About Hau PO

Welcome to Hau PO, a Chinese Restaurant located at 14 S Chestnut St in Jefferson, Ohio. As a local establishment serving Chinese cuisine, Hau PO offers options for both dine-in and takeout customers. Based on the available online reviews, customer experiences appear to be somewhat varied, with positive comments on specific dishes contrasted by concerns regarding food preparation and pricing accuracy.

One customer described the food at Hau PO as "not great but good," suggesting a decent quality that may not be exceptional but is generally satisfactory. However, this reviewer also noted specific issues with the egg roll, describing it as "sweet and very greasy." This feedback indicates a potential inconsistency in the preparation of this popular appetizer, which may not appeal to all palates, particularly those sensitive to sweetness or grease. Additionally, this customer reported a discrepancy in pricing, stating that they were charged $11 for a lunch special that was listed on the menu for $7.50. They mentioned not noticing the menu price until after they had left and therefore did not argue the charge. This raises a point of concern regarding the accuracy of billing and the alignment between menu prices and the final cost to the customer.

In contrast, another customer had a significantly more positive experience, proclaiming Hau PO to serve the "Best EVER Chinese food in the county." This enthusiastic review specifically praised the egg rolls and fried rice as "delicious." The reviewer highlighted the generous size of the egg rolls and appreciated the fried rice for being more than just plain yellow rice with onions, implying a more flavorful and substantial preparation. Furthermore, they positively commented on the General Tso chicken, noting its tenderness and contrasting it with overly hard or crispy versions. This customer expressed a strong intention to return repeatedly. However, they did mention that the egg foo young was "a little greasy" but that this was manageable by draining it on paper towels, indicating a willingness to overlook this minor issue given their overall positive impression.

The two available reviews offer contrasting perspectives on the food quality and other aspects of Hau PO. One reviewer found the food to be just "good" with specific issues regarding greasiness and pricing, while the other raved about the taste and quality of several dishes, despite a minor issue with one item being slightly greasy. This suggests that the experience at Hau PO may be somewhat inconsistent or that different customers have varying preferences and expectations regarding Chinese cuisine.

The limited information does not provide specific details about the restaurant's environment or ambiance. There are no descriptions of the decor, cleanliness, or overall atmosphere of the dining area. Potential customers seeking information on these aspects may need to visit the location or contact the restaurant directly.

Similarly, the reviews offer limited insights into the services provided by Hau PO. Both reviewers seem to have ordered food, implying that dine-in and potentially takeout services are available. However, there is no mention of delivery options or the attentiveness and efficiency of the staff. Customers interested in these details should contact the restaurant directly at (440) 576-3138 or +1 440-576-3138.

Finally, there is no explicit mention of any promotional information in the provided customer feedback. It is unknown whether Hau PO currently offers any specials, discounts, or loyalty programs. Local users interested in potential promotions should inquire directly with the restaurant.

In conclusion, Hau PO in Jefferson, OH, is a Chinese restaurant that has garnered mixed reviews from the limited online feedback. While one customer praised the egg rolls, fried rice, and General Tso chicken as exceptional, another found the food to be just "good" and reported issues with a greasy and sweet egg roll, as well as a pricing discrepancy with a lunch special. Potential customers should be aware of these varying experiences. Those who highly value specific dishes like well-prepared fried rice and tender General Tso chicken might find Hau PO to their liking. However, individuals sensitive to greasy food or concerned about menu pricing accuracy may want to exercise caution or inquire about these aspects before ordering. To gain a better understanding of the restaurant's environment, services, and any current promotions, contacting Hau PO directly is recommended.

Given the contrasting reviews, local users might find it helpful to consider what aspects of a Chinese dining experience are most important to them. If specific dishes like the fried rice and General Tso chicken, as described in the positive review, are appealing, then Hau PO might be worth trying. However, the reported issues with the egg roll and the pricing discrepancy should also be taken into account. It is possible that the quality and consistency of the food may vary, or that the pricing issue was an isolated incident.

For first-time visitors, it might be advisable to inquire about the preparation of dishes that have received mixed reviews, such as the egg rolls, to ensure they align with personal preferences regarding sweetness and greasiness. Additionally, it would be prudent to double-check the prices of any ordered items against the menu to avoid potential billing errors. Supporting local restaurants often comes with the benefit of unique, family-run establishments, and Hau PO appears to be one such place serving the Jefferson community.

Ultimately, the decision to try Hau PO will depend on individual preferences and a willingness to potentially encounter some inconsistencies in food preparation or service. The enthusiastic recommendation from one reviewer suggests that there are definitely aspects of Hau PO that are highly appreciated by some customers. However, the concerns raised by another reviewer should also be considered. Visiting or contacting the restaurant directly may provide more clarity and help local users make an informed choice.

Food is not great but good. The egg roll was sweet and very greasy. Menu says 7.50 for lunch special but I was charged $11. Didn’t argue because I didn’t notice the menu price til I got home.

Best EVER Chinese food in the county. The egg rolls and fried rice are delicious. The egg rolls are huge. The fried rice isn't just yellow rice with pieces of onion. It's so good. You're not breaking a window with the General Tso chicken. It's tender. I'm coming back over and over. The egg foo young was a little greasy. But drained on paper towels. We will be back!!!!

Ordered general tso's and egg rolls and lo mein this evening... Tasted horrible It tasted very old and like it's been sitting around for days. I literally had to throw my food away I couldn't even finish it It was absolutely horrible.. and when you walk into the restaurant it's very dimly lit and dingy and it's very dirty in there I'm scared to ever order food from there again It is not clean at all in there.. The health department should take a look in there and see what's going on It looks very unclean and it's so dimly lit I don't even know how they can see to cook, but they're probably not even cooking our food it tasted like it was cooked in a microwave. .. also they don't even tell you that they don't take a credit card till you get there,I will never order from there again
