One customer reported that while their daughters enjoy the food, the service quality has "really gone downhill," with their most recent experience being the "worst yet." They described an employee named Kate as "inattentive" and having "an attitude" while taking their order. Despite being asked to focus, the employee reportedly responded with "even more attitude." When the customer requested to speak to a manager, the employee claimed there wasn’t one available, which the customer believed to be untrue. Even after proceeding with the order, it was "not prepared correctly," leading to disappointment in the perceived decline of a once-favorite spot for their family.

Another reviewer noted that "Habachi San in sugarloaf mills mall has stood the test of time," being one of the original fast-food restaurants in the food court since the mall opened in November 2001, highlighting its over 24 years of operation. This customer mentioned still loving "habachi San even thought they don’t serve beef like they used to." They acknowledged that the "Price might have gone up" but still consider it "the closest thing to a homecooked meal I could buy on the fly." They also shared their perspective from working in the restaurant industry, stating that most restaurants, excluding fine dining, use bulk frozen ingredients cooked on a flat grill.

Based on these reviews, Hibachi-San at Sugarloaf Mills Mall in Lawrenceville, GA, is a long-standing fast-food establishment offering hibachi-style cuisine. While it has been a favorite for some and is appreciated for its convenience and resemblance to a quick home-cooked meal, there are recent concerns about declining service quality, including inattentive and rude staff, incorrect order preparation, and difficulty reaching a manager. The restaurant no longer serves beef, and prices may have increased. Despite these issues, its longevity suggests it still holds appeal for some shoppers in the mall food court.

My girls go to the mall just for this food, but unfortunately, the service has really gone downhill. Today was the worst experience yet. While ordering, the employee Kate was inattentive and had an attitude. I had to ask her to focus on my order, but she responded with even more attitude. When I asked for a manager, she claimed there wasn’t one available—which I know isn’t true. I still went ahead with my order, but even then, it wasn’t prepared correctly. Disappointed to see this place decline, especially since it’s a favorite for my family.

Habachi San in sugarloaf mills mall has stood the test of time. It’s one of the fast food restaurant in the food court since the mall had open back in November 2001. Over 24 years. Still love habachi San even thought they don’t serve beef like they used to. Price might have gone up but it’s the closest thing to a homecooked meal I could buy on the fly. Besides I worked in the restaurant industry before & unless you’re eating out at a fine dining every restaurant wether sit in or take out all food comes in bulk frozen in a large freezer in the back of the house, cooked on a flat grill.

Food is great and so is price. The line was long and busy. The problem was the staff. Jonathan didnt like me asking about food it was my first time eating here. Marian who was at the cash register started giving me the total in a hurry. I still had drinks to grab. She kwpt ringing and not asking if I needed anything else. Ofcourse the people behind me were also in a hurry. I didnt rush Jonathan when he went to get rice. I didnt rush Diego when he was cutting the chicken. Its sad when people are rude or just not wanting to be nice. Maybe it was because it was late and probably all tired. But I wont be coming back.

Ih-san Hibachi catered for us for my cousin’s baby shower & he was amazing! He arrived on time, the set up was efficient, and he fed ~30 people with a smile on his face! He was the perfect addition to our event! While the adults were mesmerized, even the kids enjoyed getting a chance to cook with him! Not to mention he drove out to Augusta, GA! Lunch was served in a timely manner and the post-lunch clean up on his end was spotless! We’d highly recommend him and his team! His service, professionalism, humor, and work was spectacular!
