About Hibachi Grill and Buffet

Hibachi Grill and Buffet, located at 6539 N Wayne Rd, Westland, MI 48185, USA (phone: (734) 729-5688 or mobile: +1 734-729-5688), presents itself as a Chinese restaurant offering a wide range of dining options. Based on customer feedback, the restaurant features a buffet with numerous selections, including standard Americanized Chinese dishes, American fare, a salad and dessert bar, and a sushi bar.

One reviewer highlighted the extensive food options and the efficiency of the staff in maintaining cleanliness, noting that fresh and hot food was consistently brought out during dinner time. They also mentioned the restaurant's decor and ample seating, suggesting short wait times.

A distinct feature of Hibachi Grill and Buffet is its hibachi grill. This allows diners to personalize their meals by selecting their preferred protein, carbohydrates, vegetables, and sauce, which is then cooked in front of them on a flat top grill.

However, it's important to consider all feedback. One customer reported a negative experience during a lunch visit, citing high prices, off-tasting food, and a case of food poisoning after trying a new shrimp dish. This reviewer also mentioned rude wait staff who allegedly asked for tips. This experience led them to state they would not return.

In summary, Hibachi Grill and Buffet offers a diverse menu with a large buffet and a hibachi grill option. While some customers have praised the variety, freshness, and service, others have reported significant negative experiences regarding food quality and service. Local users are encouraged to consider these varying perspectives when deciding whether to visit.

We came for lunch it was expensive almost $70 for 3 people is ridiculous, all the food was off tasting and we usually love it but not today, I tried a new shrimp and now I wish I hadn't because I have food poisoning 🤢 we will not be back, also the wait staff is super rude asking for tips no thank you your tip is your service fee, and I tip when the service is good and the tip is not asked for, FYI tips are earned not mandatory. If I could give this trip zero stars I would

Great buffet experience. Lots of food options, staff is quick and constantly cleaning up. Went at dinner time and food was constantly coming out of the kitchen, fresh and hot. Restaurant has cute decorations and tons of tables so wait is usually very short. Flavors are good for standard Americanized Chinese food. Lots of American options as well. Salad and dessert bar, many bars of Chinese food, sushi bar. Also has a hibachi grill where you pick the protein, carbs, vegetables and sauce and it is cooked on a flat top in front of you.

Although the restaurant itself was clean and cute, the service and food were atrocious. We were charged $90 something dollars for 4 drinks and 4 buffet. Yes the price is high, but had the service and food been better, it would have been fine. Started right off with the syrup being out of the Diet Pepsi and the waitress had no clue what I was trying to tell her. Language barrier is one thing, complete lack of understanding is another. Then we got sat at a dirty sticky table, with the lack of understanding the waitress yet again didn't get what I was saying. Then we went to the buffet..... Over 3/4 of the food was empty. When it was brought to the cashier's attention she said she was sorry and would see about refilling the bar. By this point we were fed up and wanted a refund which had to be fought for and we only received the cost of 2 buffets because my kids each ate, 2 pot stickers, and 2 crab ragoons, and 3 Chinese donuts. So go at your own risk.

I would describe the service here as hot and cold if you have tap pay the hostess around the evening time makes the transaction inconvenient and almost turns you away from the desk or makes you wait for service. The food in the Buffet remain fresh in rotation and usually lasts a while in the heating tray. If you have any shellfish or any food allergies be very careful since most of the food aren't separated. For example the Sesame chicken may be directly next to teriyaki Shimp Skewers, which is next to Cashew Chicken , which would be parallel to pork belly and broccoli etc. The atmosphere is nice and spacious great theme nice colors and contrasting lights. The hibachi grill was crazy bad rice almost wasn't done at all super salty and skimping on the protein. In my opinion I'll say stick to what you're accustomed to as far as dishes go, also the deserts look better than they tasted, cookies were stale and the ice cream was non existing or freezer burned to the tub. I'll be willing to give this place another shot at a earlier time, especially since the table servers began very sweet then super sour walking passed empty cups after refilling 2/3rd full cups to almost rush you out.

The food is gross and barely tasteful, the waiters will watch you eat and because the food and the place is unsanitary you barely want to finish it. They love to charge u 45 two people but god forbid u take three pieces of bread that u had on ur plate 30 minutes before leaving. They want tips but as they walk u to their table u can see the irritation in the way they move and that’s fine because you ain’t gotta be jolly but it does go into the sanitary aspect of this place. I’ve worked a job where the owners were cheap and hounded us to be a certain way and so I think the waiters prolly get told off if they don’t watch how much people eat and what. But it’s definitely not worth it because they only care about how much u tip them. I expect this from certain types so oh well.
