My mom and I came here since we were close by. She had a french dip and I had a patty melt. (Classics if you ask me) They also had greek lemon chicken soup as a soup of the day. It was pretty good. 🥰 What really made me like this place was the staff. The waitresses there were kind and funny. Made it a nice atmosphere. I gotta say when I go back I wanna go for breakfast and carrot cake 🤣. I got cherry pie, pie isn't really my thing but I thought it was ok.

On our big USA road trip, this stop was wonderful. It’s a real old school diner, family owned since 1927. Perfect for a European to get a taste of the real American diner culture. Loved everything about it, not in the least the freshly cooked food.

First off, the friendliness was awful. Not a smile or nod from most of the workers. Figured I’d support a local business. My Bad. All other restaurants made good for their customers if the need was required. Gave us water but never asked us if we wanted a beverage. We had to tell him we wanted a beverage. SMH I ordered “ NEW Western Chicken Pasta $17.95“ which was decent, my grandson ordered Penne Vodka $16.95. The Penne Vodka was horrible and there was way more than 1/2 left because it was that horrible. It tasted like sweet ketchup, so we told them and then ordered a burger which was $10.95 on top of everything else. It was good. So now the bill came to $52.35 before tax. BTW, They took the Penne Vodka dish away. So We asked them if they could remove the Penne dish cost and they said NO. So then she took $2.00 off the bill (Woop,Woop). Wouldn’t budge anymore. It’s pasta, not chicken or shrimp, it’s Pasta so what was the big deal. We were there quite some time trying to correct this mess. End result, We paid $60.00 with the tip so the end result was she took off $2.00 because we gave the server a $10.00 tip. Expensive experience and we would have eaten there more often if they weren’t Soooooo petty. Won’t ever go back there again. They are not reasonable.. Nice atmosphere, not good interaction at all. Too petty for me. Accommodations all around were just not there. Also she said that we were the only ones who complained. Then I told her we are Italian and know good Penne Vodka. In the photos,The light Penne is in the pan. There is no comparison with the dark dish Penne ( which is the diner version) vs. the lighter Penne. What should have been $35.40 without tax, it was $49.65 then $10.00 tip.

This is a great classic diner that was featured on Diners, Drive-Ins, and Dives. Extensive menu. Attentive service. Their scrapple was cooked perfectly. Plenty of parking both streetside and in a dedicated lot. Went for lunch on a Friday before a holiday weekend and was seated immediately but the place was almost 100% full. Did not try any of their baked goods, but the pies in the display case by the register looked really good.
