About Happy Wok

Welcome to Happy Wok, a Chinese restaurant located at 467 Turner McCall Blvd NE, Rome, GA 30165, USA. As a valued member of the Chinese Restaurant category in the Rome area, Happy Wok has garnered attention and praise, particularly for its takeout offerings. While specific details regarding the restaurant's ambiance, dine-in facilities (if any), and comprehensive service offerings are not extensively detailed in the provided information, the available customer reviews offer valuable insights into the quality of their food and the satisfaction of their patrons.

One enthusiastic customer has gone so far as to declare Happy Wok as serving the "Best Chinese food south of NYC!" This is a significant statement, highlighting the high regard in which this customer holds the culinary offerings of Happy Wok. Notably, this reviewer resides in Calhoun, Georgia, which is approximately a 30-minute drive from Rome, and they willingly make the journey specifically to enjoy the Chinese takeout from Happy Wok. This dedication speaks volumes about the perceived quality and taste of the food, suggesting that Happy Wok has cultivated a reputation for exceptional Chinese cuisine that attracts customers from beyond the immediate Rome area.

Another customer provided a more detailed review, focusing on a specific dish: the sesame tofu. This review offers a glimpse into the preparation and characteristics of one of Happy Wok's menu items. The sesame tofu is described as having a sweet sauce and a crunchy coating, which are desirable textures and flavors often associated with well-prepared sesame dishes. However, the reviewer also noted that the tofu itself was not firm, resulting in a "squishy" texture. This observation is presented objectively, acknowledging that the preferred texture of tofu can vary among individuals, with some people indeed favoring a softer, less firm consistency.

The same review also commented on other aspects of the meal. The serving size of the sesame tofu dish was deemed good, indicating that customers can expect a satisfying portion. The steamed rice, a staple accompaniment to many Chinese dishes, was also reported to be of good quality. Furthermore, the dish included additional broccoli, which was steamed well, suggesting attention to the proper cooking of the accompanying vegetables. This detailed feedback provides potential customers with a better understanding of what to expect from at least one of Happy Wok's vegetarian options.

Based on the available information, Happy Wok's primary strength appears to be in its takeout service, with at least one loyal customer willing to travel a considerable distance to patronize the establishment. The positive review of the sesame tofu, despite the subjective comment on tofu firmness, indicates that Happy Wok pays attention to flavor profiles and the proper preparation of individual components of their dishes. The mention of a sweet sauce and crunchy coating on the sesame tofu suggests a well-executed balance of textures and tastes that are commonly appreciated in Chinese cuisine.

While the reviews do not provide information about other dishes on the menu, the enthusiastic endorsement from the customer who believes Happy Wok serves the best Chinese food south of NYC implies a broader satisfaction with their culinary offerings. This suggests that beyond the sesame tofu, Happy Wok likely offers a variety of other well-prepared and flavorful Chinese dishes that cater to different tastes and preferences.

The sesame tofu has a sweet sauce with a crunchy coating. The tofu is not firm. So the bites are squishy. That's a preference some people like a squishier tofu. The serving size was good, the steamed rice was good and the additional broccoli in the dish was steamed well.

If I could give 0 stars i would. The guy was so dam rude when I was asking about food. I should have went with my first mind and walked out then. But, I still ordered and apparently didn’t pronounce what I wanted correctly so they ended up making me the wrong thing so I go back in and once again he’s yelling with an attitude. I will never come here again should have just stuck with my regular place. Waste of $14 this chicken smells disgusting I can’t even eat it.

Let’s just get down to it, the food was terrible. We paid 60+$ for our meal, it tasted like it was under a heat lamp, the Lo mein tasted like I was eating a box. No sauces, the food was half warm and cold. The egg rolls we’re really chewy and hard to pull apart. The sweet and sour chicken was small bite sized pieces and it was like day old. Very disappointed. We took it home, Honey chicken with lo mein, chicken and mixed vegetables with lo mein, sweet-and-sour chicken with fried rice, chicken and mixed vegetables with fried rice. We didn’t even finish half of very unsatisfied

We got our food for take-out. We were about 20 minutes later than intended, but the people were still super kind and efficient. We didn't eat the food until much later, and it was STILL good. We got general tso's chicken with steamed rice, chicken fried rice, dumplings and egg rolls. We intended to just feed us two, but could've easily fed more. It was a great value, and the food was incredible. We are already excited to visit again!
