Customer reviews for Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet present a dichotomy of experiences, with some patrons highly recommending specific items and the overall buffet, while others report significant concerns regarding food safety and service. One recurring positive highlight is the "Hibachi Beef," which is described as juicy, tender, bite-sized, and melt-in-your-mouth. This dish is so popular that it is frequently being replenished, ensuring freshness, although this popularity can sometimes lead to a short wait. This reviewer also praised the tasty selection of other food items and the "great selection of sushi." Another recommended dish is the "Salt and Pepper Shrimp," considered by this reviewer to be among the best compared to other buffets, with a preference for a saltier flavor. They suggest pairing these dishes with an ice-cold Sprite for an optimal dining experience. This customer's overall sentiment is that Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet is a reliable choice when considering a buffet, particularly for its hibachi offerings, and notes that the restaurant is often busy during dinner hours, which is typical for popular buffets.
However, another recent customer had a drastically different and negative experience. Following a previous positive visit, their most recent dining experience led them to declare it would be their last. A significant concern was the discovery of hair in their food, which they even claimed was visible in a photo they took. This raises serious questions about the restaurant's hygiene and food safety practices. Additionally, this reviewer noted that when new food trays were brought out to the buffet line, they were often nearly empty. They also mentioned being charged for drinks, which they found unusual for a buffet setting. This customer reported having very little food on their plates, as they were actively avoiding items that appeared unsanitary. The service was described as "okay," with the server reaching across the table to take plates while the diners were still eating, without excusing themselves. While they acknowledged a potential language barrier, this behavior contributed to an overall negative impression, leading them to conclude it was one of the worst buffet experiences they had encountered.
Considering these contrasting reviews, it is evident that the experience at Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet can vary significantly. The positive review emphasizes the quality of specific items like the Hibachi Beef and Salt and Pepper Shrimp, as well as a good sushi selection, suggesting that the restaurant has the potential to offer enjoyable food. The popularity of the Hibachi Beef indicates that it may be a consistently well-prepared and favored option.
On the other hand, the negative review raises serious red flags regarding food safety and hygiene. The presence of hair in the food is a significant issue that would understandably deter customers. The observation of barely filled food trays suggests potential problems with keeping the buffet adequately stocked, especially during busy periods. The practice of charging for drinks in a buffet setting may also be unexpected for some patrons and could impact the perceived value of the meal. Finally, the described service interaction, while potentially influenced by a language barrier, could be seen as intrusive and lacking in standard dining etiquette.
Given these points, local users considering Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet should weigh the positive feedback on certain food items against the serious concerns raised about hygiene and service. If the Hibachi Beef and sushi are indeed highlights, as one reviewer suggests, those items might be worth trying. However, the report of unsanitary conditions cannot be ignored and should prompt caution. It may be advisable to look for more recent reviews on various platforms to get a broader sense of current customer experiences.
Information regarding the restaurant's environment is somewhat limited in these reviews. The mention of the restaurant being packed during dinner hours suggests that it is a popular spot, which could indicate a lively atmosphere. However, the negative reviewer's comments about the buffet line being sparsely filled might also reflect the environment during their visit. No specific details about the decor or layout of the restaurant are provided.
In terms of services, Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet primarily offers a buffet-style dining experience. The availability of hibachi grilling suggests that there may be a section where food is cooked fresh in front of customers, although this is not explicitly detailed in the reviews. The mention of drink charges indicates that beverages are not necessarily included in the buffet price, which is a service-related detail that potential customers should be aware of. While one reviewer praised the overall buffet experience, the other's account of inattentive service (reaching across the table) suggests inconsistencies in service quality.
No specific promotional information was mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in dining at Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet may want to check online for any advertised specials, discounts, or themed nights. Buffet restaurants often have different pricing for lunch and dinner, as well as potential discounts for seniors or children. Contacting the restaurant directly might also yield information about any current promotions.
