About Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet

Welcome to Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet, a Chinese restaurant located at 1122 West Broad Street in Dunn, North Carolina. Operating within the Chinese restaurant category, Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet distinguishes itself by offering a buffet-style dining experience with a significant selection of not only Chinese cuisine but also Hibachi and potentially other Asian-inspired dishes. Situated on West Broad Street in Dunn, it aims to provide a diverse culinary experience with the convenience of a buffet format.

According to customer reviews, the environment at Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet is generally well-regarded. One long-time local patron described the place as "clean" with a food area that is "kept clean and tidy." They also mentioned that the restaurant has a "good atmosphere," suggesting a pleasant setting for diners. Another reviewer, who visited during a non-peak time, did not comment negatively on the cleanliness or atmosphere, implying a satisfactory environment. The focus on maintaining a clean food area is a notable feature, especially for a buffet-style restaurant where food is continuously accessible to customers. This emphasis on cleanliness likely contributes to a more positive and comfortable dining experience for patrons.

The primary service offered by Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet is an all-you-can-eat buffet. This format allows customers to sample a wide variety of dishes at their own pace. One reviewer specifically noted the benefit of seeing "fresh food being put out consistently and throughout the day," even during off-peak hours. This suggests a commitment to maintaining the freshness and availability of their offerings. The presence of wait staff who are described as "polite" and "frequently checked on us" indicates that while it is a buffet, table service for beverages and ensuring customer satisfaction is also provided. The name itself suggests the inclusion of a Hibachi grill, although the reviews do not explicitly detail whether this is part of the buffet with pre-cooked items or if there is a live cooking station. The availability of a "carve your own" prime rib, even on a Monday, highlights the diverse selection beyond typical Chinese buffet fare. While takeout is not explicitly mentioned, many buffet restaurants also offer this option; it would be best to contact Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet directly to inquire about takeout services.

The food at Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet is generally praised for its quality and selection. One reviewer stated that "the food is really good here with a great selection" and that the quality is "much better than your average takeout Chinese restaurant." They also noted the decent variety available. Another reviewer who visited during an off-peak time corroborated this, mentioning that "all of the food we tried had good flavor" and was not stale. The unexpected inclusion of "carve your own" prime rib was also highlighted as being "quite good," indicating a broader range of offerings than a typical Chinese buffet. The positive comments about the food being fresh and consistently replenished suggest a focus on maintaining quality despite the buffet format. The mention of a "pretty good selection" by one reviewer further underscores the variety available to diners.

A significant point of contention raised in one of the reviews is the pricing structure. A long-time local fan expressed concern that the price per person is "too high," making it difficult for families and seniors on a budget to eat there. They specifically mentioned being charged the adult price for their 11 and 12-year-old children, leading to a $54 bill for two adults and two children (with water to drink) on a Monday night. This reviewer believes the high prices are the reason the restaurant is not more crowded and suggests a price reduction for adults and a tiered pricing for children up to 12 years old to make it more affordable for families. This detailed feedback indicates that while the food and atmosphere are appreciated, the cost is a major deterrent for some potential customers.

The positive aspects highlighted in the reviews include the good quality and wide selection of food, the cleanliness of the restaurant and food area, and the polite and attentive wait staff. The consistent replenishment of fresh food, even during non-peak times, is also a notable strength. The unexpected addition of items like prime rib further enhances the appeal of the buffet. However, the significant drawback identified is the perceived high price per person, particularly for families with older children who may not eat as much as adults. This pricing strategy seems to be a barrier for some local customers who have been fans of the restaurant for years.

Currently, there is no information available regarding specific promotions or discounts offered by Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet. Buffets sometimes have different pricing for lunch versus dinner, or special rates on certain days of the week. Given the feedback about the high cost, it would be beneficial for potential customers to inquire directly about any family discounts, senior rates, or other promotions that might be available. Checking their website or social media (if they have a presence) might also provide information on special offers. The reviewer who found the prices too high did not mention any discounts being available, suggesting that their regular pricing might be the issue.

In conclusion, Hibachi Grill & Supreme Buffet in Dunn, NC, offers a diverse all-you-can-eat experience with a good selection of Chinese and possibly Hibachi dishes, along with unexpected items like prime rib. The restaurant is noted for its cleanliness, pleasant atmosphere, and the consistent replenishment of fresh, flavorful food. The wait staff is also commended for their politeness and attentiveness. However, a significant concern raised by a long-time customer is the high price per person, especially for families with older children, which may deter some local diners. For those considering a visit, the quality and variety of the food seem to be strong points, but it would be wise to inquire about the current pricing and any potential discounts available. The food is really good here with a great selection. The food is much better quality than your average takeout Chinese restaurant. The place is clean and food area is kept clean and tidy. The restaurant has a good atmosphere. My major problem here is the price is too high per person. I have been a local and fan of the restaurant for years. My problem here now after my visit is the price is way too high per person. Families can no longer eat here or seniors on a budget. My kids barely eat anything and are 11 and 12 and are charged the same price as an adult. There should be a few dollars less for kids in this age range. It costs me and my two girls $54 to eat here ordering water to drink on a Monday night. These prices are too high for this area and the reason you don't have a packed restaurant. You would have more customers if you would reduce the price to around $15 adults and offer reduced price for kids through 12 years old. I would love to bring my entire family here again but unfortunately it costs too much as a family. I will have to find a cheaper Chinese restaurant going forward. Hopefully you will reconsider your pricing to make dining in your restaurant affordable again!

This is a decent hibachi buffet with a pretty good selection and nice to see fresh food being put out consistently and throughout the day, even during some traditionally non-peak times. We were there about 3:30 on a Monday (closed on Tuesdays) and all of the food we tried had good flavor, was not table stale, and provided a decent variety. They even had "carve your own" prime rib, on a Monday! And it was quite good. All of the wait staff were polite and the waitress frequently checked on us to make sure we were satisfied. And, as with most good buffets, we ate too much.

Lots of food choices, everything from hibachi, soups, sushi, and every type of typical Chinese food you can get for takeout, just way better. The food quality is great (nothing seems like it's been sitting for hours) and I was surprised to find a couple of items on the buffet bars (BBQ ribs, for instance usually quite expensive for takeout). Overall, my favorite restaurant in the Dunn area. Highly recommend for some great tasting food and variety.

Clustered but was able to move around. The food was hot and good. Staff were kind and made sure food stayed refilled. Servers waited on customers as needed. It was clean even though some of the guest needed to cover their mouth when coughing around food.
