About Happy Garden

Happy Garden is a Chinese restaurant located at 906 E 180th St #3 in the Bronx, New York City, NY 10460. They can be contacted at (718) 684-1335 or their mobile number +1 718-684-1335. Based on the available customer reviews, Happy Garden offers both takeout and potentially delivery services to the local community in the Bronx.

Customer feedback regarding Happy Garden presents a somewhat contrasting view, with one reviewer expressing significant disappointment due to perceived declining food quality and service issues, while another offered a positive rating and specific dish recommendations. This suggests that experiences may vary for different customers or over time.

One reviewer recounted past positive experiences with Happy Garden, specifically mentioning enjoying their sesame chicken during a hospital stay in 2023. At that time, the sesame chicken was described as "bomb." However, this same reviewer noted that their liking for the chicken and broccoli dish was not as strong. More concerningly, their recent experience indicated a decline in food quality. In a recent order, they received a shrimp roll containing what they described as "frozen left over cabbage" that tasted "of rubbery old wet cabbage," suggesting it had been frozen for an extended period. Additionally, this reviewer expressed dissatisfaction with the delivery service, stating that they "don’t deliver to your door." Due to these negative experiences, particularly the issue with the shrimp roll and the delivery limitation, this customer stated they were "highly disappointed" and did not anticipate ordering from Happy Garden again.

In contrast, another reviewer provided a significantly more positive assessment, giving Happy Garden an 8 out of 10 rating. They described the food as "absolutely delicious" and the service as "top-notch." This positive feedback suggests that Happy Garden is capable of providing high-quality food and excellent service. This reviewer also mentioned taking the precaution of confirming their order by repeating it back over the phone, which resulted in a perfectly handled order. They highly recommended calling ahead for pick-up, suggesting that this allows the kitchen more time to prepare the food fresh, which makes a "noticeable difference" in quality. This implies that while delivery might be an option, pick-up could be a preferred method for ensuring optimal food freshness.

Furthermore, this positive reviewer offered a specific dish recommendation: the "Shrimp Chow Fun with rice noodles." They described it as a "standout dish that’s both flavorful and satisfying." This highlights a particular menu item that has been well-received and could be a featured dish worth trying for other customers.

Considering these two reviews, Happy Garden appears to be a local Chinese restaurant in the Bronx that has shown potential for serving delicious food and providing good service, as indicated by the positive reviewer's experience and past enjoyment of their sesame chicken. The recommendation to call ahead for pick-up to ensure freshness suggests a focus on food quality when given sufficient preparation time. However, the negative review raises concerns about consistency in food quality, particularly regarding the freshness of ingredients in certain dishes like the shrimp roll, and also points out a potential limitation in their delivery service. The discrepancy between these two accounts suggests that the experience at Happy Garden might vary.

The reviews provide limited information about the environment of Happy Garden. The mention of calling ahead for pick-up implies that they have a physical location where customers can collect their orders. However, there are no descriptions of the interior ambiance or whether dine-in service is available. Therefore, based solely on this information, it is difficult to characterize the restaurant's environment.

In terms of services, Happy Garden offers takeout, as suggested by the recommendation for pick-up. They also appear to offer delivery, although one reviewer noted that they do not deliver directly to the door, implying a potential limitation in their delivery range or method. The positive reviewer's experience of a perfectly handled phone order suggests that their phone ordering service is efficient and accurate when customers take the initiative to confirm their orders.

A potential feature of Happy Garden could be their sesame chicken, which was highly praised in the past. Another notable feature, according to a positive reviewer, is their Shrimp Chow Fun with rice noodles, described as a standout dish. The recommendation to call ahead for pick-up to ensure freshness might also be considered a service feature aimed at maximizing food quality for customers.

There is no promotional information available in these reviews. No discounts, special offers, new menu items, or loyalty programs are mentioned. Local users interested in such information would need to contact the restaurant directly to inquire.

In conclusion, Happy Garden in the Bronx offers Chinese cuisine for takeout and potentially limited delivery. While one customer reported significant issues with food quality and delivery, another praised the delicious food, top-notch service, and specifically recommended the Shrimp Chow Fun with rice noodles, also suggesting calling ahead for pick-up to ensure freshness. The sesame chicken has also been highlighted as a good dish in the past. Potential local users should be aware of the mixed feedback and might consider calling ahead for pick-up based on the positive recommendation. Further information about their menu, delivery service area, and any current promotions would be beneficial for making an informed decision.

I have order from this restaurant in the past they fell off the first time when I was pregnant in 2023 while in the hospital back then the sesame chicken was bomb their chicken and broccoli wasn’t too my liking. It seems like the food quality has gotten worse. After placing an order tonight and being given frozen left over cabbage in my shrimp roll like it had been frozen for more than two months tasting of rubbery old wet cabbage.not to mention they don’t deliver to your door I am highly disappointed I don’t think I’ll be ordering from them again.

I would confidently give this place an 8/10. The food is absolutely delicious, and the service is top-notch. My order was handled perfectly, though I made sure to confirm it by repeating it back over the phone. Everything went smoothly, and I highly recommend calling ahead for pick-up. It ensures they have more time to prepare your food fresh, which makes a noticeable difference. Would also highly recommend the Shrimp Chow Fun with rice noodles. It’s a standout dish that’s both flavorful and satisfying.

This place is a rip off. You order food and it's not delivered and they don't care because they are already paid. Please don't order anything from this place. And they don't even try to fix the problem. It's on you. And the quality of the food is is not good. Please share this if you live in the Bronx

The lady that takes the order always has an attitude, If you notice they barely give out there MENU because they like to charge different prices all the time. If you don’t know the prices they will overcharge you. There’s never a set price. They’re very cheap in giving utensils, napkins and soy sauce, duck sauce, exc. Wouldn’t consider anyone to go in there and buy. Be very careful!
