About Heng Feng Hand Drawn Noodles
Under the platform category of Chinese Restaurant, we introduce Heng Feng Hand Drawn Noodles, located at 123 N 10th St in Philadelphia. This unassuming spot is known for its hand-drawn noodle soups and offers dishes like crispy squid and chili wontons.
According to customer reviews, there are mixed experiences at Heng Feng Hand Drawn Noodles. On the positive side, some customers have found the crispy squid to be good, and the broth and noodles in the soup to be nice. The chili wontons are also noted as very tasty with great flavor and a good protein-to-noodle ratio, accompanied by great service in at least one instance.
However, a significant negative experience was reported by one customer who ordered a soup with beef brisket, sliced beef, meatball, and pork sauce but received a soup that was predominantly beef tendon, which they did not order and do not like. The resolution offered was simply to provide a plate to remove the unwanted tendon, without replacing the missing items or adjusting the bill. This customer also reported not receiving a promised 5% cash discount and being overcharged, with the waiter allegedly avoiding them afterward. This resulted in the customer's first instance of not leaving a tip due to service issues and a vow not to return.
Another reviewer described the spot as unassuming with good noodle soup, noting smaller-sized proportions that were nonetheless satisfying. They also praised the great flavor of the chili wontons and the good protein-to-noodle ratio, along with great service in their experience.
In summary, Heng Feng Hand Drawn Noodles appears to offer hand-drawn noodle soups and other dishes like crispy squid and chili wontons. While some customers have enjoyed the food and service, there are reports of significant issues with order accuracy, problem resolution, and billing practices that potential customers should be aware of. It is advisable to exercise caution and perhaps confirm orders and billing details carefully.

Customer Reviews
Went for a bowl of soup and some crispy squid. On the plus side, the squid were good and the broth and noodles were nice. On the very negative side, they decided to give me what was predominantly a bowl of beef tendon soup (also on the menu) when I ordered the soup with beef brisket, sliced beef, meatball and pork sauce. I do not care for beef tendon and did not order beef tendon. I understand that sometimes there are bits of tendon in the sliced beef but that is not what happened here. When I pointed out that there was little beef, my waiter explained that they used tendon instead. I wasn't happy so he proposed a solution.... He gave me a plate so I could fish out what I didn't like. No replacement with the items I actually ordered. No adjustment to the bill. Nothing that indicated he cared in the slightest. See my photo of the "sliced beef and beef brisket" portion of my soup. At the end of my meal they gave me a receipt that indicated I could pay by card and be charged an extra 4%. Or if I paid the whole bill with cash they'd discount it 5%. I paid cash. They did NOT discount it and after giving me my (shorted) change the waiter would not pay attention or come over. Presumably he knew I'd been overcharged and didn't want to deal with it. In short - replaced the better meats in my dish with less expensive and unwanted beef tendon - was not willing to make it right - did not give me the discount that the receipt promised Would not return to this restaurant. This is the first time I've failed to tip, due to service issues, that I can ever recall.
Unassuming spot for good noodle soup. Smaller sized proportions but satisfying none the less. Got chili wontons, very tasty great flavor (needed a bit of salt), Good protein to noodle ratio. Great service.
Food was really good. Everything had flavors. I’ll go back next week and order more food with my friends. Service was really good.
Great service, great food, reasonably priced! My family and I had a great experience dining here, would definitely recommend.
As a huge fan of soup dumplings, I’m often left disappointed by places that either don’t serve them or don’t make them well. That was not the case here. The soup dumplings were spot on! They arrived at the perfect temperature, ready to enjoy just moments after reaching our table. Each bite was filled with flavorful broth and tender filling, making them an absolute delight. We also tried the sesame chicken, which turned out to be an excellent choice for anyone looking for a classic, tasty Chinese dish. Both the dumplings and the sesame chicken were flavorful, well-cooked, and hands down delicious. The restaurant is conveniently located right on the Main Street of Chinatown, providing the perfect opportunity for a leisurely walk to soak in the sights before or after your meal. The staff was welcoming and sweet, and our food arrived quickly, making the whole experience even better. As someone visiting the city and searching for an authentic and satisfying food experience in Chinatown, this place hit all the right notes. It’s a spot I would highly recommend to anyone, especially fellow soup dumpling enthusiasts!
