About Happy Garden
Happy Garden, a Chinese restaurant located at 208 E 165th St in the Bronx, New York, serves the local community with a menu of Chinese-American dishes. However, recent online customer reviews provide overwhelmingly negative feedback regarding the quality and taste of the food, which potential local users should carefully consider.
One highly critical review began with the emphatic statement, "I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE REVIEWS." This immediately sets a negative tone and suggests that previous customers had already voiced significant concerns about this establishment. The reviewer's direct experience appears to have validated these warnings. Upon simply opening their container, the reviewer stated that the "FOOD LOOKS HORRENDOUS," indicating a severe issue with the visual appeal and presentation of the dishes.
More alarmingly, the same reviewer specifically described the dumplings, a common and often well-loved Chinese appetizer, as looking "RAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!". The consumption of raw or undercooked dumplings, particularly those containing meat or seafood, poses a significant food safety risk. This is a serious accusation that should be a major concern for anyone considering ordering from Happy Garden.
Another customer review echoed these negative sentiments, advising potential diners, "Don’t eat here." This direct and forceful warning underscores the severity of their dissatisfaction. The reviewer went on to describe the food as leaving "a bad taste in your mouth," and further elaborated on this unpleasant sensation by stating that it "tastes like old metal." Such a description suggests a fundamental problem with the ingredients used, the cooking methods, or the freshness of the food.
Even seemingly reliable items on a typical Chinese restaurant menu, such as egg rolls, did not escape criticism. The reviewer stated, "Even the egg rolls are bad. I never had a bad egg roll until I ordered from this place." Egg rolls are often considered a standard and relatively safe choice, so a negative experience with this item suggests a pervasive issue with the overall food quality at Happy Garden.
The same reviewer concluded by unequivocally stating, "Worst Chinese food I ever had." This strong condemnation, coupled with the desire to give the restaurant zero stars if possible, further emphasizes the extreme dissatisfaction experienced by this customer. The cumulative effect of these two reviews paints a very negative picture of the food quality at Happy Garden.
Based on these severely critical reviews, there is no positive feedback available regarding the environment, services, or any potential features of Happy Garden. The focus of the reviews is solely on the negative aspects of the food itself, specifically its appearance and taste. Therefore, it is impossible to provide any objective information about the dining atmosphere, the friendliness or efficiency of the staff, or any unique selling points of the restaurant based on this limited data.
Similarly, there is no mention of any promotional information or special offers in these reviews. Given the strong negative feedback concerning the fundamental aspect of food quality, any potential promotions would likely be of little interest to prospective customers who are primarily concerned with receiving safe and palatable meals.
In conclusion, the recent online customer reviews for Happy Garden in the Bronx, NY, are overwhelmingly negative, focusing on issues with food appearance (described as "horrendous"), potential safety concerns (dumplings looking "raw"), and unpleasant taste (described as "tasting like old metal"). Even standard items like egg rolls received criticism. Potential local users should take these strong warnings into serious consideration before deciding to order from or visit Happy Garden. The lack of any positive feedback makes it difficult to recommend this establishment based on the currently available information. Individuals prioritizing food quality and safety may want to explore alternative Chinese dining options in the Bronx area.

I SHOULD HAVE LISTENED TO THE REVIEWS ALL I DID WAS OPEN MY CONTAINER FOOD LOOKS HORRENDOUS THE DAMN DUMPLINGS LOOK RAW!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don’t eat here. The food will leave a bad taste in your mouth. It tastes like old metal. Even the egg rolls are bad. I never had a bad egg roll until I ordered from this place. Worst Chinese food I ever had. I would’ve given this place 0 stars if it was possible.
The reason I fell in love with Chinese spare ribs is what I just experienced. The seasonings and just the right amount of BBQ sauce. Not a old hard spare rib in the bunch like other Chinese restaurants.
Ordered the chicken w/ brocoli lunch special, came with soup and pork fried rice. It was very filling and tasted good. Will order again. Update: ordered chicken with broccoli lunch. Still good.
I just want to say if they don’t deliver to a certain address why would they come and drop off a manu were they can’t deliver.
