About HiTEA Cafe

Located within the bustling Ala Moana Blvd #2271 in Honolulu, HI 96814, USA, HiTEA Cafe operates as a Chinese Restaurant situated in one of the mall's food courts. They can be contacted at (808) 205-8222 or via mobile at +1 808-205-8222. Based on recent customer reviews, HiTEA Cafe offers a somewhat mixed experience, with positive feedback on certain items like their milk tea and some Chinese dishes, but criticisms regarding their smoothies, availability of bubble tea ingredients, and the flavor profile of some of their food.

One reviewer expressed significant disappointment with their overall experience, especially considering the numerous other dining options available in the mall. While they found the milk tea (specifically mentioning non-smoothie versions) to be good, they criticized the smoothies for tasting "watered down." A notable issue raised was the unavailability of bubbles (tapioca pearls) for their bubble tea on a Friday night before 7 PM, which the reviewer deemed "inexcusable" for a bubble tea establishment. Regarding the food, this customer felt that while the ingredients seemed good, the dishes lacked the expected flavors, suggesting a disconnect between the dish name and its actual taste. They speculated that the cafe might have expanded its offerings beyond tea to increase revenue, potentially at the expense of the quality of the newer additions.

Echoing the sentiment about the tea, another reviewer simply stated, "If you try here, get the milk tea. It's pretty good," reinforcing the idea that this might be one of their stronger offerings.

In contrast to the negative feedback on some items, another customer had a positive experience with the Chinese food, describing it as "really good" and noting that it comes from one of the food court vendors near Macy's. They appreciated that the food is cooked to order, ensuring freshness. They specifically praised the house fried rice, finding it "really tasty without being too salty," and the house crispy noodles. This reviewer stated they would "definitely order this again," highlighting the good amount of protein and vegetables in the crispy noodle dish, as well as an adequate amount of gravy that allowed for mixing while still retaining some crispiness in the noodles.

Given its location within a food court at Ala Moana Center, the environment of HiTEA Cafe is typical of such settings – likely bustling, casual, and focused on quick service. Food court seating is generally communal and not specific to individual vendors. The ambiance would be defined by the overall activity and layout of the food court itself, rather than a dedicated restaurant space with unique decor.

The services at HiTEA Cafe primarily involve food and beverage preparation and counter service typical of a food court vendor. Customers likely place their orders at the counter, and the food is prepared for immediate consumption or takeout. The positive review mentioning "cook to order" food suggests a focus on freshness. However, the negative review points to potential issues with operational efficiency, such as running out of key ingredients like bubbles during peak hours. The staff interaction seems to be transactional, though one positive reviewer did not comment on service beyond the food quality.

The features of HiTEA Cafe include a menu that encompasses both bubble tea and a selection of Chinese food. Their bubble tea offerings include milk tea (which has received positive feedback) and smoothies (which have been criticized for being watered down). A significant drawback noted was the unreliable availability of bubbles for their bubble tea. Their Chinese food menu includes items like house fried rice and house crispy noodles, at least some of which are cooked to order and have been positively reviewed for taste and freshness. However, other food items may suffer from a lack of expected flavor, despite seemingly using good ingredients. This suggests a potential inconsistency in the quality and execution of their food menu compared to their tea offerings.

Currently, there is no information available regarding any specific promotional offers, discounts, or special features at HiTEA Cafe. The reviews focus on the quality of specific menu items and the service aspects encountered during regular purchases. As a food court vendor, their promotional strategies might be limited or not explicitly mentioned in general customer reviews. To inquire about any potential promotions, customers would likely need to visit their location directly at the Ala Moana Center food court.

In conclusion, HiTEA Cafe at Ala Moana Center in Honolulu presents a mixed bag for potential customers. Their milk tea appears to be a consistently praised item. However, their smoothies have been criticized, and the occasional unavailability of bubbles for bubble tea is a significant concern. On the food side, some dishes like the house fried rice and house crispy noodles have received positive reviews for taste and freshness, suggesting that their Chinese food offerings can be worthwhile. However, other food items may lack the expected flavor. The service is typical of a food court setting, with a focus on order preparation and counter interaction. Given its location, the environment is casual and bustling. As no promotional information was available in the reviews, customers interested in deals or specials would need to check directly at the cafe. Overall, those visiting HiTEA Cafe might find their milk tea and certain Chinese dishes to be satisfactory, but should be aware of potential inconsistencies in other menu items and the possibility of ingredient shortages.

Really not good, especially considering there are so many orgasmic food options in the mall. I will say their bubble tea (not smoothies, just the milk tea) are good. However, their smoothies taste watered down. And what bubble tea place runs out of bubbles on a Friday night before 7???? Inexcusable. And their food had good ingredients but lack the flavors and tastes that you would expect from the dishes name. It almost feels like they had a great product in their tea, but decided to add additional things to their offerings to make more money. 画蛇添足 is what I think of that. If you try here, get the milk tea. It's pretty good.

Really good Chinese food from one of the food courts at Ala Moana mall near Macys. They cook to order so it's fresh. We ordered the house fried rice which was really tasty without being too salty and the house crispy noodles. I would definitely order this again good amount of protein and veggies and enough gravy to mix with still having some crispy noodles.

Giving 5 stars for their smoothie! I haven’t tried their food. The smoothie (avocado banana) had a nice strong flavor with real fruit, it had a lot of real fruit and wasn’t watered down with anything. Bobas were soft and sweet. I love boba drinks that use real fruit and don’t skimp on the ingredients!

I ordered the Chicken Choi Sum stir fry and my husband ordered the Salt and Pepper Pork Chops. Both plates were very flavorful. The Chicken Choi Sum had a good flavor and the vegetables were perfectly prepared. There was an abundance of sauce which is somewhat unusual. The one downfall of the plate was the fact that the chicken had fat on it. They probably use boneless skinless chicken thighs. I have never eaten a stir fry dish where I had to remove fat from the meat which was quite frustrating. My husband said that the pork chops was not tough. He enjoyed it. The food court is clean and has various seating options. Long tables, round tables, counter height tables as well as outdoor seating. The women's bathroom had 2 stalls out of order, of which one of them was the handicapped stall. There definitely was a wait for a stall.
