The environment at Happy Together appears to be welcoming and authentic, immediately setting the stage for a genuine Cantonese dining experience. One enthusiastic first-time visitor noted the presence of Peking ducks hanging at the front door and the greeting by a friendly "auntie," both of which strongly suggested an authentic culinary experience was in store. This visual cue and the warm welcome contribute to the restaurant's inviting atmosphere. The mention of ordering via phone suggests a modern and efficient approach to service, potentially streamlining the dining process for customers.
Happy Together offers both dine-in and takeout services to cater to different preferences. The initial reviewer's positive experience was during a dine-in visit, where they enjoyed the ambiance and the attentive service. A subsequent update from the same reviewer mentioned returning and again experiencing "friendly and efficient" service, reinforcing the notion that customer care is a priority at Happy Together. Another reviewer specifically noted being grateful for their takeout service during COVID, indicating that they were a reliable option for enjoying their food at home during that time. This suggests that Happy Together is adept at handling both in-house dining and efficient takeout orders.
A significant feature of Happy Together is its focus on authentic Cantonese dishes, with Peking duck and dim sum being particularly highlighted in customer reviews. The Peking duck was described as "so fatty and juicy and amazing," indicating a high quality and flavorful preparation of this classic dish. The shumai also received high praise, being described as "so hot and delectable," leading one customer to order two servings. The dried scallop fried rice was lauded for being "cooked so perfectly," with a "fluffy and light" texture that served as an excellent complement to the richer dishes. The fact that the customers "absolutely demolished all of the food" speaks to the overall deliciousness and satisfaction provided by the meal.
Beyond the renowned Peking duck and dim sum, Happy Together also offers other Cantonese specialties. One reviewer specifically enjoyed the "bitter melon with beef," noting its excellent preparation with crispy yet cooked melon and very tender beef. The flavor was so authentic that it reminded them of "tiny shops in Hong Kong," further emphasizing the restaurant's commitment to genuine Cantonese tastes. The same reviewer also found most other dishes to be "decent," suggesting a generally reliable quality across their menu, even if some dishes might not be as exceptional as their standouts.
Happy Together is also recognized as a "great under the radar dim sum place" in Chino Hills. While one reviewer noted that their dim sum selection might be more limited and not quite on par with the offerings in Hong Kong or Guangdong, they still considered it the best dim sum available in Chino Hills. This suggests that while they may not have an extensive array of dim sum, the quality of what they do offer is commendable within the local context.
The service at Happy Together consistently receives positive feedback. The initial reviewer described the "auntie" who greeted them as "very polite and kind," setting a welcoming tone for the dining experience. The update from the same reviewer reiterated that the service was "friendly and efficient" on a subsequent visit. Even a reviewer who found some dishes to be just "decent" still noted that "the service has always been friendly and good." This consistent praise for the staff suggests that Happy Together prioritizes creating a positive and hospitable environment for their customers.
Currently, no specific promotional information was provided in the customer reviews. However, the strong positive word-of-mouth, particularly regarding their Peking duck and dim sum, along with the consistently friendly and efficient service, serves as a significant draw for local users. The fact that a returning customer was surprised by low scores from other reviewers and strongly recommended giving Happy Together a try indicates a belief that the positive aspects of the restaurant outweigh any potential drawbacks that might have been mentioned elsewhere.
For local users in Chino Hills looking for an authentic Cantonese dining experience, particularly those craving delicious Peking duck and quality dim sum, Happy Together appears to be an excellent choice. The positive reviews consistently highlight the flavorful and well-prepared food, the welcoming atmosphere, and the friendly and efficient service. While one reviewer noted a more limited dim sum selection compared to larger culinary hubs, they still rated it highly within the local area. The consistently positive experiences shared by multiple reviewers suggest that Happy Together is a reliable and worthwhile culinary destination in Chino Hills.
In conclusion, Happy Together offers a genuine taste of Cantonese cuisine in Chino Hills, with standout dishes like their fatty and juicy Peking duck, delectable shumai, and perfectly cooked fried rice. Their dim sum is also highly regarded within the local context. Coupled with a welcoming environment and consistently friendly and efficient service, Happy Together provides a dining experience that many local residents have found to be amazing and worth returning for.

