About Hero Hotpot

Hero Hotpot, located at 3390 State St #33, South Salt Lake, UT 84115, USA, offers a Chinese hot pot experience to local diners. As a Chinese restaurant, Hero Hotpot allows customers to cook their own selection of ingredients in a simmering pot of flavorful broth right at their table.

Based on recent customer feedback, Hero Hotpot provides a generally enjoyable atmosphere with quick seating and friendly service. One reviewer particularly praised the delicious spicy broth. However, some customers have noted potential areas for improvement. One mentioned the limited vegetable options, specifically the absence of carrots and onions on the menu. Another reviewer from Chicago, comparing it to the hot pot scene there, experienced significant delays in food service and found the portion sizes to be small. This customer also described the broth as plain and noted issues with the freshness of some ingredients and the quality of certain dishes like fried beef balls.

It's worth noting that one customer advised future patrons to be proactive about their orders, suggesting they should inquire if their food hasn't arrived within five minutes and to consider ordering in advance to avoid long waits between servings. This reviewer also recommended avoiding the bone and tomato broths.

What a fun place! I got their spicy broth, and chicken broth. The spicy was so delicious! No complaints about the service, we were sat really quick, and everyone was friendly! My only reason for giving 4 stars, was they didn't have any carrots or onion on the menu to put in the hot pot. Not a big deal, just love having those in the options. I would suggest adding those.

(I’m from Chicago and there have plenty hot pots options. My comment is compared with hot pot restaurants in Chicago) I spent most of the time waiting for my food to come, watch the broth boiling, and have nothing to eat. This is all because the size of each order is small and the slowest serving (or, you might never get it - see below) The broth is very plain and you can clearly see through the broth (see detail comments below); the winter melon is not fresh; the fried buns are too greasy; each order has very few foods and you can finish it in few minutes and wait ten minutes (or longer or never) for the next order; the serving is slow, waited ten minutes with no food served; ordered some foods but never served and then customers have to remind the staff; the fried beef balls taste bad; the fried tofu is delicious; the meat slides are ok but I was not able to eat enough because of the slowest serving… (imagine you can eat 10 but only get 3-4) About the broth: I have never saw a broth like this before. It is too plain. It is like you get some broth from the true hot pot broth and add a bunch of water in it. The worst broth ever! And it has a unpleasant smell - this smell is usually because of the bone (or meat) is not prepared correctly Remember for those who still want to try: 1. if your food is not ready in 5 minutes, make sure to let the waitress/ waiter know!! Otherwise you may wait very long time to get it and possibly never get it. 2. And ordering foods in advanced!! Otherwise you would just watch the broth boiling and no food to cook (for more than 10 mins or never get it until you ask the staff) 3. Avoid the bone and tomato broth. You can do it much better at home.

Went here tonight with a friend during the lunar festival, great place! The food was good and it's all you can eat! Great for the price and so delicious as well! The wait staff was amazing, super nice and helped us how to order since it was our first time! Will definitely come back again!!

This was my first ever hotpot experience my friend brought me to. We were warmly welcomed in and the place was PACKED. Even though that was the case we got seated in 15 minutes and our broth was brought out in about 5 minutes. I have issues sadly with spicy food so I’m VERY happy that even their spicy options were doable and tasted fantastic. We had the option of getting a tutorial on the experience from the waiter and plenty of bowls, spoons and materials we needed upon seating. I was shocked at the speed that all of the meats and food we ordered came out. It was seamless. The environment was warm, but obviously a bit loud with everyone talking. It was a very exciting and fun experience overall!! I’ll be back!

My friend lived in China for several years and said Hero has very authentic Hot Pot. We tried bamboo, rice cakes, lotus, tofu, tofu noodles that we hadn’t ever had before. I loved the sweet potato noodles, brisket, chicken, and broccoli. We had a great time making our own sauce. We added garlic, ginger, and all sorts of fun stuff. We will be back soon! It is all you can eat so come hungry.
