Customer Reviews
I regret not reading reviews before visiting this restaurant for lunch. I ordered the Kung Pao Chicken with wonton soup, and while the soup was delicious, the Kung Pao Chicken was a disappointment. It didn't taste like authentic Kung Pao Chicken, which I've had many times before (and I'm part Chinese, so I know the dish well). When I asked to exchange my food, the staff gave me a hard time, insisting that their version was correct. I disagreed and asked to try the General Tso's Chicken instead. In addition, I was told my dish was coming with egg fried rice. There was no egg. It was just plain rice that seemed to have been cooked with soy sauce but had no taste. The chicken was hard and dry. Unfortunately, that dish also lacked flavor. The hospitality was also subpar. Overall, I'd say the food and service were not up to par, and you can find better Chinese food at a takeout place. Sadly, I won't be returning.
Taste overall 7/10 Main dish Bok choi beef with white rice 7/10, Hot sour soup 7/10 both have a pretty standard taste; Service 7.5/10 Cleanness 8/10; Portion with the price (lunch special for me)10/10; Vibe 6.5/10 a small chinese restaurant with a noise of busy midday busy nyc, one restroom, no free wifi. Overall, I would say 7/10 as a good cheap place to have a decent food in nyc. Note that the menu prices have already been increased from the google review’s menu 3 years ago.
I live nearby, and have probably ordered from here five or six times a year for a number of years. Is the food amazing? No it is not. Is the food awful? No it is not. I find it perfectly decent for lunch. As for cost, I usually get The shrimp with mixed vegetables lunch special which includes a soup for about $12 including tip. It has enough food for two lunches for me. So, six dollars for a lunch in Midtown seems very reasonable. I noticed that a lot of the one-star reviews are mostly about the customer service. I can’t speak to that. I would recommend that you order through Seamless, so there is a record of what you ordered. I would also advise against eating in the establishment, though I can’t say that from personal experience.
This would have to be the nastiest Chinese restaurant in Nyc. The sweet and sour chicken was literally fried batter, with NO CHICKEN on the inside. Just hard crunchy batter. You can’t make this stuff up!! The egg roll had an awful smell, like old cabbage. Fried rice was stale and bland. No flavor. The food went in the trash! Order at your own risk! Giving this business your money, is truly throwing your money away!
Very very good and friendly pleasant service! I will certainly be back! I placed an order online and had made a mistake by SCHEDULING the pickup for the following day (pay attention when ordering online) 12 hours later than I wanted it. When I came in, my order wasn't ready because it was in their system as for tom for lunch (which is cool that you can schedule future orders) but anyway, the kind lady prepare my order anyway, even though they were going to close in 15 minutes! So grateful for that and it was DELICIOUS! I ordered the General Tsos and Oragne Chicken with white rice and spring rolls (crispy and crunchy 😍) and the egg roll was good too!
