About HD Chinese Yunnan Rice Noodle
Welcome to HD Chinese Yunnan Rice Noodle, a unique Chinese restaurant nestled at 1395 Noriega St in San Francisco, bringing the distinctive flavors of Yunnan province to local diners. As a specialized Chinese restaurant, HD Chinese Yunnan Rice Noodle focuses on its namesake dish – Yunnan Rice Noodles – offering a comforting and authentic taste of this regional Chinese cuisine. If you are looking to explore beyond the more common Cantonese or Sichuan styles and delve into the rich and nuanced flavors of Yunnan, this restaurant provides a focused culinary experience.
One of the standout dishes at HD Chinese Yunnan Rice Noodle, highly recommended by a patron, is their Tomato Beef Noodle Soup. This dish is described as a "go-to spot for comforting bowls of noodles!" with a "rich, flavorful broth," "fresh veggies," and "tender, high-quality beef." The enthusiastic review suggests that this particular noodle soup is a highlight of their menu, offering a satisfying and flavorful combination of ingredients that makes for a truly comforting meal. If you appreciate a well-crafted broth and tender beef in your noodle soups, the Tomato Beef Noodle Soup at HD Chinese Yunnan Rice Noodle appears to be a must-try.
Another signature offering at the restaurant is the Original Beef Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles (过桥米线). This dish, a Yunnan specialty, was ordered by a customer during a late lunch visit. The reviewer noted that the rice noodles themselves were "pretty good." A unique aspect of the Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles is that it is served with a variety of "small dishes that you could add to yourself." This interactive element allows diners to customize their noodle bowl with different ingredients, tailoring the flavors and textures to their preference. The reviewer mentioned adding all the small dishes into the rice noodles, suggesting a generous assortment of accompaniments is provided.
However, the same reviewer offered a more moderate assessment of the broth of the Original Beef Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles, describing it as "okay." Broth is a crucial component of any noodle soup, and while "okay" suggests it was not particularly exceptional, it also implies it was not significantly lacking. This indicates that the overall experience of the Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles might be a balance of good quality noodles and a satisfactory broth, enhanced by the ability to add various ingredients.
In addition to the noodle dishes, the reviewer also tried the Garlic Cucumber as a side dish and the Iced Ribena and Thai Milk Tea as beverages. Unfortunately, the feedback on the Garlic Cucumber was negative, with the reviewer stating it "didn’t taste good." This suggests that while the focus is on the rice noodles, some of the side offerings might be less consistent in quality. The opinions on the beverages were not provided in this review.
The overall impression from this particular customer was that "the rice noodles were good, but the broth and other ingredients were just fine." This provides a balanced perspective, highlighting the strength of their core offering – the rice noodles – while indicating that other components of the meal might be average. This suggests that if you are primarily visiting HD Chinese Yunnan Rice Noodle for their specialty rice noodle dishes, you are likely to have a positive experience.
The review also mentioned that the restaurant had "a lot of empty tables" during a late lunch visit. This could indicate that the restaurant might not always be crowded during off-peak hours, potentially offering a quieter dining experience. However, it does not provide information about the ambiance or decor of the restaurant itself. The focus of the reviews is primarily on the food.
Based on the limited review information, it is difficult to ascertain details about the services offered beyond dine-in. There is no mention of takeout or delivery options. Similarly, there is no information provided regarding any promotional offers or special events that HD Chinese Yunnan Rice Noodle might be running. Local users interested in these aspects would need to contact the restaurant directly via phone or visit their location to inquire.
In conclusion, HD Chinese Yunnan Rice Noodle offers a specific and potentially rewarding culinary experience for those seeking the flavors of Yunnan province in San Francisco. Their Tomato Beef Noodle Soup appears to be a standout dish, praised for its rich broth and quality ingredients. The Original Beef Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles provide a customizable and interactive meal, with good quality noodles and a satisfactory broth. However, feedback on a side dish, the Garlic Cucumber, was negative. The restaurant seems to be a go-to spot for comforting noodle bowls, particularly the tomato beef version. If you are a local user in San Francisco looking to explore the unique cuisine of Yunnan and are a fan of flavorful rice noodle dishes, HD Chinese Yunnan Rice Noodle is worth a visit, especially if you are drawn to their specialty noodle soups.

HD Chinese Yunnan Rice Noodles is a go-to spot for comforting bowls of noodles! 🍜 Their tomato beef noodle soup is a standout—rich, flavorful broth, fresh veggies 🥬🍅, and tender, high-quality beef 🥩 make every bite satisfying. If you're craving authentic Yunnan flavors, this is the place to be! 🌟
We went there for a late lunch and there were a lot of empty tables. We both ordered the Original Beef Crossing Bridge Rice Noodles, Garlic Cucumber, Iced Ribena and Thai Milk Tea. The rice noodles were pretty good, but the broth was okay. These rice noodles offered a lot of small dishes that you could add to yourself. I just put all the small dishes into the rice noodles. The garlic cucumber didn’t taste good. Overall, I would say the rice noodles were good, but the broth and other ingredients were just fine.
The environment looks like typical Chinese restaurants. They did ask us to order fast but the food got served fast too. The noodle is on the salter side but it’s good :)
Friendly service, food arrived quickly and very decent. Rice noodles set is a fun experience as well. Highly recommended!
What a great find.... We happened to be in the area and wanted soup noodles. It was delicious and portions were huge! We started with their chicken wings which were perfect, not overly breaded or fried. The Szechuan flavors of the soup noodles were delicious. We'll definitely come back.
