About Happy House

Happy House is a Chinese restaurant located at 1 Sutter Ave in Brooklyn, New York. As a local establishment within the Chinese restaurant category, it aims to provide a variety of Chinese dishes to the residents of the area. Based on the limited recent customer reviews available online, experiences appear to be mixed, with positive feedback on some food items and service contrasted by a severe negative experience concerning food safety and cleanliness.

The environment of Happy House is described in one review as "dirty." This is a significant concern as it directly impacts the dining experience and raises questions about hygiene standards within the establishment. The reviewer who reported falling ill after eating there explicitly stated, "I should’ve known cause the place was dirty Should have never eaten there." This suggests that the cleanliness of the restaurant may be visibly compromised, potentially affecting customer comfort and health safety. The other reviewer did not comment on the cleanliness or ambiance, focusing instead on the quality of the food and service. Without further information, it is difficult to provide a balanced view of the environment, but the negative comment regarding cleanliness is a crucial point for potential customers to consider.

In terms of services, the reviews suggest that Happy House offers takeout, as one customer ordered food to go and experienced a severe health issue afterward. The other reviewer mentioned enjoying two meals, implying both dine-in or takeout were utilized, though not specified. Typically, Chinese restaurants in this category provide both options, allowing customers to eat at the premises or take their food elsewhere. Delivery service is not explicitly mentioned in the provided reviews. Local users interested in delivery options would need to contact Happy House directly to inquire about availability and any associated delivery areas or fees.

The features of Happy House, particularly its food, have received contrasting feedback. One reviewer had two positive experiences, specifically praising the fried wings with garlic sauce and fried rice, describing it as "fantastic." They noted that the rice was well-seasoned and the garlic sauce was "delicious." This reviewer also enjoyed the chicken broccoli with garlic sauce on a subsequent visit, again describing it as "amazing." This positive feedback suggests that some dishes at Happy House are well-received and flavorful, potentially indicating strengths in certain areas of their menu. The reviewer, new to the area, even stated that Happy House would become their "new go to for Chinese food," highlighting a very positive initial impression based on these two meals.

However, the second review presents a starkly different picture. This customer reported ordering food, receiving it very quickly (within five minutes), and subsequently experiencing severe stomach pain and vomiting, leading to a hospital visit. The reviewer directly linked their illness to the food consumed from Happy House, stating, "I ate a little bit from it Woke up with stomach pain, vomiting, and I had to go to the hospital so I would say Never again." This severe reaction raises significant concerns about food safety and handling practices at the restaurant. The reviewer's observation about the place being "dirty" further exacerbates these concerns, suggesting a potential lack of hygiene that could contribute to foodborne illnesses. The demand for the "hospital bill" to be given to the restaurant underscores the severity of this negative experience.

The menu at Happy House can be inferred to include standard American Chinese fare, given the dishes mentioned: fried wings, garlic sauce, fried rice, and chicken broccoli. These are common items found in many Chinese restaurants catering to American tastes. However, the quality and safety of these items appear to be inconsistent based on the conflicting reviews. Without a full menu, it is difficult to assess the variety and range of dishes offered.

Promotional information for Happy House is not included in the provided reviews. It is unknown whether the restaurant offers any specials, discounts, or combination deals. Many Chinese restaurants do provide such offers, especially for lunch or larger orders. Local users interested in potential promotions should contact Happy House directly at (718) 363-0762 or +1 718-363-0762 to inquire about any current deals.

For local users in Brooklyn, NY, considering Happy House for Chinese food, the available reviews present a dilemma. One customer had two very positive experiences with specific dishes and praised the kindness of the staff member taking orders. This might suggest that certain items on the menu are indeed enjoyable and that the service can be pleasant. However, the other review details a severe case of foodborne illness allegedly resulting from eating at Happy House, coupled with an observation of the restaurant being dirty. This raises serious red flags about food safety and hygiene standards.

Given the conflicting nature of these two recent experiences, potential customers should weigh these accounts carefully. The positive review indicates that Happy House might be capable of producing tasty food and providing good service. However, the negative review, particularly the reported illness and the comment about the restaurant's cleanliness, cannot be ignored. It suggests a potential risk associated with dining at or ordering from this establishment.

Local residents might want to consider these points and perhaps look for more recent or a larger number of reviews from other customers to get a more comprehensive understanding of the current state of Happy House. In the absence of more information, the decision to patronize this restaurant involves balancing the reported positive experiences with the significant health and hygiene concerns raised in the negative review.

In conclusion, Happy House in Brooklyn, NY, is a Chinese restaurant offering takeout and potentially dine-in and/or delivery services. While one customer enjoyed their meals of fried wings with garlic sauce and fried rice, and chicken broccoli with garlic sauce, praising the taste and service, another customer reported a severe case of foodborne illness and described the restaurant as dirty. No promotional information is currently available. Local users should consider these contrasting experiences and the serious health and hygiene concerns raised in one review when deciding whether to patronize Happy House.

I enjoyed both meals i had here. I had the fried wings with garlic sauce with fried rice and it was fantastic. The rice was well seasoned and the garlic sauce was delicious. The next time i tried them i had the chicken broccoli with garlic sauce and again was amazing. New to the area and this will be my new go to for Chinese food. The lady who took my orders was kind.

How do you get chicken wings wrong? There is literally no seasoning on the wings what so ever. It taste horrible. Something told me not to walk in here. This is my 2nd time ever . The first time the food was disgusting too but I waited a year. You won’t get me a 3rd time. I had to throw away the food both times.

If you’re going to order keep it very simple. Fries, wontons, white rice garlic sauce items. That’s it! The lady that takes orders is rude and dismissive. Good luck 👍
