It is important to acknowledge that online reviews can offer varied perspectives on a dining experience. One review expresses significant dissatisfaction, citing issues with the quality of several dishes, including chewy dumplings, rubbery egg rolls, soggy beef and broccoli, and terrible boneless spare ribs. This customer expressed strong disappointment and frustration with their meal. It is crucial for Ho Lee to take such feedback seriously and address any potential concerns regarding food quality and preparation methods to ensure customer satisfaction.
Conversely, another review presents a more positive outlook, describing Ho Lee as an "excellent old school NYC Chinese American greasy spoon." This suggests that the restaurant may offer a more traditional, perhaps nostalgic, style of Chinese-American cuisine, characterized by fast service and reasonable prices. This type of establishment often has a loyal following who appreciate its unpretentious atmosphere and familiar, comforting dishes. This positive feedback highlights the potential for a satisfying and affordable dining experience at Ho Lee for customers who appreciate this particular style of Chinese-American food.
Given the contrasting nature of these reviews, it is recommended that potential customers consider both perspectives when making their decision. Individual preferences for food style, preparation, and overall dining experience can vary greatly. Ho Lee may appeal to those seeking a classic, no-frills Chinese-American meal with quick service and affordable prices, while others may have different expectations regarding food quality and preparation.

THIS IS THE WORST CHINESE FOOD WE HAVE EVER HAD! 😠THE DUMPLINGS WERE CHEWY, EGG ROLL LIKE RUBBER, IT MUST HAVE BEEN FRIED OVER AND OVER AGAIN. THE BEEF AND BROCCOLI WAS SOGGY AND OVERCOOKED AND YHE BONELESS SPEAR RIBS WAS TERRIBLE! $50 IN YHE GARBAGE!! VERY VERY ANNOYED AND DISGUSTED! 🤮
Excellent old school NYC Chinese American greasy spoon. Fast service and reasonable prices.
The food was burned, tasteless and instead of wings they substituted, without my permission, some kind of knots. I’m disappointed because I’ve been eating here over 20 years. The food and service (delivery guy refused to talk to me in English. He spoke to me in English last week when he delivered my food. Never again. Shame me once shame on you I’m 79 and not allowed to use the stove. You broke my heart and I no longer like your staff.
Waited 20 minutes for half chicken and tostontes, just to get old chicken and thin greasy plantains. Why have me wait so long just to get old food. I'm so disappointed because I was really in the mood for some good fried chicken and plantains. Never again, next time I'll just walk to St Nicholas
Sep 2024 a roach was in the pork fried rice. The egg roll was old greasy. I got food poison. I will never eat there ever again.
