About HK Garden 花園茶室

HK Garden 花園茶室 is a Chinese restaurant operating as a Hong Kong style cafe, situated at 8 Glen Watford Dr Unit G-6, Scarborough, ON M1S 1T5, Canada. They can be contacted at (416) 299-0779 or +1 416-299-0779.

Based on customer reviews, HK Garden offers good value for the quantity of food provided. The service has been described as generally good by some. A notable offering is that many meals come with a standard set of sides including toast, a fried egg, and a hotdog, which can amount to a significant amount of food, especially suitable for sharing among two adults and a toddler.

However, the quality of specific food items appears to be average for a Hong Kong style cafe. One reviewer found the Hong Kong style milk tea to be weak. Among the noodle dishes, the Beef Satay rice noodles were described as having an odd and strange flavor, while the Preserved Vegetable rice noodles were considered okay. The French toast was also rated as just okay, not particularly memorable.

Another customer mentioned that while the food is generally acceptable ("not bad at all"), there might be inconsistencies in service, specifically noting a new staff member who seemed unfamiliar with serving procedures. Additionally, this reviewer found the Hong Kong style milk tea to be good but noted that the soup served was not sufficiently hot, only warm.

In summary, HK Garden 花園茶室 provides a substantial amount of food for its price and offers standard Hong Kong cafe dishes. While some aspects like the milk tea and certain noodle preparations have received mixed feedback, the overall value in terms of quantity might appeal to some local users. Potential customers may want to consider that service experiences can vary.

Very good value for amount of food, service was good. Milk tea was weak. Food was average for HK style cafe. Beef Satay rice noodles were a little odd tasting, flavor was strange. Preserved veg rice noodles were okay. French toast was okay but nothing to write home about. Meals came with toast, fried egg and hotdog. It’s a lot of food for 2 people and a toddler.

Food is ok. Not bad at all. They have a new staff and she doesn’t know how to serve. That’s odd to me. The HK style milk tea is good but the soup is not hot, just warm.

Easy, quick, consistent HK cafe (cha chan teng) fare and a reasonable price for the amount of food you get. Unlike the new-age HK cafes that charge you and arm and a leg for the same but “jooged up” meals, this one remains authentic and simple. For ~ 11$ dining in, you get the all day breakfast each comes with get hosts eggs and sausage along with you order +a drink! I can see they also cater to the students near by with their western menu which is nice!

I'm so confused. It seems like this place has an identity crisis... It looks like a Hong Kong tea house, but there's samosas, spicy wings and non Chinese wait staff... Do I speak Cantonese? Would they understand if I say yinyeung..? Also the service was slow, food was super slow to come out. Not great. The brisket+tendon noods was $12.50 and had a lot of meat in it, not bad. I ordered the hofun and even got a choice of wide or narrow hofun, I've never ever been asked that! However I think that's the only good thing about them... The tea was also a little confusing - it's not very strong.

We got here around 2pm on a Saturday and were seated immediately. There was a steady stream of people coming in the whole time we were there, but there were always tables available. The service was a bit slow as there were only two waitresses helping out with all the tables. This is a no frills eatery. We wanted to go with a bit of variety so we ordered things that were pretty different. The Club Sandwich came with a lot of ingredients and they definitely didn’t skim out on the portions. The Baked Pork Chop over Rice was also a winner in our book. The flavor was spot on. The Saturday special was the Malaysian Chicken Curry with Spaghetti so we decided to get that. Mistake. It was a bit of a letdown as the curry was fairly watery and a little bit on the bland side. Get the Hong Kong Milk Tea. It’s legit!
