About Henry's Cuisine

Located at 301 E Valley Blvd in Alhambra, California, Henry's Cuisine has garnered a reputation as a "hidden gem" among local Chinese Restaurants. Based on enthusiastic customer reviews, this establishment offers a delightful dining experience characterized by delicious and authentic food prepared with fresh ingredients, coupled with excellent service and a welcoming atmosphere. For local users seeking a memorable and satisfying Chinese meal, Henry's Cuisine appears to be a strong contender.

The environment at Henry's Cuisine is described by one reviewer as "cozy and welcoming," suggesting a comfortable and inviting space for diners to enjoy their meals. This ambiance contributes to a positive overall experience, making it a place where guests can relax and savor the flavors of the cuisine. The fact that a frequent diner readily offered recommendations to newcomers further hints at a friendly and perhaps close-knit community of patrons, adding to the welcoming feel of the restaurant.

The service at Henry's Cuisine is consistently highlighted as "excellent." Reviewers specifically mention the staff being warm and attentive, ensuring that diners have a great experience. This dedication to customer satisfaction suggests a well-trained and caring team that goes the extra mile to make guests feel welcome and well-cared for. Such positive feedback on service can significantly enhance the overall impression of a restaurant.

A significant feature of Henry's Cuisine is its commitment to providing food made with fresh ingredients and authentic flavors. Customers have raved about the taste and quality of the dishes, indicating a dedication to genuine culinary preparation. The menu appears to offer a diverse range of options, with several dishes receiving specific praise for their unique and delicious profiles.

One of the standout dishes mentioned is the fried shrimp. Interestingly, it is described as having a "unique Cajun flavor," which is an unexpected twist in a Chinese restaurant setting. The reviewer noted that it resembled prawns, was served hot and tasty with a little spice, and suggested it would pair well with beer. While acknowledging that the shells were somewhat tough, the overall impression of the dish was highly positive, even when compared to renowned fried shrimp dishes from other establishments. This suggests a willingness to experiment with flavors and offer something beyond traditional Chinese fare.

Another dish sampled was the fried and salty pork chop. The reviewer noted that it shared the same Cajun spice as the fried shrimp, which led to a slight disappointment as they wished they had tried the honey garlic pork chop instead. This indicates that Henry's Cuisine might have a signature Cajun-inspired seasoning that they apply to certain fried items. It also suggests that the menu offers a variety of pork chop preparations to cater to different preferences.

The clams served at Henry's Cuisine also received positive feedback, particularly for the "nice black bean sauce" which was described as perfectly balanced, not overpowering the sweetness of the clams. The reviewer found this dish to be excellent with steamed rice and even compared it favorably to a beloved basil clam dish from another restaurant, indicating a high level of satisfaction.

The beef chow fun was another dish that impressed the reviewer, who noted its excellent quality and the use of noodles similar to those in pad Thai. The dish was praised for its "nice smokey, charred, grilled wok flavor" and the tenderness of the beef. The reviewer's wife, who apparently uses the quality of beef chow fun as a benchmark for judging Chinese restaurants, found this rendition to have "easily passed," highlighting its exceptional preparation.

Even a seemingly simple dish like beef with Chinese greens exceeded expectations. The reviewer attributed its tastiness to a "rich tasty sauce" that paired well with steamed rice, along with tender beef and fresh, flavorful greens. This suggests that Henry's Cuisine pays attention to the details and flavors even in their more straightforward offerings.

Looking ahead, the reviewer expressed interest in trying the House Special Vietnamese Lobster on a future visit, noting its market price of $29 per pound. The availability of fresh seafood, such as lobster and the anticipated Dungeness crab season, indicates that Henry's Cuisine might specialize in or offer a significant selection of seafood dishes. This could be a major draw for local users who appreciate fresh and well-prepared seafood.

Currently, the provided reviews do not mention any specific promotional offers or discounts at Henry's Cuisine. The primary appeal seems to be the quality of the food, the excellent service, and the cozy atmosphere. Local users interested in any potential special promotions are encouraged to contact the restaurant directly at (626) 576-1288 or mobile at +1 626-576-1288 for the most current information.

In conclusion, Henry's Cuisine in Alhambra appears to be a highly recommended Chinese Restaurant that stands out for its delicious and authentic food, prepared with fresh ingredients and sometimes featuring unique flavor profiles like the Cajun-inspired fried shrimp. The excellent service and cozy atmosphere further enhance the dining experience. With a diverse menu that includes well-received dishes like clams with black bean sauce and smoky beef chow fun, and the promise of fresh seafood options, Henry's Cuisine offers a compelling culinary experience for local users seeking a memorable Chinese meal.

My friend recommended this place several years ago. I'm glad it survived the pandemic and that I was finally able to try the food and service. While waiting in the seating area, one of the guests, a frequent diner, recommended the fried shrimp. It was a very good recommendation. The 2 of us oredered 5 dishes so we could a little of each and take home the rest. The first dish was the fried shrimp. It had a unique Cajun flavor. It was more like a prawns. Very hot and tasty with a little spice and bite. Itd be perfect with a beer. But the shells were tough and not completely edible. It was excellent, but Bistro Na still has the best fried shrimp in the land. Better than famous Thai Garlic Shrimp dishes of Portland or Vegas (see my other reviews.) Our 2nd dish was the fried and salty pork chop. Hmm, it's exactly the same Cajun spice as the fried shrimp. We should've ordered the honey garlic pork chop instead. Our mistake. Next came the clams. I really enjoyed the nice black bean sauce. Not too much black beans iverpowering the sweet clams. Perfect with steamed rice. My other favorite clam dish is from Boston Lobster. Their basil clams dish is also excellent. It's a tie. Beef chowfun was the next dish. Also excellent. They use the same noodles used for most pad Thai noodle dishes. The noodles were infused with a nice smokey, charred, grilled wok flavor. The beef was nice and tender. Our other favorite for beef chow fun, with the same smokey flavor is Arcadia Garden Cafe'. My wife judges Chinese restaurants and their chef's by how good their beef chowfuns are prepared and taste. This easily passed. Lastly was the beef with Chinese greens. Wow, this simple dish came out super tasty. It exceeded my expectations. Again, it's the rich tasty sauce that pairs well with good ol' streamed rice. The beef was tender and the greens were fresh and tasty. Next time,.with more family/friends, we'll try the House Special Vietnamese Lobster. The MP was $29per pound and all they had were 3 lbs lobsters. That was too much for the 2 of us. We'll update our review next time we come back. It'll be dungeness crab season in a couple weeks. We'll review the other seafood dishes too next time.

We lived by a near AirBnB just across the street to Henry's. We saw a line up almost every day at night, and the parking lot was packed just for this restaurant alone. One our last day, we decided to order their lobster for a try, and this was the best decisions made! The lobster was super fresh, bouncy, juicy, and just super delicious! We tried their house special for the seasoning and cooking. Absolutely a wonderful taste experience! We ordered as take out, and heated the lobster the next morning. It still tasted amazing! Wish we had more time to try other dishes.

One of the best Chinese restaurants in town. I know there are hundreds in the area, as a SoCal native, I’ve sampled many of these restaurants but this one really stands out from the rest. The lobster w glass noodles is a MUST ORDER. We also enjoyed the curry beef stew, salted pig feet, and the Vietnamese styled fried fish. All were excellent.

Authentic Cantonese food. I enjoyed the food. The service is meh but what can you expect from an authentic Chinese restaurant. All the dishes were good but we didn't get the lobster because it was too expensive for just 4 of us. Overall I would come back again!
