What a wonderful restaurant! First of all, the views are gorgeous right on the bay. Everyone there was so friendly. Great selection of drinks. And the food was amazing! It had such a laid back relaxed atmosphere. And there was live music that was just the right volume.
Family decided to go to local staple hidden treasure for our post 4th of July celebration. The atmosphere is very laid back with open deck areas with inside seating if your preference in either. We fortunately were there when live music was going on with a guitarist and vocals. This establishment is very easy going and relaxing vibe for all ages. Variety of alcoholic beverages and non alcoholic as well. The food quality is great considering you’d expect bar food, not the case here. The food is the reason the restaurants have been a staple in port orange and Ponce inlet location. My significant parallel had the HT shrimp with grit cakes with Cajun sauce, dish was above delici. I had the gator platter with fries and hush puppy. Me being a big fried gator fan really thought the platter was crispy and flavorful combination platter. With two locations adjacent of the Ponce inlet of each other makes easy to dine one of the establishments. Definitely worth the dinner out with family or friends.
My mother had the fried fish (cod) sandwich and chips. I had the fried green BLT and paid an extra $1 for sweet potato fries. I had my dog, so we had to sit in the artificial grass areas. We sat down, and there was no fan anywhere outside (probably would've helped since I had my dog, and it was 88 degrees outside and sunny). There were tiny ants all over the table where we sat. Also, we only had a fork in the paper silverware sleeve, no knife or spoon. My mother enjoyed her sandwich, and they gave her 2 filets (she was able to make 2 meals out of it). Mine, however, was quite the opposite. I remember having the fried green BLT, and it was delicious. This time, I had one tomato on each half (didn't cover the surface of the bread at all), and the sweet potato fries were dry, definitely overcooked, and I found it odd how they put powdered sugar on them instead of salt like most places. I asked my server if she could tell them to make the bacon crispy. Pretty much all but one tiny part of the bacon (the 2 slices I had) was crispy. The rest of it was pure fat. I'm glad I only paid $12. Other than that, the server was friendly.
Delicious fish fry , great atmosphere, great service, entertainment, service was fast, and servers were very attentive and friendly..best I've had in a long time. Great water views! We will definitely be back
Very unfortunate experience, my fiancée and I came here a few weeks ago for the first time with a group and were blown away by how good the food was. Our service was excellent and the view was wonderful, so wonderful in fact that we decided to come back after our vacation to enjoy the experience again. We both ordered the exact same thing we did the first time, a fillet and cheese for him and the country fried pork for myself. How disappointing it was to see the country fried plate come out and look nothing like they did on our first visit. Where before the fillets were beautifully breaded with a generous serving of wonderfully smooth gravy these fillets seemed to be breaded in a completely different style. They were very dark and tasted of oil while the gravy on top was sparse and very clearly split with an almost slimy texture that was rather unpleasant. It’s a shame because I had been raving about how good my first experience was and the other people in our group who had tried my dish before agreed that it was really something special. I honestly hope it was just an off night and that when we come back we can capture that same magic we found on our first trip.
