male or female. The actual rooms are really old and dated. The ceiling was covered with water stains from previous leaks. The room also smelled like old, stale cigarette smoke. The AC was loud and would rattle when running as well. The bed was ok and pillows and so forth were fine, nothing wrong there. But, for the $130 rate and $11 resort fee i paid I would have been better off keeping to the Hiltons I typically stay at. Also they put a hold on your credit card for $50 for incidentals. Which, normally is fine, but there was nothing that would cause one to use that money because the hotel doesn’t have any form of products to buy or charge to the room. So I don’t get why they charge a hold when there isn’t anything for the customer to really charge against the room. Also their hotel is not connect to the Casio. You have to walk to the Casino. Again, no issue there. It isn’t a long walk. But most Casios and hotels are connected. Also I would dress lightly when in the casino. I don’t know if they don’t run the AC or if it was broke, but it had to be 85 degrees with a ton of humidity in the casino. With all the slots and other things running which generate a ton of heat from all lights, I’ve never been in a Casino where I was sweating just by sitting in the environment.

Stayed in the RV park for an overnight. What a disaster. We knew the water was off. Not a huge deal. Had to move another guests personal items out of our site and pulled in. Got set up and plugged in. No power. The 50 amp outlet did not work. There were food scraps in our site and deer feces everywhere in the site. There is no attempt to clean or maintain the sites. I sent an email to customer service who replied promptly with I can't help you. Call the front desk. No way would I return. Zero stars.

Nice, fun place! Pretty big and lots of games. Staff is super cool and everyone playing looks like they’re having a good time. Cheerful inside and I dig the art deco feel to some areas. Slots are a lot kinder to players than some other casinos nearer to Chicago. Overall, it’s a good time!

The casino is amazing and so fun, the dealers are super fun and engaging, the slots have tons of fun bonus games and it is easy to play for extended amounts of time. The hotel was absolutley disgusting. It smelled like weed, water and mold. The rooms were super dated, there was no lotion, no servicing or cleaning rooms. The beds were not comfortable and the pillows were the absolute worst. They also got our billing wrong twice. I was really hoping the hotel was going to be a amazing as the casino.

I would not stay here. The hotel and casino are not together. Most of the TV channels you can't watch (to fuzzy) the beds are uncomfortable, rooms are dated and not worth $150 a night. Now the casino part... most staff don't want to be there, and don't try to talk to them it puts them out. Don't order any mixed drinks. Just stick to beer. Otherwise, you are going to get a flat watered-down drink (unless you like that). I do recommend the The 99 Hops restaurant, thus is the only thing that we feel saved this place. The restaurant was clean, staff super friendly and the food was really good. I hope the new hotel and casino are connected and things improve.
