About Happy Dragon
Happy Dragon, located at 11670 Commercial Dr #400 in Fishers, Indiana, is a Chinese restaurant primarily offering takeout services to the local community. As a Chinese takeout restaurant, Happy Dragon aims to provide convenient and flavorful Chinese cuisine options. The restaurant can be contacted at (317) 842-7778 or +1 317-842-7778.
Based on the limited customer reviews available, experiences at Happy Dragon appear to be divided. One customer expressed a high level of satisfaction, stating that Happy Dragon is their "preferred Chinese takeout restaurant on the Northeast side." This reviewer specifically praised the restaurant's ability to prepare food according to their preferences, noting that whenever they specify their needs, the food is "always prepared to perfection." They identified several dishes they enjoy, including Orange Chicken, Chicken fried rice, white rice, and vegetable egg rolls, and concluded by stating they are a "very satisfied customer." This positive feedback suggests that Happy Dragon is capable of delivering high-quality, customized takeout meals that meet individual customer expectations.
However, another customer reported a significantly negative experience with several dishes. This reviewer found the Lo mein to be "okay" but noted it was "too much salt." The Egg foo young was described as "so greasy and salty," as was the accompanying fried rice. Additionally, they received a "very salty liquid that was not edible," and they questioned the absence of gravy, implying it was expected with their order. Furthermore, this reviewer found the beef to be "velvetized to a weird texture" and described it as "gross." Despite these negative comments about the food, they did note that "the guy who took my order was nice," indicating a positive interaction with the staff member handling the order.
Considering these contrasting reviews, the food quality at Happy Dragon seems to be inconsistent. While one customer consistently receives perfectly prepared dishes tailored to their preferences, another experienced multiple items that were excessively salty, greasy, and had undesirable textures. This discrepancy suggests potential variability in food preparation or perhaps differences in individual sensitivities to salt and texture. Local users considering Happy Dragon should be aware of these differing experiences.
Information regarding the environment of Happy Dragon is not provided in the available reviews. Both reviewers focused on the food and service aspects of their experience, without mentioning the ambiance, cleanliness, or décor of the restaurant itself. As Happy Dragon is described as a "preferred Chinese takeout restaurant," it is likely that their primary focus is on efficient takeout service rather than an elaborate dine-in setting. Local users seeking information about the dine-in environment, if available, would need to look for additional reviews or potentially visit the location.
In terms of services, Happy Dragon primarily offers takeout, as indicated by the positive reviewer's description. The negative reviewer also ordered food, implying takeout or delivery service, although the method of receiving the order is not specified. The positive comment about the order being prepared according to preferences suggests a willingness to accommodate customer requests. The negative reviewer's mention of a "nice" person taking their order indicates that the staff can be friendly, even when the food quality is not satisfactory to all customers.
Features of Happy Dragon include its location on the Northeast side of Fishers, IN, and its apparent ability to customize orders to meet specific customer preferences, as highlighted by the satisfied reviewer. The menu likely includes popular American Chinese takeout dishes such as Orange Chicken, Chicken fried rice, Lo mein, and Egg foo young. However, the inconsistent food quality, particularly the issues with excessive saltiness and undesirable textures reported by one customer, is a significant concern. The friendly order-taking staff is a positive feature, but it does not compensate for issues with the food itself.
Promotional information is not mentioned in the provided reviews. There are no details about specific discounts, specials, or promotions offered by Happy Dragon. Local users interested in such information would need to contact the restaurant directly.
In conclusion, Happy Dragon in Fishers, IN, is a Chinese takeout restaurant that has garnered mixed reviews regarding its food quality. While one customer considers it their preferred choice and praises its ability to customize orders to perfection, another reported significant issues with excessive saltiness, greasiness, and unpleasant textures in multiple dishes. The staff taking orders are noted to be friendly. Potential customers should be aware of these differing experiences and may want to exercise caution when ordering, perhaps by trying a few different dishes to assess the quality for themselves. The restaurant's apparent focus on takeout service means that information about the dine-in environment is not available in these reviews.

Customer Reviews
Happy Dragon is my preferred Chinese takeout restaurant on the Northeast side. Whenever I place an order and specify my preferences, the food is always prepared to perfection. I am a very satisfied customer 🤗... Orange Chicken, Chicken fried rice, white rice and vegetable egg rolls
Lo mein was okay...too much salt Egg foo young so greasy and salty so is the accompanying fried rice. Then I got some very salty liquid that was not edible. Where is my gravy? My beef is velvetized to a weird texture..gross. the guy who took my order was nice.
When I arrived it appeared they had not seen my order. I had to wait at least 15 minutes past my pickup time. The woman at the counter said 5-10 minutes and grabbed the ticket from the register to bring back to the kitchen. Not an issue. Received food and left. I was in no rush. The lady working followed up with me throughout the waiting. Having just gotten off work, I arrived near to close, but placed my order 30 minutes prior. As I was waiting, I got to look around and saw the place was generally pretty dirty. To be fair, it was at the end of the day, but a few things stood out to me. The hoods in the kitchen didn't appear to be very clean and I was not entirely sure food was being prepared with gloves. There was a lot of dust caked on the fans in the waiting area. The floor was dirty but can't really do much about the snow. When I got home to eat, the hot and spicy chicken didn't really taste much like chicken, but rather mushy bits of fried scraps tasting burnt oil and fish. The sauce itself was good, but overall the dish was not appetizing. The chunks of material sort of dissolved in a weird way when trying to eat them. I am not a picky person and will generally eat food of any quality, but this was almost inedible. White rice was the best part of the meal. The dumplings were okay (probably better fresh, but reasonably priced for the quality). Their dumpling sauce was very good. I had ordered from this location in the past and had a good experience. Their sauce flavors are very good but the quality of meat was questionable. Fish taste may be attributed to old oil and using the same cooking equipment for fish and chicken. Maybe it was because it was so close to closing time that the quality was so poor. Maybe should have been warned by 3.5 stars but didn't see that until I came to write this review. They could be good, but maybe avoid ordering later.
Local Chinese bistro with the normal menu. Showed up on a Sunday for lunch. It was pretty steady for mostly to go orders. We decided to dine in. We were greeted promptly as they were getting orders together for pick up. We ordered a couple of lunch combos and were served in a timely manner with freshly cooked dishes. This is your standard low maintenance Chinese place. So we didn’t expect a 5 star experience. We are grateful however for the delicious food and smooth experience at a fair and reasonable price.
I called the restaurant to share with them my issues with the food. Hoping, they would comment they would try to improve. After speaking with the owner, who was argumentative, I told him I would post photos in my review. I purchased egg foo young and fried chicken wings. Egg foo young is usually made with bean sprouts. I am not sure what they were made of. It was not bean sprouts. The chicken wings looked like they had been cooked so many times that they were not eatable. I understand why they have a C rating. I do not recommend the restaurant.
