About Hoi Yin

Hoi Yin is a Chinese restaurant located at 200 Cypresswood Dr, Spring, TX 77388, USA. They can be contacted at (281) 355-6800 or +1 281-355-6800.

Recent customer reviews paint a concerning picture of the dining experience at Hoi Yin. One reviewer expressed extreme dissatisfaction, stating they would give zero stars if possible. This customer reported receiving shrimp instead of the ordered sweet and sour chicken. Attempts to resolve the issue over the phone were allegedly hindered by communication difficulties with an elderly Asian woman who reportedly did not understand English clearly but believed she did. The restaurant purportedly refused to comp the meal for a future visit, with the only offered solution being to return the incorrect food, which was not feasible for the customer due to a limited lunch break. The customer also described the delivered food as plain dry rice with only two pieces of chicken mixed with the shrimp, raising concerns about potential allergic reactions. This reviewer strongly recommended against patronizing the restaurant and suggested it should be closed.

Another recent review from a former regular customer also expressed significant disappointment. They mentioned that while the food used to be amazing, the restaurant had recently started serving fried rice with no eggs and no vegetables. When the customer inquired with the owner, they were allegedly yelled at and told not to order again. The owner reportedly stated that they now only fry their rice with sauce, suggesting a potential cost-cutting measure related to synthetic eggs and vegetables. This former loyal customer expressed deep disappointment and stated they would never order from the restaurant again, predicting its closure within months.

Based on these recent reviews, potential local users should be aware of reported issues including order inaccuracies, communication barriers, changes in food preparation (specifically the fried rice), and negative customer service experiences. There is no promotional information available in the provided reviews. It is advisable to consider these recent experiences when deciding whether to dine at Hoi Yin.

If I could give this place zero stars I would. I ordered sweet and sour chicken they gave me shrimp. I called back to explain to the elderly Asian woman. She doesn't understand English clearly yet she think she does. They wouldn't comp my meal for next time. Her only way options for resolving the issue was to bring back my food. Which I couldn't was on lunch break and I wasn't going to be back within the area. I sent her a picture of the food. Which was some plain dry a$$ rice and two pieces of chicken the rest was shrimp fried with my chicken. If I had a allergy they would have gotten me sick and someone else. This restaurant should be closed down for good. I will go to different Chinese restaurant in my future. If I were to be in that area again.

We used to order from this restaurant all the time. They have amazing food. Just recently, they have started serving their fried rice with NO eggs and NO vegetables. When asking the owner, she yelled and demanded not to order from them again. She repeatedly said that they only fry their rice with sauce now. Probably the cost of synthetic eggs and vegetables has reflected on their service and food they provide. Very disappointed and will never order from this restaurant again. It'll be months before they get shut down.

If you enjoy to eat bland food and not receive your correct order go ahead and eat here. I ordered the orange chicken and it did not taste like typical orange chicken. There was no type of orange flavor whatsoever. We are new to the area here in Spring. My mother had made an order online, and could not pay online, so we went to pick it up and paid for it; food was ready, however the customer service when walking in was shaky. One of the male staff rudely talking to the front desk women about her being confused by our order, saying we ordered at a different place (wish we did) but we had to give her proof that we did order there. Spending over $62 dollars by the way. We should have read the reviews first because I seen another customer had found roaches in their food? How is this place still operating after that discovery? Overall, I would rate Zero stars if it was possible, because this entire experience was just sad.

So the food was pretty bland but they did give good portion size. The big reason I am giving this place a 1 star is the worst customer service! Our server never checked on us and whenever we asked her a question when we were ordering she seemed so annoyed. Please keep in mind my friend and I were the only customers in the restaurant. Then a little after we received our food she already gave us check which was odd since we barley started eating (Which didn’t bother me). After we finished eating we paid and tipped our server $3 for a $25 order. Our server asked if this was a $3 or $4 which we told her is was $3. She then proceeds to tells us that we are supposed to tip 15%! At that moment I was so done with her! I just couldn’t believe she had the audacity to even say that since all she did was bring out food. We grabbed our own menus since she couldn’t bother give us another menu. $3 is more then fair for mediocre service.

It has to be by far the worst Chinese food I have had in years. Beef lo mein has absolutely no flavor. I would rather have butter noodles. The egg rolls were absolutely soggy and soft, like if they have been sitting there all day and the chicken wings Had a decent flavor, but we’re cold. But they were served with no liner so they were soggy from the moisture and condensation. I will never come back here. This place needs to close and rethink their entire menu and change the chef.