In conclusion, Hibachi Grill and Supreme Buffet in Spring Lake Park, MN, offers a wide-ranging buffet experience with noted strengths in its Hibachi Beef and sushi selection. However, recent serious concerns regarding food hygiene and inconsistent service quality should give potential customers pause. While some have enjoyed their meals and the variety offered, others have had significantly negative experiences. It is recommended to seek out additional, recent reviews to gain a more comprehensive understanding of the current state of this restaurant before making a decision to dine there. If you do choose to visit, it might be prudent to carefully inspect the food and be mindful of the service provided.

Customer Reviews
I've been here plenty of times and most recently, stopped in with my brothers, for dinner. Let me just say, this place never fails to disappoint, and that is solely due to their Hibachi Beef. Juicy, tender, bite-sized cubed beef cuts, that just melts in your mouth. If it's one thing you should absolutely try, it is the Hibachi Beef. So many people grab it that it's always freshly made although, due to it's popularity, you may end up waiting or touring the other options while they make more. Of course, the other food items are tasty as well, and they have a great selection of sushi. I also recommend their Salt and Pepper Shrimp, it's probably the best around compared to other buffets, but I tend to like my salt and pepper more on the salty side. Pair it up with an ice cold Sprite and you're golden. Overall, when I think buffet, I think Hibachi. It's the same with my family and the place can be packed most times during dinner hours, but that's how buffets typically are anyways, its just if the food is good or not and you can't go wrong at Hibachi.
WOW…we’ve been to this place once and it was pretty good, but after today it’ll be our last time here! We stopped by for dinner after leaving the trampoline park. All we wanted was a good dinner until I saw hair in the food!! (If you look closely, you can see the hair strands). This place is unsanitary and when the food was being brought out, there was barely anything on the new trays! Not sure if other Buffet’s charge for drinks but we were charged for our drinks! We all had 1-2 plates with very little food on each of them, avoiding the foods that didn’t look sanitary. The service here was okay, the server came by twice reaching in front of us to grab our plates while we were eating, no “excuse me” or anything. There might’ve been a language barrier there so we weren’t too bothered by it, but I don’t think me and my family have been to more of a bad buffet than this one. Definitely our last time here!!
The atmosphere is for a very nice restaurant with a very nice fish display tank in the entry. The seating has a way of being both crowded, yet separated from the whole of the building and that does help. Several pork dishes were not cooked and I just sent the whole plate back. The ribs, surprisingly were the same way considering they were the cheapest short ribs on market. I had noticed there was a layer of fat baked on top of each piece and that was what was coated in barbecue. Sushi, an easy one and the obvious was a ton of rice, I made no friendly diner of myself and stripped each piece down until I had pieces that were reasonable to eat and had a healthy balance of rice to roll. However the Maki was very something somehow, at times I was unable to bite through a roll because it was too sticky, tough and hard to bite through. Speaking of pork, an easy favorite being beef and broccoli, that's the spot I retired to wrap up my tour of the several available dishes. Roughly 30 many being variations on pork and veggie. Either way it was awful, the pork having turned mushy melted in my mouth much to my horror and disgust. The service was so bad several diners had left without paying for their meal. That was the extremely low attendance given. It took a long time. Around 15 minutes between a stop some being as short as 8 with the servers having gone out of sight each time into a back soda bar area. Several guests in my seating area went out of their way to deny a tip. When I left they took my 20 and gave me my dollar and change back. This interaction was done without a word and the attending hostess had not even the gall to say have a nice day. Keep in mind I never said anything bad during my time and never left an acknowledgment. I ate my food, sent back what was not worth eating and pleasantly finished my dining experience. It would be easy to say, from solo to family dining you are bound to disappoint yourself, your family or your date. At 20 dollars a person your day is better spent elsewhere. Will not be returning. Ahh and I forget. They don't really often have hibachi.
I've been her years ago and I loved it so when I got a chance to revisit this place I was not let down. Assuming the price went up significantly I stopped stuffed myself with delicious food until I was nearly unconscious with several plates of food only to find out the buffet was only $11! I thought for sure any buffet nowadays would be at least 15 bucks. Needless to say they have a great selection of food including a sushi bar. You can't beat it. Hands down the best Asian buffet I've had
This place has awesome food!! If you like this type of food it's a must stop!! Definitely when I'm in this area again I'm going to stop!
