Welcome to Hina Hut, an Asian restaurant located at 1855 Barataria Blvd, Marrero, LA 70072, USA. Serving the Marrero community, Hina Hut offers a diverse menu that includes Chinese cuisine alongside other Asian options like sushi. You can reach them at (504) 328-6877 or their mobile number +1 504-328-6877 to place an order or for any inquiries.
Based on the available customer reviews, the experiences at Hina Hut appear to be somewhat mixed, with opinions varying on the quality and taste of their offerings. One reviewer admitted to being initially skeptical due to negative reviews but still decided to try the restaurant. While they found it to be their "least favorite" among the Asian restaurants they've tried in the New Orleans area, they still acknowledged that it was "good." This suggests that while Hina Hut might not be a top contender for this particular customer, it wasn't entirely disappointing either.
This reviewer went on to provide specific feedback on several dishes they sampled. The egg roll was highlighted as "probably the best out of it all," indicating a positive aspect of their meal. However, the lo mein was described as lacking flavor to the point where it made the reviewer question their sense of taste, jokingly wondering if they had contracted COVID-19. The sweet and sour sauce was noted to be "watery but ok," suggesting a less than ideal consistency but acceptable taste. The chicken preparation was criticized for not being tossed properly and having a noticeable "grease" taste. Lastly, the rice was deemed "ok" but could have been softer, with a suspicion that it might have been a day old, implying potential issues with freshness or texture. Interestingly, this reviewer found the sushi to be "good," indicating a potential strength in their Japanese offerings.
In stark contrast, another customer had a significantly negative experience, describing Hina Hut's offerings as the "lowest quality Asian 'cuisine'" they had ever encountered. Their disappointment extended to multiple items. The miso soup was described as "completely clear" and more like broth than soup, deviating from the expected thicker consistency and flavor profile. The sushi received harsh criticism for being "lathered with sauce" allegedly to mask a "itty bitty price of shrimp" and for being carelessly "thrown in a container with zero care." This customer concluded by expressing overall dissatisfaction and a firm decision not to order from Hina Hut again.
Given these contrasting reviews, it's difficult to ascertain a clear picture of the environment at Hina Hut. Neither reviewer provided any details about the restaurant's ambiance or decor. The limited information available focuses solely on the food quality and taste. Therefore, we cannot objectively describe the environment based on these reviews.
Regarding services, both reviews indicate that Hina Hut offers takeout, as both customers placed orders for pick-up or delivery (implied by the second reviewer). The first reviewer's detailed feedback on multiple dishes suggests that Hina Hut has a fairly extensive menu that includes both Chinese staples like egg rolls and lo mein, as well as sushi. The mention of a cashier implies that they also handle in-person orders and payments. However, there is no information available regarding dine-in options or delivery services beyond the implication of the second reviewer's statement.
Based on the limited information, key features of Hina Hut appear to be its diverse menu that combines Chinese and Japanese (sushi) cuisine. The egg roll seems to be a standout dish for at least one customer. However, potential weaknesses include inconsistencies in food quality, as highlighted by the issues with the lo mein, sweet and sour sauce, chicken preparation, and rice in one review, and the overall poor quality described in the other, particularly concerning the miso soup and sushi presentation. The mixed feedback suggests a potential lack of consistency in their food preparation and quality control.
No promotional information is mentioned in either of the provided reviews. Therefore, we cannot comment on any current specials, discounts, or other promotional offers that Hina Hut might be running. Local users interested in such information would need to contact the restaurant directly.
For local users in Marrero, LA, Hina Hut presents a somewhat uncertain option based on the available reviews. While one customer found some aspects of their meal to be acceptable, with the egg roll being a highlight and the sushi being good, they also noted significant issues with other dishes like the lo mein, sweet and sour sauce, chicken, and rice. Another customer had a decidedly negative experience, citing very low quality across multiple items including miso soup and sushi. This wide range of opinions suggests a potential inconsistency in the food quality and preparation at Hina Hut. Local users might want to consider these contrasting experiences when deciding whether to try Hina Hut. If you are interested in exploring their menu of Chinese dishes and sushi, you can contact them at (504) 328-6877 or +1 504-328-6877 to place an order or inquire further.

Customer Reviews
I was skeptical on trying this place because of all the negatives reviews. I've tasted pretty much all around the nola area and we'll this maybe have been my least favorite but it was good. Well this is pretty much everything we had. The egg roll was probably the best out of it all. Lomein had me questioning if I had covid cause it had no taste 😂 The sweet and sour sauce was watery but ok. The chicken wasn't tossed but def can taste the grease. Uhh the rice was ok could of been a bit softer or maybe it was a day old 🥴 Sushi was good.
Lowest quality Asian "cuisine" I have ever had in my life. Miso soup is completely clear and more broth than soup. Sushi was lathered with sauce to hide an Itty bitty price of shrimp and just thrown in a container with zero care. Just all around not impressed and will not order from here again.
Just terrible. I ordered General TSOs chicken and it's mostly dough. Those look like big pieces of chicken, but it's not. There's only a small piece of chicken and the rest is batter. The rice was bland. Just a really bad place to eat from.
My experience w/ delivery has been the best. The sushi rolls are awesome. I treat myself to one every weekend, just to say that I tried them all. My favorite so far is the lobster roll
We ordered generals chicken, sushi, and baked salmon it all was awesome! They sent us home with some crawfish to try and oh my goodness! They were delicious, so flavorful with a little kick ! Will definitely be back for the crawfish !
