About Hibachi House

Welcome to Hibachi House, a local Chinese Restaurant situated at 1609 S Church St in Burlington, North Carolina. As a valued member of the Chinese Restaurant category, Hibachi House strives to offer a wide array of both classic and unique Asian-inspired dishes to the Burlington community and beyond. Our establishment provides options for dine-in, takeout, and potentially delivery, catering to your convenience and preference.

At Hibachi House, we pride ourselves on offering a diverse menu that extends beyond traditional hibachi. While our name highlights our hibachi offerings, we also feature a selection of popular Chinese dishes, ensuring there's something to satisfy a variety of cravings. We are committed to providing affordable and tasty food, as echoed by some of our valued customers.

According to customer feedback, experiences at Hibachi House have been varied, offering insights into both the strengths and areas for potential improvement. One customer enthusiastically shared a positive experience, highlighting the deliciousness of the Hibachi Chicken and crab rangoons. They found the meal to be a great deal at $10.25, considering it more affordable and better tasting than a nearby competitor. While they noted the fried rice was somewhat bland, it was not off-putting. This customer expressed their intention to become a repeat patron, contingent on maintaining the food quality.

In a subsequent edit to their review, the same customer shared a particularly heartwarming experience, noting that Hibachi House became a "lifesaver" during their recovery from COVID-19. They found comfort and nourishment in the egg drop soup and certain Chinese dishes, ordering frequently and highly recommending the soup for its delicious, comforting, and filling qualities. They also praised the chicken and broccoli and the chicken lo mein. This customer's evolving experience led them to increase their rating, suggesting that beyond the hibachi, other menu items are noteworthy.

Conversely, another customer reported a less satisfactory experience, primarily concerning the service received at the counter. They described the staff member as rude and unwelcoming, particularly when they needed a moment to review the menu as a first-time customer. While the food was served hot and the server was reportedly nicer when bringing the food to the table, the initial interaction left a negative impression, especially concerning the staff's demeanor towards their partner.

This customer also commented on the portion sizes relative to the price, suggesting that while the food looked appealing in pictures, a significant portion consisted of rice, with a smaller amount of meat concealed beneath the vegetables. They noted that the vegetables were plentiful, but the meat portion was small. Additionally, they found the chicken to be overcooked and chewy, while the steak was tender. This mixed experience, particularly the negative interaction with the counter staff, led this customer to express hesitation about returning.

Taking these reviews into account, Hibachi House appears to offer a range of dishes, with some customers finding particular satisfaction in items like the Hibachi Chicken, crab rangoons, egg drop soup, chicken and broccoli, and chicken lo mein. The affordability of some dishes has also been highlighted as a positive aspect. However, there seems to be inconsistency in the quality of certain items, such as the fried rice and potentially the chicken in some dishes. Additionally, customer service, particularly at the counter, appears to be an area that needs attention to ensure a positive experience for all patrons.

Our menu at Hibachi House likely features a variety of hibachi options, including chicken, steak, and possibly seafood, typically served with vegetables and rice. In addition to hibachi, we offer classic Chinese dishes such as fried rice, lo mein, and various chicken, beef, and seafood entrees. Appetizers like crab rangoons and comforting soups like egg drop soup are also part of our offerings.

Ordered the Hibachi Chicken & crab rangoons. Both the chicken & vegetables & rangoons were delicious! The "fried rice" was very bland, as others have stated, but its not bad. For $10.25, you really couldn't ask for a better deal! WAY More affordable & better tasting than the Hong Kong chinese place that's down the road. IMO. Will definitely be a repeat customer so long as the quality stays the same. Edit: came back to say, this place was a bonefide lifesaver when I had covid. Egg drop soup & certain chinese foods are some of the few things I can actually eat when I'm sick. I ordered from here almost every day & it really got me by. The soup is delicious, comforting, & filling. The chicken & broccoli was delicious, the chicken lo mein was delicious, & today I'm trying the chicken mei fun. From 4 to 5 stars, highly recommend! The hibachi is decent, but the rest of the menu is better.

Service was less than par. The girl working at the counter is rude. She acted as if she does not want to be there. As a first time customer I wanted a minute to look over the menu. She slumped over the counter tapping her pen as if we were bothering her being there. We didn’t leave. The food came out hot. The girl was fairly nice to me when bringing the food to our table but not friendly at all to my partner. The portions were small for the price. It looks good on picture but mostly rice. The vegetables are under the meat. So actually you get a small amount of meat, lots of rice, and a good amount of vegetables. I’m not sure how it would be if you chose not to get vegetables. The taste was good. The chicken was overcooked and chewy. The steak was very tender though. I probably wouldn’t return especially if the rude clerk is at this restaurant.

I ordered shrimp and chicken no broccoli no carrots and a chicken hibachi no broccoli no carrots, called because they messed up my order and added broccoli and carrots to the shrimp and chicken and carrots to the chicken. The manager L tried to tell me the chef checks the orders for accuracy and that it is not on my plate. I asked did she want me to send her a picture. She kept repeating herself. We had to pick it out why would we lie! NEVER AGAIN!