I stumbled upon this place on a Saturday when my original brunch plans fell through. But I was very pleasantly surprised. This place is amazing. I knew from the peking ducks hanging at the front door and the auntie that greeted us that this place was gonna be amazing. You order on your phone and the food comes out shortly after. Service is honestly so nice too. Auntie is very polite and kind. Food is out of this world. Peking duck is so fatty and juicy and amazing. Shumai is so hot and delectable - got two orders of that. And the dried scallop fried rice so cooked so perfectly. So fluffy and light - was the perfect base to all of the indulgent food we had. We absolutely demolished all of the food we had. This was some of the best dim sum I’ve had.
Update: we’ve returned again. As always, the Cantonese dishes were authentic and very tasty, and the service was friendly and efficient. I surely don’t understand the low scores from other reviewers. This place is worth a try if you haven’t done so already. I tried the bitter melon with beef. It was excellent as the Mellon was crispy but cooked and the beef was very tender. Its flavor really reminded me of tiny shops in Hong Kong. This is a great under the radar dim sum place. There are several dim sum places in Chino Hills and I think this is the best. They have limited dim sum dishes and certainly not as good as the ones in Hong Kong or Guangdong, but for Chino Hills I think this is a great place for dim sums. The duck is on the lean side, but pretty good. Most other dishes we had were decent, though nothing special. The service has always been friendly and good. During COVID, we were grateful this place stayed open for takeouts and we did just that many times.
10/10/24 The Dim Sum here is a real treat! We indulged in the Shrimp Siu Mai, Shanghai Soup Dumplings, and Steamed BBQ Pork Buns, and each bite was a flavor explosion. You can’t go wrong with these three. To top it off, the service was both speedy and friendly.
Didn’t want to drive to SGV for the usual Chinese BBQ, found this place in Chino and gave it a try. They have limited Dim Sum dishes but it was good enough selections. They also have roasted duck, Peking duck(not sure if you have to order 24 hours in advance or not. Didn’t look like it on the menu.). Roasted pork belly, char Shiu and chciken. They also have frozen dim sum to take home as well. The roasted meats are pretty decent and same as the dim sum. They have my favorite salted egg yolk lava steamed buns so I’m quite happy with it. Too bad they don’t offer the basic wonton Mee where it goes with all of the roasted meats.
My friend and I ordered three courses for two people. Let's talk about the dishes first. 1:lettuce w/preserved tofu sauce 9/10 Crispy leaves without black cooking in place, precise seasoning. But the dish is not quite right. According to my understanding, dishes with soup should use a saucer to avoid spilling the soup. In China, this dish is also colored with shredded red pepper. 2:Chinese sauerkraut w/pork tripe 7/10 The whole dish is very well cooked with raw starch, which is very thin but completely wrapped. From serving to eating about 40 minutes without water, we can see that the chef's cooking skills are very good. Pork belly has a small amount of odor is not removed clean, personal suggestions can try to add a small amount of Sichuan pepper, dried pepper, anise, cilantro and a large number of white peppercorns and a moderate amount of salt brine to make pork belly, in order to completely suppress the odor, onion and pepper should be reduced as a color match, increase the amount of pickled cabbage. When cooking dishes, add a little garlic chilli sauce or bean sauce to add color and enrich the taste of dishes. 3:roasted duck 8/10 The roast duck tastes good and the meat is roasted duck 8/10. In my impression, the flavor of roast duck and star anise will be more prominent, the color should be jujube red will make diners more hungry, roast duck sauce can add a little brandy to enhance the smell. The firing temperature is 200-210 degrees Celsius. The price is moderate, the overall rating is 9/10, and the Cantonese restaurant system in California can be ranked top10. I wanted to order coconut crispy chicken but the restaurant didn't have it. It's a pity. It was just us when we came. The server is enthusiastic. The restaurant is clean and hygienic. The teapot is beautiful. Dine-in is recommended.
