About Hibachi Chinese

Hibachi Chinese, located at 136 W Broad St in Elizabethtown, NC 28337, presents a unique dining concept within the Chinese Restaurant category. Unlike traditional Chinese restaurants with pre-set menu items, Hibachi Chinese offers a customizable Hibachi experience. They can be contacted at (910) 872-9988 or +1 910-872-9988 for inquiries. Based on recent customer reviews, this restaurant provides a fresh and interactive way to enjoy Hibachi-style cuisine.

One reviewer enthusiastically described the dining process as an "amazing way to get exactly what you want at a Hibachi restaurant." This involves selecting fresh ingredients from a "salad bar" style setting, which includes a choice of rice or noodles, a variety of fresh vegetables, and four types of meat. Customers then take their assembled plate to be cooked on the Hibachi grill by the staff. The cooked food is then served hot and, according to the reviewer, "tasty" and "so very good." This unique approach allows for a high degree of customization, ensuring diners get precisely the combination and quantity of ingredients they desire.

The same reviewer lauded Hibachi Chinese as the "Best hibachi grill around and can compete with most any hibachi grill anywhere," indicating a high level of satisfaction with the food quality and the overall Hibachi experience. While they noted that "The atmosphere is typical for a small town and could improve," this was their only reservation, with the overall experience being described as "great, great, great!" This suggests that while the ambiance might be basic, the food and the unique dining format are the primary draws.

Another customer echoed the positive sentiments, calling the place "pretty amazing." They further elaborated on the Hibachi style, where patrons fill their plates with raw ingredients, which are then cooked on a grill in the dining area, providing an element of visual entertainment as well. This reviewer also mentioned the takeout option, where food is charged by the pound, offering a flexible way to enjoy their Hibachi at home. For those dining in, they highlighted that the experience includes two trips to the ingredient bar, allowing for a substantial and varied meal.

The freshness of the ingredients was specifically praised, with the reviewer noting "All the ingredients were fresh, and there are a decent amount of choices." This is a crucial aspect of the "salad bar" style setup, as the quality of the raw components directly impacts the final cooked dish. The ability to "customize my food, and get exactly how much i want of everything" was also highlighted as a major advantage, catering to individual preferences and appetites.

In terms of service, this second reviewer mentioned that "They weren't the best at refilling our drinks," indicating a minor area for potential improvement. However, they also emphasized that "everyone was very friendly and the price is very fair," suggesting that the staff are welcoming and the overall value is good. This points to a trade-off where the core experience of customized, freshly cooked Hibachi at a reasonable price outweighs a minor lapse in drink service.

The environment of Hibachi Chinese, while described as "typical for a small town" by one reviewer, is likely a casual and functional space centered around the Hibachi grill area and the ingredient bar. The focus seems to be more on the interactive dining experience and the quality of the food rather than elaborate decor. The open grilling area would likely be a central feature, allowing diners to watch their meals being prepared.

The services offered by Hibachi Chinese are unique, primarily revolving around the self-selection of raw ingredients followed by professional Hibachi grilling. This differs significantly from the traditional ordering of pre-set dishes. The option for takeout, priced by the pound, adds another layer of service for those wanting to enjoy their customized Hibachi at home. While drink refills were noted as potentially slow, the overall friendliness of the staff contributes to the service experience.

The key feature of Hibachi Chinese is undoubtedly its "salad bar" style ingredient selection for Hibachi cooking. This allows for unparalleled customization, fresh ingredients, and a degree of control over portion sizes and combinations. The four types of meat available, along with rice or noodles and a variety of fresh vegetables, provide a good range of options. The fact that the food is cooked to order on a Hibachi grill ensures it is served hot and flavorful. The reasonable pricing, as mentioned by one reviewer, further enhances the appeal.

No specific promotional information was mentioned in the provided reviews. It is unknown if Hibachi Chinese offers any special deals, lunch specials, or other promotions. The unique dining concept itself might be considered a key draw, potentially reducing the need for extensive promotions.

For local users in Elizabethtown, NC, Hibachi Chinese offers a distinctive and highly customizable Hibachi dining experience. The "salad bar" style selection of fresh ingredients, including meats, vegetables, rice, and noodles, allows diners to create their perfect meal, which is then cooked to order on a Hibachi grill. The positive reviews highlight the deliciousness and freshness of the food, as well as the friendly service and fair pricing. While the atmosphere might be simple, the unique and engaging way of enjoying Hibachi makes this restaurant a standout option, potentially competing with even higher-end Hibachi establishments. Whether dining in for the full interactive experience or taking out a customized meal by the pound, Hibachi Chinese offers a fresh and tasty alternative to traditional Chinese restaurants.

The enthusiasm in the reviews suggests that Hibachi Chinese has found a successful formula that resonates with its customers. The ability to control exactly what goes into your meal and how much of each ingredient you get is a significant advantage for many diners. The open cooking process also adds an element of transparency and entertainment. For those in Elizabethtown looking for a Hibachi experience that goes beyond simply ordering from a menu, Hibachi Chinese appears to be a highly recommended choice.

In conclusion, Hibachi Chinese in Elizabethtown, NC, offers a unique and highly praised Hibachi dining experience where customers select their fresh ingredients from a bar and have them cooked to order. With friendly service and fair prices, it's a standout restaurant for those seeking a customizable and delicious Hibachi meal.

Amazing way to get exactly what you want at a Hibachi restaurant. Choose the fresh food from a "salad bar" style setting, including rice or noodles, many fresh veggies, and 4 types of meat. They then cook it for you on the Hibachi grill. What you have put on you plate, they serve it up for you, hot and tasty. It is so very good. Best hibachi grill around and can compete with most any hibachi grill anywhere. The atmosphere is typical for a small town and could improve but otherwise, it is great, great, great!

This place is pretty amazing. Its hibachi style, where you pile your plate with raw ingredients, then they cook on a grill in the dining area. If its takeout, you're charged by the pound. If dining in, you get two trips to the bar. All the ingredients were fresh, and there are a decent amount of choices. I love being able to customize my food, and get exactly how much i want of everything. They weren't the best at refilling our drinks, but everyone was very friendly and the price is very fair.

Been eating here for over 4 years and it's been A1 from day 1 Edit: after almost 10 years going here, this is still my favorite place to eat in Elizabethtown. It’s incredibly clean, the food is always cooked fresh and delicious, you get to make your own plate, AND it’s all you can eat. Just don’t waste the food, trust me on this
